Those of you who are in Kuala Lumpur this evening and would like to show solidarity with yesterday’s ISA detainees, editor of Malaysia Today, Raja Petra (RPK), Sin Chew Daily reporter Tan Hoon Cheng and lawmaker from the coalition front, Teresa Kok, should participate in the peaceful candlelight vigils that are being organised, one in front of the DAP HQ in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya at 7.30pm and one in front of the Bukit Aman police HQ in Kuala Lumpur at 8.30pm.
The ISA has no place in modern society. Whether these three ISA detainees are in the right or wrong, ISA should never have been applied. A report on Malaysia Kini says that the journalist, Tan Hoon Cheng, may be released today. Come on, she should not have been arrested in the first place, right?
The horrible thing is that there is indication that more people would be detained under the ISA and I tell you, the scary thing is that if this could happen to them, this could happen to us. God help us.
