The South-East Asia Earthquake and Tsunami Blog

I was looking for some information on tsunami when I came across this South East Asia Earthquake and tsunami blog. I would like to highlight it because these people have tirelessly maintained and update the blog regularly to bring SEA earthquake and tsunami news and information to us. It is much appreciated.

I believe after that awful tsunami misfortune on Boxing Day a few years ago, everyone has been rather jittery with the mere mention of the word “tsunami”. I have a friend who even considered relocating because his current home is near the sea. Not that near, but it’s too close for comfort.

It is indeed great that there are people who care enough to update the community on the situation. Visit the SEA-EAT blog for News and information about resources, aid, donations and volunteer efforts.

Atlantis, Then & Now

Have you heard the story that Atlantis Was a Real Place, the Americas? I think it is plausible, seeing the land formation from 11,000 years ago to the Americas that we know of today.

The website, Kingdom of Atlantis, is a comprehensive resource site with full information and research papers on Atlantis and its ruler, Atlas.

Previously, I have always thought that Atlantis was a fabled land but coming across this website, I am thinking there are too many coincidental data, then and now, not to believe that Atlantis actually did exist and it did not sink. Otherwise, where is America?

If you are up to doing a little brain exercise, I urge you to check out Kingdom of Atlantis and match the facts.

Atlantis Was a Real Place, the Americas

The kingdom of Atlantis included North, South, and Central America. It was divided into ten countries or kingdoms and each country had its own King. One of the kingdoms was also called Atlantis. The King of Atlantis was the ruler over the other nine Kingdoms. The first ruler of the Kingdom was called Atlas. This is how Atlantis got its name.

The royal city of the kingdom was located within the country of Atlantis. Within the royal city there was a royal palace. Originally, three different moats surrounded the royal palace. Plato referred to the moat formation as three zones of water and two zones of land.

As time went by they covered over the moats and cut three canals through the peninsula on which the royal palace was located. The construction of the canals divided the peninsula and formed two triangular shaped islands. The island that held the royal palace was called Atlantis. That is why Atlantis is referred to as a continent, and city, and an island.

Read the short version of Plato’s story at www.atlantiskingdom.com to learn more about Atlantis and the Americas. Then read Plato’s Timaeus and Critias to get the complete story.

I have matched the terrain features that Plato wrote about with present terrain features found in the Tampa Bay area. Research shows that Plato described Harbour Island as the small island of Atlantis. You will find that Plato recorded and published the story just as it was told. He even recorded the discussions leading up to the story. You will also notice several obvious mistakes made in translating the story from Egyptian to Greek and from Greek to English. The biggest mistake occurred when travelers came upon a shoal of mud and thought it was left over from the sunken island. They were wrong. The continent of Atlantis did not sink.

You are invited to review the facts to see for yourself that the Americas, from South America to Alaska were once the kingdom of Atlantis, a single nation. The land formation is still laid out the same as it was over 11,000 years ago. It is best viewed from the air. See image.

Pissing Mad

The other day, I was so mad with this blog for pay marketplace. I placed four bids on two opportunities and surprisingly all were accepted. Usually these advertisers will take forever to even make a decision.

So anyway, I wrote and submitted all of my articles and promptly forgotten about them. Unfortunately, I received an email from this marketplace informing that all my articles, at 200+ words a piece, had to be withdrawn as the adverting opportunities were purchased with a fraudulent credit card.

I was also told to remove my posts from my blogs. But the posts have already been ping-ed and cached, you know? My stats tracker even showed people who came to my blog from searching for that particular domain.

Pah! And now I am told that I have written for nothing.

Writing a post and giving links for free is one thing, but writing posts that I THOUGHT I would be paid and then told that I will NOT be is another issue, you know what I’m saying?

Settle Your Credit Card Bills On Time

After reading my post that I do not own a Credit Card anymore a blog reader was very surprised.

It is not that I do not want to use a credit card anymore. I still think that credit cards are an important part of our modern lifestyle since we are heading towards a paperless and cashless daily living.

I feel that for expensive purchases, we are better off swiping our credit card, and it is all the more beneficial if we have a credit card that rewards us with a cash back program.

What I feel that is evil about the plastic card is that the temptation to spend is very great and the ability to borrow money so easily against the credit card

If we are disciplined to only use the credit card as long as we settle our outstanding credit card bill at the end of the month before we are charged an interest then more power to us!

Welcome to San Jose, Costa Rica!

This morning, I received a beautiful postcard from Markus sent from San Jose, Costa Rica. What a surprised as he did not mention that he will be going to Costa Rica for his vacation.

I remember the time my parents went to Costa Rica for their wedding anniversary where they stayed at Hotel San Gildar. They brought home wonderful memories and a stack of photographs! What a beautiful hotel it is situated in upscale Escazu, San Jose.

Hotel San Gildar’s strategic location is excellent for both tourists who visit the East coast and the West coast of Costa Rica. Moreover, the Juan Santa Maria International Airport is only 20 minutes away so it is very convenient.

Coincidentally, Markus also stayed at Hotel San Gildar during his vacation. He told me to check out Hotel San Gildar’s website where there are new photos of the hotel in their online photo gallery.

My parents and Markus also enjoyed the warm Costa Rican hospitality from the staff of Hotel San Gildar. I suspect that this is the hotel I too will be staying in should I visit Costa Rica.

It’s Mother’s Day Again!

It is going to be Mother’s Day soon. I still remember the previous Mother’s Day. It was just like yesterday. Where has all the time gone?

This year, my siblings asked me what I should get for mother. No matter what people say, I still feel that Mothers Day roses are the best. Our mother loves roses, anyway.

Even so, I would love it that we each give her an individual Mother’s Day gift to surprise her. I am sure our mother will think we will only send roses to her, AS USUAL. What a surprise she would get!

Besides the roses, I think I will have a hard time figuring out what to give her on this special occasion. Mother is such a simple lady that she will like no matter what we give her. Moreover, when we ask her if she has any request, she will always reply in the negative. And if I were to buy something expensive for her, she will complain that I am wasting money. You know, it really is not easy being her daughter.

I asked a friend what he is giving his mom this Mother’s day and he said he will just give cash because it is the most practical gift on earth. I think I will just follow suit.

Host Your Own Blog

I have a friend who blogs on a not-so-popular free blog service, which I shall not name. The server is so slow that not only is it difficult to access to read, he told me that it is also the same trying to write and publish post. There were times that he lost his posts due to one reason or another.

So I advised him to host his own blog. However, a few months passed and he told me that he has moved his blog to Blogger.

Well, I guess he did not listen to my advice. I have told hm that since he is starting from scratch, he might as well get his own domain, right? But no, he told me that he is using Blogger because he has no money to host his own.

If he had looked hard enough, there are low-cost hosting packages that will not burn a whole in his pocket. He told me that he needs a large hosting space to keep videos. Who asked him to keep videos? Shouldn’t he live within his means?

Surprisingly, he graduated from web designing from a foreign university and yet he claims that he does not know how to set up his own blog. Well, I do not know either and have complained much but I still managed to get the blog to the way I like it to be.

It’s disappointing that he is taking the easy way out by blogging on a free platform. I have been there and done that and if I started to blog now, I would definitely start with my own hosted blog.
