Although I may not be a graphic designer, running twenty blogs and a personal website and ecommerce store, I sometimes have to depend on myself to do a little graphic work if friends are unwilling to help and I am too cheap to hire a designer. Hehe!

A little while ago, I learned of this Photoshop resource website called Brusheezy that offers an awesome collection of free Photoshop Patterns. If you have been looking for something fresh, something different, something that would make your graphics stand out, then Brusheezy is the place that you should check.

Brusheezy also offers an even larger collection of free Photoshop brushes. You should take a look even if you are not a professional designer.

Follow A Blogger Blog

Blogger will soon be rolling out a Follow feature, which is like a little widget that shows off small images of your visitors. I hate that. When you come visit me, you can be sure that I will not have that widget on my blog (unless I am paid to put it up). LOL

This is because I hate to subject this on people who, like me, do not like it to be known that I have visited such and such a blog. I do not see the benefit of it except to quench our own curiosity of who among our blog friends came and read our blog.

I remember saying to a friend that her blog follower widget was breaking up her layout. I told her that she should remove it since it serves no purpose. She said that she wants to keep it because she would like to know who dropped by. DUH.

Anyway, no matter how popular such follow widgets get, I am adamant that I will not use it. I would like to maintain my privacy and I will accord this to my blog readers.

The Evolution of The World Wide Web

Over the past five years, the internet has changed so much. It used to be a source of information but now, it has turned into a global social arena and international marketplace. I believe that all of us have at least bought something online once. While we used to buy books and DVDs, we now have no qualms buying food stuff over the internet.

My friend shops for her baby’s supply of pediasure online because she says that it is so convenient. Just charge the credit card and it will be delivered to her door. She doesn’t even have to pay for shopping because online stores like Allegro medical are very competitive in their pricing and offer free shipping on orders.

It will be very interesting to see how much further the world wide web will evolve another five years into the future.

New Permatang Pauh MP, New Opposition Leader

Hehehe I know my post is a day late but I am one lazy blogger who would rather finish watching her Korean drams first before blogging, but of course, I still keep myself updated via MKini. 😀

Anyway, what does an Opposition do? Oppose only! Just oppose. Whatever the Government proposes, oppose lah! Bangkang saja. Rightly or wrongly, just bangkang. LOL

The ultimate aim of DSAI is of course, not as opposition leader, but to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Heh, there could only be ONE Prime Minister at any one time, so everybody, please queue up.

Anyway, I don’t get this DNA Bill. Why is there a need for such a Bill? HHmm if a person is already in custody, isn’t it so easy to get a hair sample or saliva for DNA testing, with or without his/her knowledge? Like “they” care if it’s against the law? No Bill, no Bill lah. Betul tak?

Blog Audit

For those of you who are not aware because you did not access the forum lately (because there’s too much witch hunting going on) or the blog (because it no longer updates on our dashboard), PPP will be running a blog audit where they will re-review all blogs in the system as a means of quality control.

Right now, it is not clear what basis they are using to decide which blogs make the cut and which do not, but soon we will know. I have a *bad* feeling that the majority of international blogs will be kicked out of the system but just because a blog is written by a blogger who lives in an English speaking country does not make it a “quality blog”.

Quality is so subjective but everyone knows that it has been sorely lacking lately. Perhaps it’s all because of the new, lower requirement which accepts blogs as young as 30 days old with only a minimum of ten posts.

While PPP discourages the set up of blogs solely for the sake of monetary gain, it is doing just the opposite by allowing these new blogs into the system when before, the minimum age of our blogs was three months with at least 90 posts, if I am not mistaken.

It has been said that this blog audit will take a month to complete but common sense tells us that it is not possible to review the 200,000+ blogs in the system within this limited time frame. I expect it to be a continuous effort by Customer Love so if we want to be in the system, we just have to be on our toes at all times.

The other day, I was asking my sister what I should get for my friend’s birthday. My friend is a son of a wealthy guy here in my hometown and you can say that whatever he wants, he could easily buy it. You can imagine how tough it is to get him a gift.

My sister suggested that I get him “knowledge”. I could buy him books or videos but just now, i found something more amazing that I am sure, even with his wealth, he would not have thought of getting it himself.

Streamyx Server Problem

This morning, I question if there was a problem with the website of PPP. While the site was down for me for hours on end, I asked a few friends to check for me. Some, who are also using Streamyx broadband connection, told me that they are facing the same problem. Others, who are in foreign countries, hence using another internet provider, faced no issue with accessing PPP.

After 24 hours of not being able to access the site, I finally decided to give Streamyx Customer Care hotline a call. I told them I could not access international sites and that I would like to have my port reset.

After answering a hundred and one questions, the guy finally did it for me. The problem now is that while PPP is accessible, my internet connection is crawling. Why can’t I have both a good connection where I could access any website PLUS a good speed? SIGH!
