If you have been following my blog, you would know that I have started to drive again after not driving for the past 15 years or so. I recently bought a car, you see, and I have to rebuild my confidence on the road and in handling a vehicle. I am extremely rusty and my dad doesn’t allow me to drive alone.

Before I purchased this car, I told myself that I would like to enroll in a driving school for a refresher’s course not only in driving but also in traffic rules. However, I was quite shocked that going back to driving school is very expensive these days! It’s at least double what I paid when I sat for my driving test 15 years ago!

This morning, I came across this court approved online San Diego Traffic School that allow drivers who have been slapped with a traffic ticket or citation to take a quiz in traffic safety rules online. The best thing is that drivers can take the final part of the quiz over and over again until they score 80% and above and at no extra charge too. The certificate will be mailed out.

Taking such a traffic safety course will remove traffic tickets from a driver’s traffic record, reducing demerit points and lowering auto insurance premiums.

My parents have asked me not to drive for a few days to give my knee a rest. It was strained due to the 7.5 months that I spent taking care of my dog when I squatted for extremely long hours to be on the same level as him as he was incapacitated.

I went to see the doctor and he told me that there is no use taking an X-Ray as it would come up normal since damaged ligaments won’t show in X-Ray films. He told me that right now, the only thing that he recommends is physiotherapy. He said that if I was older, he would prescribe supplements to me but due to my age, if I get started on supplements now, I may have to take them for decades.

I used to buy Glucosamine for my dog and now I am buying it for mom. It helps with the pain in the joints of their knees. I am afraid I would be next. Well, for now, even though I am not allowed to drive my car, I will continue driving on the information superhighway.

A friend is getting married at the end of the year. With relatives and friends in almost every corner of the world, she is planning a Wedding website and is asking me to help her out and I have agreed. From what she told me, she plans to stream her own wedding reception live over the internet via her website.

I estimate that she is going to spend quite a lot on her wedding and asked her what happens if there is a glitch regarding any aspect of her wedding that causes her to lose money and sleep. I think it’s risky for anyone to put so much time, money and effort into planning a wedding and not get insured for that so that the wedding will run smoothly and even if it gets cancelled for whatever reason, monetary loss is minimal. My friend told me that with two young boys at home, she always have her first aid kit at home ready for any emergencies. One of her boys is already schooling and every day after school, without fail, he would be spotting nicks here and there, especially on his knees. As you can see, having a well-stocked first aid kit helps.

She also doesn’t have to run to the pharmacy because she gets her medical Supplies easily online. It’s very convenient, she says as she shops online from home and could easily check out specific supplies that are running low.

My friend told me that it is good to have on hand Burn care dressings just in case there is a burn accident at home. You know how curious kids are and they love playing with things that are dangerous around the house. I too have home medical supplies on standby, I don’t have any burncare products on hand. It’s time to change that.

If carrying three smart phones, including an iPhone and working on two desktop computers and a laptop, doesn’t turn me into a “geek”, I don’t know what will.

Recently, I have been looking at home improvement ideas, and even though i do not have my own home yet, i already have a rough idea of what I would like to do. I am someone who is doesn’t like fuss or hassle and prefer contemporary furniture over antique=style furniture anytime. However, currently; I am looking at furniture for geeks that would suit my lifestyle.

As I said, I like sleek designs and am more particular when it comes to bedroom furniture, mostly because I spend most of my time in the bedroom. Also, I would need a matching set of drawers with my bedroom furniture to store my cables, switches and other computer accessories.

Having said this, since I am someone who can’t keep my eyes away from the computer screen for long minutes, I would love to have furniture that could accommodate my laptop wherever I am at home. I read about a family that needs to have a drama playing on TV while they eat. As for me, I would need dining room furniture that would allow me to sit my laptop and other gadgets while keeping them out of the way of diners who may be clumsy with their food and drinks.

Oh, all these are just wishful thinking. I think it would be better for me to work hard for my own home first!

When I was on the road for a couple of weeks, i was worried that I would not have a place to settle down comfortably enough to work. I know, I was on vacation and was supposed to stop thinking about work but most of my work is done online and if I could take my work along, why not?

During those two weeks, my friend, who recently bought a laptop support from IKEA called Brada, loaned me his and I found it very useful. I could get online anywhere to do some work on the laptop, even in a moving car. Of course, I wasn’t the one driving. LOL

Now that I am home, I am thinking of buying a Brada too, even though I have no plans to travel yet. I recently bought a memory foam mattress, you see, and can spend long hours in bed since it is very comfortable and keeps me cool and dry even in this warm weather. I think that all the traveling has gotten me lazy and I have picked up the habit of working in bed.

Actually, it was also this same friend who told me to get Mattress Toppers but I decided to invest in a memory foam mattress. Come to think of it, he really knows how to get comfortable!

I am glad to note that my parents are getting the hang of operating a computer, though they only know how to email and browse the internet. My mother is especially finding it interesting to run searching online on questions that she has had for a long time but I haven’t found time to help her seek out answers. I’d head to the internet too, obviously.

However, I remembered to tell my parents that they should always read authority sites for more accurate information, whether they are looking for a beauty school in Wichita or symptoms of a medical condition.

In any case, I am happy to note that my tuition is finally bearing fruit. At least, now, they don’t call out to me every other five minutes they are at the computer.
