Draft Still Can Read?

The other day, an advertiser played punk and refused to pay for my work done. All thirteen of them! I was told to take them down and keep them in my draft folder so I did. Unfortunately, that was already ten days the posts have been live and Google has already spidered and indexed my posts.

So I was very unhappy and told my friend that it is very unfair for the advertiser to just ask us to remove them all when he already has received link juice from our blogs. My friend said that it is possible to remove the post from Google’s index. I don’t know how and I am afraid that I would remove my whole blog from it. DIE! 😀

Anyway, sometime later, I saw that somebody went to Google Search to look for that particular keywords of the advertiser and guess what? No prizes here.

Well, that person managed to find my post and he could read the FULL text of my post including the image! Darn it! I know because I also clicked on the link just to see if it would return an error.

See, bloggers are actually the losers when advertisers decide to play punk! GGGrrrr

Your Virtual Roma Tour Guides

One of the things we need to do before going on vacation is homework. If you are planning a trip to Italy and Rome in particular, Roma Click at http://www.romaclick.com/ is the website you must not overlook. This site is run by a local Roma couple, Paola and Mauro, who will introduce Rome and Italy to you as if they are your very own tour guide. What better way is there to be shown the other side of Italy than by locals born and bred there and know Italy inside out like the back of their hand?

If you are looking for Rome accommodation, Paola and Mauro have plenty to recommend but if you are looking for those five star Rome hotels here, you would be disappointed. Who needs one of those cookie cutter hotel chains anyway, right?

The site is so full of information, I felt I learnt a lot just browsing through and reading the articles. I have the idea that if you are planning a group trip, it would be awesome to book one of the beautiful Rome apartments and it is cheaper too. Since most of our holiday budget is spent on international flight and accommodation, it is wise if we could save a little on accommodation. Roma Click is here to provide us with such information helping us plan our Italian vacation seamlessly.

Bloomberg Also Uses AdSense

Yesterday, while reading Bloomberg.com, I was their AdSense ads. I have been reading Bloomberg.com for a long time but I just noticed the Ads. Perhaps these ads are placed at the bottom of the page, which I never scroll that low, only till the end of the article. Perhaps I am ad blind already and do not see the ads at all. Perhaps these ads blend in so well that I thought that they are a part of the layout. But yes, I am surprised that they NEED to use AdSense to subsidise their cost of running an online media site.

All along, I have noticed local English media sites using Google AdSense too and I wonder if web savvy people ever click on them. I think only people who have not heard of AdSense will click on them though, because as an internet user for so many years now, I can calculate the number of times I intentionally clicked on an AdSense ad.

I think that media sites and forums are only getting their AdSense revenue from page impressions. I may be wrong though. I hope that I can be privy to such data 😀

Dot EDU

There’s this advertiser on one of the marketplaces seeking blogs with DOT EDU to write a review of their product. The offer has been sitting there for ages and no one is able to accept it. The pay rate is darn attractive, though, at $33.50. I wonder if there is any blogger who has already submitted a review without reading the description thoroughly.

I remember a long time ago, a jewellery advertiser was so mad that people kept submitting reviews for his website even though he only wanted jewellery blogs. I don’t remember how much he offered anymore. I think it was $100 or something close to that. I don’t know if the advertiser returned after that bad episode. I think not.

Right now, I think bloggers are more mature. At least they learn to let go even if they did reserve the offer without reading first. The speed that these people are reserving offers is just plain scary. They don’t even give the description a quick glance before hitting reserve!

Shopping With Coupons From Coupon Kathy

I enjoy shopping online and always try to look for suitable coupons and discount codes so that I can save some money. The joy in finding just that coupon is half the fun in online shopping. I spend a considerable amount of time checking out coupon directories and sites and I know I should not or I would continue to spend but then this is the privilege of being a woman, right?

This morning, I was introduced to a coupon site called Coupon Kathy. Now, I have been to many sites like these before with different levels of user friendliness. Coupon Kathy stands out for its simplicity and easy step-by-step guide on applying the coupon codes found on the site. Simply put, Coupon Kathy is easy on the eyes without distracting us away from the task at hand, i.e. to look for the perfect coupon.

I found a Sharper Image Coupon which enables me to save $100 off $500 which is perfect for the gift of the Magellan Maestro 4050 Portable GPS which is selling at $699.95 at The Sharper Image and which I have been in two minds if I should buy it for my friend whose birthday is coming up soon and I know that he would be very happy with this gift since he is a GPS freak.

Using this coupon which I found at Coupon Kathy which helps me to save $100, I think it is now within my budget! See, if you would only spend a little time browsing through sites like Coupon Kathy, you will be able to save money even as you shop! You don’t even have to compromise on your shopping habit.

Minimum 400 Words, 2 Images, 3 Links X 2

The other day, I received two sponsored assignments from an advertiser via email and I took a glance at the payout rate and was quite happy with it. I did not have time to work on them at once. In the evening when I wanted to write them, I nearly passed out when I read the requirements.

Yes, the advertiser wanted at least 400 words, 2 images and three links, and I received TWO assignments. Each for $10 (only). Urghh! Normally, I would NOT take up assignments from advertisers with ridiculous requirements but since these were emailed to me, I took them because rejecting them may jeopardise my position with the company and they may not send me assignments next time. Haiihhh

I just wish that advertisers would not take advantage of the system where we are sent assignments and I would feel bad about declining, just in case, you know? If and when they want to nitpick, they can!

Anyway, I did them submitted and they are approved. So let’s just wait for 30 days for the payment to come in.
