Gourmet Gift Baskets For Someone Special

I think I live on the internet too much when I prefer shopping online over shopping in malls! Ah, the crowd, I can certainly live without it! Christmas is coming soon and it is time to look for gifts. I found out not too long ago that gourmet gift baskets are the “IN” thing to give. I think it is a very cool idea because we can select what we would like to put in the basket and everything else will be taken care of.

Gourmet gift baskets will be especially appreciated by people who love fine wine and rich food, like my dad *ahem* Also, what I like about giving gourmet baskets is that I can order baskets that suit my budget because there are so many types that cater to different recipients.

I checked out iGourmet for the first time this morning. They are a family owned company that specializes in gourmet food and gifts. I believe that should I order my gift baskets from them, my baskets would be packed and wrapped with professionalism.

Browsing through the gift site and checking out the images, I am just so tempted to buy every single one of them but I must resist! Gourmet gift baskets are only for special people in life. Do you agree??

What do you plan to get for your family this Christmas?

How Many Googles Are There?

Have you ever wondered how many variations of Google are there? Although I have Google on my bookmark, I still find myself typing the address out on my address bar every time I want to Google something and with the speed I type, and this dang keyboard that I changed and STILL not get used to the spacing of the keys, I most of the time type wrongly. It could be anything that starts with a G, have two Os or two Gs and ends with a dot com and STILL get redirected to the real Google Search Engine.

I wonder if others are doing the same thing as I am or if I am the only perpetual mis-speller. Perhaps I am not alone if Google can think of buying up almost all the mis-spelt domain names and have them directed to their real search engine.

One day, I am going to list out all the different spellings and see how many I can discover hehehe I am sooo free!

Acne Information

Over the weekend, I met my old classmate, Wendy. She has clear porcelain skin even back then. Although we are of the same age, I felt tired and old being next to her because of my bad complexion. People who do not know us would surely think that I am older but in fact, I am younger by months. Also, I admit to feeling inferior and suffer from low self-esteem no thanks to the wayward pimples on my face. I know that I can look as beautiful as the next person if only I could rid myself of acne once and for all.

I have tried many over the counter as well as prescription drugs but nothing worked for long. They do give me a slight improvement when first used that make me think that I have found a solution but it goes back to square one after some time.

After meeting Wendy, I came home and once again read up on acne causes. Why can Wendy have such a clear complexion while I can’t? Is it our genetic make up? According to an authoritative website on acne, they are caused by a combination of factors including hormones, excessive sebum, follicle fallout, bacteria and inflammation.

When I first suffered from acne, I was told that it’s the hormones and that everything will pass when I am 20, but it’s been years since then and I am still suffering from it. Personally, when I am stressed out, I can feel acne popping out. I wonder if it is a good enough excuse to still be suffering from acne at my age, that I am under stress!

If you would like more information on acne, what are the main causes of acne, how to prevent acne and to make yourself feel better that you are only one of the 25% of adults who is suffering from acne, do check out www.acne.com

List Of Search Engines

Although I have a handful of blogs, most of my traffic is from organic searches. It is a wonderful feeling when people look up for information on certain keywords and land in your blog. This is the reason I like the check my traffic stats to see where people come from. This is also the way I managed to discover quite a few sites.

It is surprising that there are many search engines around even though my primary search engine is Google and if Google fails me, I may use Yahoo and Windows Live but judging from people who found my blog, they use other search engines and blog search sites as well. My default blog search, by the way, is Google Blog Search.

Anyway, out of curiosity, I did a search on the internet to see how many search engines there are and came upon this page on Wikipedia. While I know that Wikipedia is not 100% accurate, the list of search engines on the page is pretty exhaustive and there are some that I never even herd before.

If you are interested in checking what search engines there are, check out the page in Wikipedia.

The Voice Over Talent Named Don Capone

Just now as I was surfing the internet looking for things to write, I decided to check my bookmark and came upon the website address of Don Capone, voice over talent that I wrote a couple of times before previously. I have forgotten that I have his web address in my bookmark. I remember that when I first know of him, I was very impressed with his voice over talent and just now, when I listened to his voice over demo samplers again after such a long time, once again, I am impressed all over again!

If you do not know what I am talking about, you should hop over to Don Capone’s website right now and listen to his talented voice and you will understand. However, according to the website of Don Capone, Don is not merely a voice over artist or voice talent but also an actor and a personality. I don’t remember seeing him in any movies before, so I think by actor, they mean that he acted in commercials too, apart from providing voice overs.

The list of work that Don Capone has done in his career as a voice over talent is very impressive and they include commercial work for Fortune 500 companies. Check his site out, will you?

One Million Love Messages

I have been online for quite a few years now and have surfed to hundreds of thousands of websites and blogs. The other day, I was blog hopping and someone mentioned about the site, One Million Love Messages.

Just now I had the chance to check it out and boy was I blown away by the feelings that have been expressed so openly on a public domain and the emotions that were shared.

This site is very real and makes a great read when we sometimes feel like we are in the dumps and that no one loves us. This is also a great place for people who are skeptical about love *sigh*

From what I understand, the owner of the site is receiving love messages from love birds all over the world and he is publishing them online as they come in the hopes of hitting one million messages. If I remember correctly, I read that he hoped to meet this target by Valentine’s Day 2008 but I can’t seem to find this target on the website.

Anyway, I love the concept of this site and I wish I was the one who thought about it!

WRYN – Where Are You NOW??

Even before I have the chance to register myself with Gather or Facebook, not that I am interested in either one, I have been receiving invitations to join this site called WRYN. I checked the site to find that it actually means “Where Are You Now?” Who would like to know where I am now? Most probably at the computer blogging away, there’s where!

Anyway, from what I understand, these are social portals where people join to meet new people. However, what good is it when every site you join where you are supposed to “meet new people”, you are inviting all your current friends to join as well. You might as well not join but just chat on an instant messenger!

It seems this site is perfect for people who travel a lot and they can inform their friends where they are, log their trips and meet people who are in those places. But of all the people I know who travel so much to warrant a tracking like this, seriously, they do not have the time to leave a virtual trail.

Of my friends who invited me to join them on WRYN, I wonder how many of them actually travel more than once a year.
