Update From Doris

As mentioned, Doris booked her vacation rental after making her selection from Hawaiian Beach Rentals. She said that there are so many beautiful ones listed on the online directory that even making a decision on which to get took her and her husband quite a while.

Doris said that at first, they really wanted to rent one of the Kauai vacation rentals but after much consideration, decided on Maui. There is no Hawaiian vacation if there is no Maui, her relatives told her so she listened to their advice.

Doris also read up online to get as much Hawaiian vacation information as possible and one of the great sources of Hawaiian information is from the blog of Hawaiian Vacation Rentals itself. It is not surprise, actually! If they, Hawaiian locals, do not have inside information on Hawaii, then who has, right??

In any case, I can’t wait to hear all about her vacation when she and her family return. She promised to get me a souvenir 😀

Exciting Hawaiian Vacation For Doris

Doris is getting exited about her Hawaiian vacation. She told me that she has received loads of Hawaii Travel Information recently from a cousin of hers who has been to Hawaii on numerous occasions for holiday and on business. She said that her cousin booked her vacations through Hawaiian Beach Rentals, a very comprehensive directory of vacation rentals that property owners listed for rent.

There is a wide variety of properties that would suit any vacation makers and business travellers, according to this cousin of hers.

Although Doris has booked a Maui condo for their family, she is now thinking of booking one of the beautiful Oahu vacation rentals as well. That sure sounds exciting, doesn’t it? However, Doris said that her trip to Oahu is not confirmed yet since she is not able to get leave off work for that long! Bummer!

Anyway, I believe that even if she is to go to Maui only, she would enjoy her holiday just as much!

Doris Goes To Hawaii II

I forgot to mention that Doris said that she planned a Hawaiian holiday because she heard her family’s stories of fantastic Maui Vacations and just has to go on one herself too and when her company declared a bumper 2.5 months bonus, she said there is no better time to go than this year. She said that she now has a son only. If she waits any longer, she may end up with more children making her trip more and more expensive. Haha! What planning!

The family booked vacations through Hawaiian Beach Rentals and recommended them to Doris and her husband. So far, Doris has been very satisfied with her communication with the staff of Hawaiian Beach Rentals. They are surely going to make her trip as hassle-free and fun-filled as possible.

All her talk about Hawaii and forcing me to read the Hawaii travel blog together with her has made me wish that I too can go to Hawaii for a vacation but my company has only declared one miserable month of bonus *sigh*

Doris Goes To Hawaii

My friend, Doris, told me that she and her family have booked a trip to Hawaii. What is a Hawaiian vacation without going to Maui? So they have made reservations for one of those beautiful vacation rentals through Hawaiian Beach Rentals. Doris, her husband and son will be there for almost ten days exploring the island that we have heard so much about and captivated by from documentaries and travel books.

I read that Maui revelers will most probably make accommodations at Maui condos instead of hotels. Condos are great for group travel, you know? It’s cheaper and provides more privacy too. I forgot to ask if Doris will be staying in a condo too since ten days is too long to stay at a hotel.

However, she did let me know that she made some planning by researching through a
Hawaiian travel blog so that no time is wasted in Hawaii! She promised to send me photos when she is back and I can’t wait to see them!

Vienna or Berlin?

You may remember that I am planning an overseas trip at the end of the year. I have had enough of domestic travel and yearn for a trip away from the country. I was planning to go to Vienna, Austria initially, but my German friend, Markus, came to visit over the summer and has extended an invitation for me to visit him in Berlin. OK, so now, Vienna or Berlin?

I went online to check for travel information on Berlin and Vienna. Make no mistake, even if I were to take up the invitation, I would still have to put up at one of the hotels in Berlin because I just don’t feel comfortable putting up at his place. Besides, he is sharing a place with another friend.

Hotels in Berlin are not that cheap because they are charging in Euro but they are still cheaper than the hotels in Vienna. No matter if I were to go to Vienna or Berlin, I will be looking forward to be immersed in the arts and old architecture. Berlin has many old castles and Vienna too has its fair share of preserved heritage buildings.

Actually, weather wise and culturally, I am not sure if there is a vast difference between the two countries due to their close proximity. It is just that in Berlin, I would have my personal tour guide but in Vienna, I would be alone, unless I can find someone who would like to accompany me. Perhaps I could invite Markus to a ski trip to Vienna too. That would be fun.

I can’t decide. Vienna or Berlin? I think I better book both hotels in Vienna and Berlin. After all, I could always take a road trip south from Munich and cross over to Austria or take a direct flight from Berlin to Vienna and enjoy the cultures and traditions of both cities!

Sydney Plans

Just now I had a chat with my friend Grace who lives in Sydney. She invited me for a visit, except that I would have to find my own accommodation because she is in the midst of renovating her house. Boy, I can live without the noise and dust and I would rather pay for my accommodation in one of the scenic Sydney Hotels.

Grace recommended Darling Harbour Hotels to me which she says is within walking distance to the many restaurants and bars and fine dining. Oh, she is tempting me with food! According to CheaperThanHotels.com, a 3-star Darling Harbour Hotel starts from AUD120. It’s kind of out of budget, though, unfortunately, but luckily too. I am fat enough and don’t need to fight off the temptation of food even in Sydney! That would be tough to resist!

I checked the rates of North Sydney Hotels and they look more affordable with prices starting from AUD59 only and the location is convenient too, just north of Harbour Bridge. I hope that I am lucky enough to catch a show at the Opera House. I think we need to book our tickets in advance too!

New York Trip Planning & Hotel Information

My friend, Paul, invited me visit him in New York. The problem is, I would have to pay for my own accommodation, although he has a house in the suburbs and a bachelor’s pad in the city. I could even sleep in his office but he is not that generous! Bah!

I wasn’t even sure if I could make it to New York for a holiday but firstly, I would have to check the rates of New York hotels and availability of rooms first. If I were to go, it would only be at the end of the year or early next year where I expect my work load to lessen but anyway, I still did a little homework on RealTravel where I could easily compare their rates and also find nearby tourist attractions. HHmm I don’t believe that I should depend on Paul to take me sight seeing even if he was the one who invited me. I don’t feel good taking him away from his work.

I think that I will browse through RealTravel more not only for New York hotels but use their free trip planner and read up on the real travel experiences of people who visited New York recently since RealTravel hosts free travel blogs.
