WordPress Designer Premium Theme Club Continues

A while back, I joined the premium WordPress theme club by WP Designer. After releasing four premium themes, the future of the club was a large question mark when the founder and designer decided that he needed something else in his life besides sitting in front of the computer. Boy, I need to make such a decision as well but it’s not going to be easy walking away from this kind of work. SALUTE!

Anyway, the club has found a new owner and I believe this person also knows something about creating premium WordPress themes as well or maybe he is going to hire someone to take on the task of coming out with at least one premium WordPress theme every month for 12 months.

Actually, the club fees is only US$5 per year which is already very cheap but the point of the club is to allow more people the chance to use premium WordPress themes for a low cost and I appreciate the idea behind it. Thankfully it will continue.

WordPress 2.5

Did you read about the upcoming release of WordPress version 2.5? It is said that this is not an upgrade of the current version but was built from scratch with what we are familiar with right now plus plenty of improved features.

I tell you, although I may only have ten blogs that are powered by WordPress, I am shaking already. I am really afraid of all the extra work just maintaining the blogs. I wish the developers will just release a “final” version with all the updated security patches once a year. That would save us WordPress bloggers a lot of time!

I read that the new WordPress 2.5 allows us to change the colour of our dashboard. Although I don’t like the current shades of blue on our dashboard, really, the colour is the least of my concerns. All I want from WordPress is the ease of publishing my posts. That’s all.

Premium WordPress Theme Club

Did I already mention that I registered myself with a premium WordPress theme club? Normally, registration fee is US$5 per year but I received my membership for free thanks to being in the right place at the right time.

And although I already have all the WordPress themes for my blogs but am on the other hand, looking for Blogger themes, I figured that since it is free, there’s no harm joining. I just have tor remember to unsubscribe before the year is up because I have no intention of paying for something that I could get for free, though they are not the same.

However, with ten self-hosted blogs powered by WordPress, I guess using normal WordPress themes is no longer enough. I now need premium WordPress themes but I will never willingly pay for them. Free, please?

This premium WordPress theme club promises that each member will have access to more than twelve premium WordPress themes and support during the twelve months of membership.

Although right now there is no theme that I want to use out of the four available for download, I am eagerly awaiting to see what themes will be released later. I am not sure if I will want to change my themes so soon again, though!

Automatic Back Up F@rked Up

I don’t know what is wrong, if it is the WordPress plug-in that is f@rked up or if it’s some other fancy elements that is halting my automatic back up. You know, last night, after finished blogging, I spent thirty minutes just trying to back up my blog. I was so mad because I was tired after a long day and I had to go out for a breather but here I was stuck at my computer trying to back up my database.

You may wonder why I need to back up my database. I don’t know how many people do it but I will do it after I have finished blogging. I don’t even know if it works or not but at least doing so gives me peace of mind.

But lately, I have to try again and again before I managed to back up my database. Last night was exceptionally bad, hence the need for this post to vent a little. LOL Hopefully, things will right itself soon, whatever that is causing this problem and I will be able to back up my blog database without an issue! I need an end to my frustration!

I Set Up Sub-Domain & WordPress!!!

Yahoo! I keng already! You know what? I helped my friend set up a sub-domain, installed WordPress for his new sub-domain blog and cleaned up his server. I also helped another friend of my fix her WordPress template. Tell me I keng or not? LOL

I know this is no big deal to you if you are well-versed in WordPress matters but to me, I have made tremendous improvement as a lost user of WordPress to now to be able to do so many little things and yet not afraid of messing with the server and themes.

Yes, I still have plenty to learn and I believe that I can pick up these tricks if only I have the time to learn them. See, I even managed to customize all my WordPress themes without asking for help. Whatever that does not work, just delete the codes lah.

Hahaha No sweat at all! Cheat a bit never mind wan, nobody knows!

Search Function Broken

I have such a monster headache now. I know part of it is because I am being too ambitious to try to get different themes for my blogs. However, for three of my WordPress blogs that I am using themes from the same designer, I discovered that the search function is broken.

Sometimes, I can search something from the homepage but once I go into inner pages, the Search doesn’t seem to work at all. This is the same case with all three of my blogs. I wonder if it is a design fault since it’s too much of a coincidence to have this same problem for themes from the same designer.

So I went looking for other blogs that are using these themes and used the Search to test it out but they work fine. Then why is it only mine that are not working? I left a comment on the theme page and it has been almost a MONTH and my comment is still under moderation. I think I might as well give up!

Now I don’t even know if I should continue using these themes. I love them and spent a considerable amount of time customizing them and the only problem is the Search feature. How? Any suggestions?

OOPS! I Did It!

I am so damn proud of myself! Just a couple of days ago, I wrote that I wasted a whole day trying to customize a supposedly premium WordPress theme. Well, although this is a premium theme, it is free but the bad part is that BECAUSE it is supposed to be an excellent theme but is being given out for free, many things were not functioning and it was is if the creator simply released a theme half-heartedly without adequate testing.

Well, you know how “good” I am with CSS. I really wanted to give up when the codes kept throwing me an error message after another. I wanted to change to another theme already but I persevered and I deleted all the broken functions that I could not fix and could live without them.

Even though I have got it customized with everything that I want in a theme, there are still a little here and there that are not perfect but I could close an eye to those imperfections.

I am so proud that I did not even ask anyone for help. At one point, I asked a guy, “Do you know CSS?” and he responded with, “What is CSS?” OK, I have to remind myself that just because he is a guy does not mean that he knows CSS!

That was when I decided to start deleting all broken functions to save myself from further headache! Haha!
