Streamyx Server Problem

This morning, I question if there was a problem with the website of PPP. While the site was down for me for hours on end, I asked a few friends to check for me. Some, who are also using Streamyx broadband connection, told me that they are facing the same problem. Others, who are in foreign countries, hence using another internet provider, faced no issue with accessing PPP.

After 24 hours of not being able to access the site, I finally decided to give Streamyx Customer Care hotline a call. I told them I could not access international sites and that I would like to have my port reset.

After answering a hundred and one questions, the guy finally did it for me. The problem now is that while PPP is accessible, my internet connection is crawling. Why can’t I have both a good connection where I could access any website PLUS a good speed? SIGH!

Streamyx Sucks Big Time

I thought that I should not blame Streamyx for the broadband internet connection that has been plaguing me since early last week. Like I mentioned, my internet connection has never been the same after my set up was struck by lightning.

However, today I learnt that I am not the only one experiencing signal drops. I have, for the record, experienced, almost thirty times disconnection today alone and yes, I am pretty pissed off! I could hardly get any work done at all because I wasted plenty of time just trying to reboot my modem, enable/disable my connection, just to try to get a more stable internet connection.

And you know what? There are some websites that I could not access to. My web host has told me previously that this is a problem with Streamyx. I could access these sites with my Celcom 3G via my mobile device so it is confirmed that these sites are live and there is no issue with their server.

I would not say that I am paying an arm and a leg for my internet service because it is only RM66 per month but I still expect it to function without the signal dropping as and when it likes and spoiling my work midway.

So, yes, Streamyx sucks big time!
