My friend sent me a text message asking if I have downloaded Firefox 4. I haven’t and I am not someone who must get something as soon as it is launched. Firefox is my default browser and because of the many add-ons I use, I am not going to use a new browser version just because it’s said to be so much better, because I know there would be a lot of add-ons that will not work with the new version yet.

I also didn’t download and install IE9. I do have IE on my computer which came with the system since it runs on Windows but I hardly use it unless I want to test out website layouts or something so I don’t see the need to upgrade to IE9. The difference isn’t much, is it? Since upgrading my system, I didn’t even install Chrome.

This isn’t to say that I don’t accept changes. I’ll only upgrade my Firefox once my friends confirmed with my my favourite add-ons are compatible with FF4!

Apple is suing Amazon for the use of the term “App Store”, claiming trademark violation. Apple believes that they are the first to call applications “apps” and the first company to use the term “App Store”. Applications on an Apple Mac have the extension .app so there’s no denying that.

While some people think that it’s such a small matter to involve litigation, apparently, Apple doesn’t think so. Well, it’s funny. Imagine Google taking everyone to court for using the word “Google” when what they really mean is to search the internet using the Google search engine.

Well, it’s going to be interesting to see how this court case will turn out. Amazon, I think, has nothing to lose if they just change the name of their new applications store.
