Pictures of My iPhone, Finally!

I know this post has been a long time coming and to all who have been waiting for it, sorry to have kept you waiting! I received my iPhone a week ago exactly on my birthday, courtesy of Mr. Gary Lee, THE internet marketer, who ran a very successful iPhone sweepstakes sometime in July earlier this year.

I actually got to know of the contest from Phil the Contest Blogger and I thought I would not participate because Mr. Gary Lee wanted links to three different websites (a women’s deals site and a golf equipment site) and a link to the contest page. It’s not that I was stingy with my linking but I was lazy to read the requirements.

Also, Mr. Gary Lee said that blogs with PR0 – 3 would only get one entry into the contest and although I had PR3 for all my blogs back then, I only submitted ONE entry. However, after participating in this iPhone giveaway, I entered some other contests that purportedly gave away iPhones as well which unfortunately turned out to be iPhoney!

Long story short, I was lucky enough to be picked as the winner as you can see from this video that Mr. Gary Lee made, together with his business partner, Ms. Danielle. Thanks so much, guys!

When I received my iPhone package, which travelled half the world to me, I actually took a series of photos because this is what people do in an unboxing ritual. I did not do it when I was unboxing my Nokia E61i so I thought this is the chance for me to get pictures but they turned out like crap no thanks to my E61i for failing me!

I S.O.S.-ed my friend to help me with the photos which he did as you can see here. Two people, four devices. The LG KU990 Viewty, Nokia E61, Nokia E61i and the iPhone. Even with a professional photographer with a REAL camera, the photo did not turn out well.

He decided to mount the flash and still I was not happy with it!

Today, I decided to take new photos with an Olympus that is on loan. I don’t know how to operate it yet so once again the photos turned out badly. I don’t even know how to turn on the flash! lol It’s not camera problem this time but user problem! I did ask the owner to teach me to use it first but he told me to R.T.F.M. (Read The F******* Manual). I just want to tell him that I don’t like to read no f******* manual! JUST SHOW IT TO ME!! ……. but I did download it from the web and WILL have to read it later. Bah!

So here’s my post on my win! Yay! Happy! Happy!! Happy!!! And thanks to Mr. Gary Lee once again! This is the bestest [as if there is such a word] birthday present I ever had! Woooeeeeeeeeeee!!!

P/S: Now I know why it took me so long to write this post. It’s like writing an Oscar speech and I had to make sure that I did not leave anyone out. Not forgetting all the links!

I Wanna Win Some Stuff

This is an entry to win a freezing hot SEO package for my blog. As always, I enter to WIN but it will go down to the luck of the draw so I hope that I am lucky enough to win. All these links in a short post isn’t really a good idea but what the heck, my blog can’t get more injured than it already is!

If I do win, my headache will be, which blog to revamp? Haha I have so many, I lose track of them myself! Wish me luck!

Freezing Hot, an Internet marketing company specializing in small business seo and ppc management, is running a contest and giving away a search engine optimization package worth $400 to the winner. Check out the contest on their internet marketing blog and subscribe to the RSS feed. And be sure to check out Contest Blogger, the number one source for prizes and free samples.

LinkWorth’s Contest Worth Joining

I received an email regarding the launch of LinkWorth’s in early November but I have procrastinated in my post. Yes, I am the queen of procrastinator! Anyway, November is my birthday month so I am going to try my luck while waiting for my iPhone to arrive. GGGGrrrrrr!!!

I have been a LinkWorth partner since the beginning I think. I don’t really know when LinkWorth was set up but I saw that they were heavily advertised on Google AdSense. So I signed up (no, I did not click on my own ads, OK?).

After signing up, I got so confused that I never did anything about submitting my blogs or set my price! I did not have the time to explore until a couple of months later. And then LinkWorth decided to change the layout of the user-control panel and supposedly made it more user-friendly. It’s still a little confusing and daunting to a new user but this is only because LinkWorth offers an all-in-one monster blog monetization program where we are paid per post, paid to place a link on the side bar AND MY FAVORITE: Dig a keyword out from my archives and place a link of the sponsor/advertiser to the keyword. I understand that this is a monthly recurring charge just like those sidebar text links.

Can you imagine NOT DOING ANYTHING AT ALL and get paid for your old written work??? That’s the best, I tell you!

I know that there are more features that LinkWorth has that I still do not understand. If you are not a LinkWorth member yet, join now. I am their partner where I share 50/50 with them but that is fine with me. If like me, you are confused with the many things that LinkWorth offers, all I can say is: CLICK ON ALL THE TABS!

Win Free Domain & 12 Months Hosting

There has long been a debate about hosting our blog on our own paid domain. Many people have the impression that people who use free hosting are not serious about blogging, but as a blogger with my own hosted blogs and blogs hosted by Blogger, I can say that I prefer free blog over paid hosting only because of the technical support. I guess I can say so for Blogger, but I am not sure about the other free blog services.

Today, I had the opportunity to check out the web hosting plans of Top Hosting Center. As I have two hosting packages myself, I can say that what are being offered by Top Hosting Center are competitively priced. The package that costs $3.95 is ideal for new bloggers who do not yet have much traffic while small enterprises could take advantage of the low price of Top Host Special Package that costs $4.95 per month to host their website. Of course, bloggers could take up this package as well, after all, the difference in price is slight but Top Host Special Package comes with so many more features.

If you are still unwilling to take the plunge to into paid hosting, the good news is that you can win yourself a year of Top Host Special Package and a free domain name. What you have to do is blog about why owning your own blog hosted by yourself is important.

This competition closes on 15th November, 2007 and Top Hosting Center has already lined up two judges to judge the entries. The top three entries that are adjudged the best will win prizes in the form of hosting packages. First prize will be a year of Top Host Special hosting and a free domain name as mentioned earlier while the second and third placed bloggers will win a year of Mega Plan 1 hosting that costs $3.95 per month.

What I like bout these prizes is that you are free to cancel your hosting at any time within the first twelve months. If you like the service you can then extend your hosting with Top Hosting Center after the twelfth month. There is absolutely no obligation for you to continue because you did not pay any advance or provide them with your credit card details.

If you do not yet have your own hosting, why not give this a shot? I already paid for my hosting just a month ago, but I too may try this if I have the time. I could always do with a new domain and hosting package!

An iPod, Please!

If you are a regular reader of this blog, you would know that I have made numerous attempts at winning an iPod by joining blog contests that offered an iPod as a prize. So far, I have not been successful not for lack of trying but rather Lady Luck has failed me miserably.

If you have read those posts, you would know that I always put in my best effort, simply because I would really love to win an iPod. If there is one word to put it, it’s DESPERATE.

It can be pretty VERY boring commuting to and from work every day, including Saturdays and Sundays on a bus full of strangers that are just waiting to make small talk. If I could carry music with me in an iPod, strangers would not bother me when I don’t give them a reaction since I can’t hear them with my ears plugged! That would be a perfect excuse.

You are probably thinking that I should BUY my own iPod. I know but just this week, I requested a cheque from Advertlets for RM110 and it is only expected to arrive in December, just before Christmas I hope, and it is still way short of the price of an iPod.

The lucky thing is that Advertlets and Faces magazine are giving away exclusive prizes to members and one of them is the iPod. I am hoping to bag this prize! Just for the record, I have been a member of Faces for years and I am not only now registering with them just so that I could participate in this contest.

I have entered many contests on Faces and never lucky enough to win. I hope that this iPod will make up for all the past disappointments.

Another Shot At A Free Apple iPhone

Was just surfing randomly just now and came across this blogger giving out an Apple iPhone 8GB in a contest. Some of you may remember that I have participated in a similar contest earlier. Well, just in case I don’t win that, this is my backup entry!

Rea Maor is the author of this blog, Ask Rea Maor, a tech blog but it also has other topics like jokes and his journey into monetizing his blog. One of my favorite posts is “Top 20 Excuses Why your Wife or Girlfriend Should Let You Have Five More Minutes On the Computer“. As someone who literary lives on the internet, I certainly could relate to that joke piece!

Although there isn’t any real requirement to participate in this iPhone giveaway, you still have to read the Contest information and Rules page, to make sure that you are following the rules.

I sure would like to win this iPhone 😀

An iPod Nano Will Do Too

You know what? If I can’t win an Apple iPhone then an Apple iPod Nano would be a good substitute.

Michael and Ed have asked for help to name their new site that is dedicated to hockey. We’ll have to come up with a name for the site and check for the availability of the domain name from GoDaddy. Well, I’ve got it and hope it’s creative enough to bag me an iPod.

There’s another chance to win as well for participants who make a post on their blog linking to Ed’s personal blog and Michael’s freelance writing site. See, it’s not that difficult, is it?

Coming across their contest page gave me a chance to check out the blogs of Michael and Ed. I had a laugh reading and watching Hard Gay on Ed’s personal blog. Hard Gay is hilarious and outrageous! Michael’s site is dedicated to his professional writing services and he blogs too, in excellent English.

Win or not, I think I’m gonna be a regular reader from now on 😀
