Streamyx Sucks Big Time

I thought that I should not blame Streamyx for the broadband internet connection that has been plaguing me since early last week. Like I mentioned, my internet connection has never been the same after my set up was struck by lightning.

However, today I learnt that I am not the only one experiencing signal drops. I have, for the record, experienced, almost thirty times disconnection today alone and yes, I am pretty pissed off! I could hardly get any work done at all because I wasted plenty of time just trying to reboot my modem, enable/disable my connection, just to try to get a more stable internet connection.

And you know what? There are some websites that I could not access to. My web host has told me previously that this is a problem with Streamyx. I could access these sites with my Celcom 3G via my mobile device so it is confirmed that these sites are live and there is no issue with their server.

I would not say that I am paying an arm and a leg for my internet service because it is only RM66 per month but I still expect it to function without the signal dropping as and when it likes and spoiling my work midway.

So, yes, Streamyx sucks big time!

Where’s The Coffee?

Here’s grate news that any coffee lover would love to know. How many times have you been to a new city and tried to look for a great coffee house? I know the pain thought I am not such a coffee lover but my mother is! She would want to find the best places that serve her favorite coffee no matter where we go and we end up circling all over.

Just now, I got to know of this community based website where members can find a great coffee house based on information, review and rating of other members.

Community sites like these are great in the sense that you get first hand information from other coffee lovers so you do not waste time looking for coffee or end up at a place that do not serve coffee as good as you expected.

EntreCard Issues Warning On Quick Drop Pages

A couple of days ago, I received three emails from EntreCard. They sent a strong message out to bloggers who are hosting Quick Drop Pages and those who still have these pages online on 1st July, 2008 will be banned from EntreCard.

EntreCard says that they have accumulated a long list of permalinks to Quick Drop Pages so come 1st July, they will just open all of these pages and then ban whoever who still have these pages online.

I think this is a great move by EntreCard to create a level playing field once again. I cannot understand why people are so obsessed with accumulating EntreCard points. Well, I know that we could sell these points for cash or use these points to advertise our EntreCard on top blogs. Still, I don’t see the point of going of the way to accumulate these points.

I have wanted to write on this a long time ago and it’s on my list of topics to write dated 11th April, 2008! LOL Now that EntreCard is finally making a stand on this, well, what an opportune time for me to write on this!

Seriously Inconvenient Without Wi-Fi

I have been surviving without wi-fi for almost a week now and it is seriously inconvenient. Each time I needed to go online from my notebook, I would have to unplug the cable from the back of my CPU and plug it to my notebook.

Needless to say, I no longer use my iPhone to surf the net. I use it primarily to go online, especially to Facebook because it is quicker than accessing Facebook on my computer, I think it’s because my RAM is insufficient. So now that I do not use my iPhone to surf the web and have never used it to make or receive calls, it has been reduced to just an alarm clock. LOL My poor iPhone is under utilized and I never knew that the battery could last that long!

Anyway, I have sent in my wi-fi router to claim warranty and hope that I could get it back soon though I am not hopeful since it was struck by lightning and I am sure it is not covered by warranty. Well, just trying my luck. The other paraphernalia that no longer has warranty have been replaced and yet my internet connection has never been the same. The connection keeps dropping. *SIGH*

Online Job Marketplace For Beauty Professionals

Many people, particularly those who do not spend as much time on the internet as I do, do not know that they could look for a job online. Many still rely on the newspaper. This is not to say that the Saturday job classifieds of our local papers are obsolete. Well, they are limited.

The other day, my friend was surprised when I told her that I am looking for a spa job. Of course, I am just helping an acquaintance who does not have access to the internet.

Anyway, I got to know that there’s plenty of beauty jobs listed on BeautyJobs.com so if you are looking for a spa or beauty job, register with the site and upload a resume. You will also be able to browse listings of jobs based on location.

I think a job site like this specifically for beauty professionals is very handy and creates a job marketplace for both employers and employees.

Electric Charge

There’s something wrong with my internet connection right now and I can’t blame Streamyx. Haha! The other day, after getting struck by lightning, honestly, I don’t even know where the problem lies in that my broadband connection keeps tripping.

I called up Streamyx and they tell me there is nothing wrong with my line at all. They do not even see the disconnection in their log yet I am experiencing that too frequently.

Is it my modem, hub or cables? I am thinking that I should wait a few days for the electric charge to dissipate but the frequent drop in my connection is killing my mood to work.

I do have Celcom 3G but to be honest, the stability has much to be desired. Let me try to be patient and wait a little while longer. I hope that things will right itself in time. I really have no time to troubleshoot unless I just change EVERYTHING!

New Top Ten Search Engine Ranking Package To Launch Soon

As a blog publisher and website owner, I could only understand how some of us tried too hard but failed to rank higher on the search engines than we would have preferred. It can be easy at times, due to luck, if we do not know the proper way to optimize every single post that we write.

However, this morning, I learned that there will be a newly launched optimization package by Service Wrap which has a website at www.servicewrap.net, which would change the way for serious webmasters.

For those who would like almost instant results in search engine placements on the first page, they should check out Service Wrap and their new programme that comes with an extensive testing and proven results.

Personally, I can’t wait to see how effective this top ten search engine ranking package will be. It will surely help more of us achieve better visibility for our content!
