Win A Wii & Wii Fit

When I heard about the opportunity to win a Wii and Wii Fit from Leapfish, I thought that it would be a contest that comes with too many requirements since Wii is like the most popular game console right now, almost all my friends have it. I promptly forgot about it but was luckily reminded to check out the contest today, and I am glad to say that luckily I did as it is one of the easiest contests to participate in.

If you are game to Win a WiiFit From LeapFish along with a new Wii, all you need to do is to set LeapFish as your homepage. This gives you one raffle ticket.

Do the same with other computers you own or use, and receive a raffle ticket each. Invite everyone you know to join in the contest and you will receive an additional raffle ticket per referral. Obviously, in a contest like this, the more people you refer, the more raffle tickets you will have, hence the higher your chances of winning.

A winner will be chosen randomly on 23rd March, 2009 so act quickly and rope in everyone you know to join under you to increase your chances. I know that is what I will be doing!

Win A MacBook Air on Twitter

Twitter has been really popular since its inception but I didn’t like to use it at first because I started off following too many people and got pretty confused with the flood of messages everyday! Hahaha!

I do realize, however, that since Twittering, I have sent less text messages to friends, actually saving me money, since we get to update each other via Tweets! Now though, my main purpose of using Twitter is to update my Facebook status and also follow a few people who really have valuable information to share.

Last evening, I was lucky enough to know of this huge opportunity on Twitter to win a MacBook Air. I may not be a Mac fangirl but I definitely wouldn’t mind having a MacBook Air! I shot Ben Behrouzi a Tweet to be included in his awesome MacBook Air giveaway.

If you would like to Win A MacBook Air on Twitter, just send a simple tweet to @BenBehrouzi and let him know you want in before 31st March, 2009. It is absolutely free and you don’t even have to follow him if you don’t want to. I did follow, though, after all, the main purpose anyone would do something like this is to build his Twitter following, right?

WIN Charter High-Speed® for Life or Nintendo Wii!

Here’s goods news for all you internet addicts and gadgets junkies. I admit I am both and I am sure you are as well. So, listen up! Charter, the high speed internet provider, has launched an auction where you get to bid for their high speed internet package for life at your winning bid.

How much are you willing to pay for this? Starting bid for Charter High-Speed® for Life is $10 but I am sure people who know the true value of this package will place a fair bid. What you can do to estimate the value would be to calculate your own monthly high speed internet access subscription fee multiply it by twelve months and then fifteen years, though Charter is giving this package FOR LIFE. This package also includes a cable modem and wireless router plus free installation.

Auction starts on 12 March, 2008 and ends on 26 March, 2008. I am sure you would not want to miss this. Do note, though, that only people living in the service areas of Charter will be eligible to participate in this auction.

Charter is also running a very exciting sweepstakes where you are only required to pre-register for Charter High-Speed® for Life right now to stand a chance to win the Nintendo Wii. Tell me, who doesn’t want a Wii?? If you are interested then let me tell you in advance that purchase is not required, so GO FOR IT! Sweepstakes has already begun on 5 March and will end on 26 March, 2008.

RM88 Angpow From Advertlets

You know how I love to participate in contests. This morning, while checking my Advertlets earning, I came across their latest blog post where they are giving RM88 angpow to the first eight people to answer these questions correctly.

1. Advertlets has a new ad campaign for a new client that will run in multiple countries. Guess how many countries will it be running in?

2. February 14 is a significant date. As I am single this year, what will me and the Advertlets team most likely be spending the next few late nights working on, and announcing/launching on Feb 14? Hint: Most relationships are based on one person and how many parties?

3. When was Advertlets founded, and what will we most likely launch on our first anniversary?

HHmmm I love contests that are based on luck but this is really out of my depth. I mean, HOW would we know how many countries an ad campaign is being run in, unless we are working with them, right?

This is a total guessing game which I think surely there will be people winning since there are PEOPLE working in Advertlets and these people surely have friends who are bloggers. Bah… Don’t want to join lah, unless somebody can leave me the answers via Comment in time for me to be the first eight bloggers with the correct answers.

I could so do with the RM88 angpow and then I could cash out my cheque 😀

index.php Successfully Removed From Permalink Structure

A few posts back, I was wondering how to remove index.php from my permalink structure of my WordPress blog posts. Well, I spent a long time finding out and asked a few people. I was told to read the tutorial on WordPress Codex but you know me, I never can grasp anything technical or mathematical!

Well, my host did tell me that I should edit my .htaccess file and place the following code to the file and then save it.

At first, I could not find the .htaccess file. So I had to open an index.php file first and then edit the URL by deleting index.php and putting .htaccess in its place. if you are interested in doing this, here is the code to add to your .htaccess file.

I just copied the original file first and saved it in Notepad on my computer as back up, just in case I screwed up and then I the pasted the following at the bottom of the original code.

# BEGIN WordPress

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

# END WordPress

After saving the file, I logged into my WordPress admin dashboard of my blog, went to the options for Permalink and made sure that I selected a Custom structure and removed index.php.

I was a little worried at first, because I have a few blogs hosted on the same server and it looks like that all share the same .htaccess file. But luckily, the old blogs retained the old permalinks [I had no intention to change these blogs, anyway] but for the new ones, I have the pretty permalinks now which goes like this:

http://www.domain.com/year/month/day/post-title
http://www.domain.com/category
http://www.domain.com/page

I do not know if I will have problems later on with this permalink structure but I definitely love it better without index.php somewhere in there!

Pushing It!

I know that I am already very, very lucky to have won an iPhone. How about me pushing my luck a little further and try to win cash instead? I could do with a little extra spending money this Christmas. And my iPhone is naked and would need some clothes! Plus, I would need an Apple Bluetooth because the one that I have, a birthday present from a dear friend, is not recognised by iPhone. Bah … talk about monopolization!!!!

This morning, I was told that Blog About Your Blog is running a Christmas giveaway thanks to their sponsor, NeverBlueAds. Surprisingly, this contest was launched about ten days ago and I just found out this morning. Bah….. I am losing touch!

The good thing is that there will be three $100 and one $25 cash prizes to be won in addition to blog reviews and Featured Blog spot, a total of eight prizes. WHO WILL WIN????

Nokia E61i, iPhone, Nokia N810

About three weeks ago, I was told of this contest by Forumerâ„¢ and I thought that I would not participate. I already have a Nokia E61i and an iPhone, that many people would die for, but a free Nokia N810 *slurp* is impossible to pass up on. After all, it does not take a genius to submit an entry.

So, here I am, doing my part, letting the internet world know of this awesome contest that Forumerâ„¢ is holding to celebrate their fourth birthday and in the process, get more entries from you guys to compete against MY entry LOL Just kidding!

Look at the design, it sure looks classy but like iPhone, it does not support 3G connectivity! Too bad!! GGGgrrrrrrr But then like my friend says, Nokia has great designs, lousy products LOLOL I will take that as sour grapes-speak!!!
