Technorati Issue Resolved Once Again

Well, you may know that I was one of those unfortunate Technorati users who were affected by the known bug issue of not being able to PING Technorati. The first time round, my Technorati problem was solved after more than three months as soon as I published the Podcast with David Sifry.

I thought that finally everything is well and good but I was wrong. A few days after that, another of my blog had the same problem. Maybe the problem has been there but I did not notice it, I don’t know. Anyway, again, I wrote in to have my blog respidered by Technorati. I didn’t want to bug the customer service staff so soon after they resolved one issue, really, but that is the only way I could let my problem be known.

So I wrote to them about the new problem and was prepared to wait for another three plus months. Much to my surprise though, I received news that my blogs are now in order. Yay! This time it took about three weeks maximum to get it done. Their customer service has improved so much compared to the three month plus wait the first time round!

The All Important Google Page Rank

As you know, I have been trying very hard to increase the Page Rank of my blogs when the next Google Page Rank update happens. To gain that increment, I need more free backlinks and I am trying my best from now till then to network and let people know about my blogs and hopefully they will hook me up. There’s no denying that I am aiming for a Page Rank of Five this time. I achieved the Three that I wanted the previous round and hope that a Five is what I will hit this time.

Understanding that not all incoming links will be taken into consideration, I am thinking of getting twice as many backlinks as needed so that even if 50% of these links are cancelled out, I still have a considerable back links coming in.

Apart from networking, I am also doing research on how Page Ranks are determined and how I can increase my Page Rank, hence improving my search engine rankings. I came across a 2.5 hours worth of workshop in audio file where we could download for free at www.backlinksworkshop.com

This is indeed a very informative and useful workshop explaining the whole works of the all-important Google Page Rank. Well, it IS very important to me, what about you?

Google’s Picasa It Is!

Between my post Which Photo Storage/Sharing Service? and this morning, I have managed to migrate more that 700 images from my Yahoo! Photos to Picasa. Yup, I finally decided on Picasa. Don’t know why I decided on Picasa but it is pretty easy to use. The loading is faster than Yahoo too, in general, considering that each album can hold a maximum of 500 images compared to Yahoo’s 300 which spans a few pages.

Whilst I may have moved more than 700 images in one night, yes I work fast :-) there are still some images left that I don’t want to keep any longer. God knows why I kept them in the first place! So I’m just leaving them in my account until the service is terminated. Strange that I still did not receive any official email notification from Yahoo! about this.

Did you know that Google offers 1GB worth of space for each Picasa account? That’s a lot of images to store! The only gripe I have about Picasa is that I can’t sort my albums by NAME and there is no upfront usage meter. I saw it somewhere but it should be on the home page.

Anyway, I’m so glad that one task is completed. So now I can concentrate on blogging and link building again! Wwwwwhhheeeee!

Help For Struggling Teens

Over the weekend, I caught up with my cousin’s son whom I have not met in a long time. He told me about the problems that his friends are going through which I feel could be easily overcome with they are guided through this seemingly tough years of their lives.

Carolina Springs Academy – School For Struggling Teens was one of the schools that my friend reviewed when he was looking for a suitable school to enroll his daughter in.

He told me that this school has one of the best education program with emphasis on core values like integrity, honor and respect. Lessons are tailored according to individual students so that each student can benefit the most from its program.

Unfortunately, after doing all the research, my friend’s daughter refused to attend the Academy but my friend never fails to share his findings.

Which Photo Storage/Sharing Service?

I am sure by now everyone knows that Yahoo! Photos will be shut this autumn. What to do now but to move my photos? There are a few hundred photos stored in my albums. Yahoo! and Photobucket are the only services that I am using but Yahoo has the bulk of my photo while Photobucket is more like for hot linking of images.

Truth be told, I don’t have preference one over the other. Both offer an “OK” service only, in my opinion.

So now that I have to move my photos somewhere, where is a good place? I have Flickr but I registered that account just so that I could view my friends’ photos!

I am thinking of Google’s Picasa but that is more like a sharing service. My usage is more towards storage first and then sharing a handful of photos now and then. I would love to house all my photos under one site. If possible, I would also want to move my Photobucket photos to the same storage and sharing site. Well… let me remember where I have linked my photos to!

Aihhh headache, hate decisions! Where to keep my photos now? I don’t want a second shut down :-(

Understanding Plastic Surgery

Recently, there is a lot of talk about Plastic surgery in Malaysia after a lady became a victim of a quack doctor. It is a very pitiful case because she only did it because of low self-esteem. I feel that if one wants to get a plastic surgery, she has to be well-informed about the task, advantages, disadvantages and consequences.

One way to get the information is through the internet and to participate in a Plastic surgery forum where one could get the support, patient experience of any kind of plastic surgery like Breast reduction or Liposuction.

Personally, I have no guts to go under the knife. The most I will ever do to beautify myself is to go for a Laser hair removal session.

CosmeticsMiracles.com is a great plastic surgery resource site. I managed to get a lot of useful information from the site. Although I have no plans to get any surgery myself, I do have lots of friends who are keen to get a nip here and a tuck there. I believe that I could help to spread the knowledge among my friends who are interested in plastic surgery but may not have easy internet access. All in all, an easy to read and understand website written in layman language.

Will BloggerW.A.V.E Pay?

I have read some pretty bad things about this company from bloggers who blog for them. I don’t know how true they are so I am not going to repeat. I don’t even remember how long I have published their posts but definitely more than a month now.

Sometime back, I received a mass mailing from them saying that while most of us did a great job, we need to add their image to our posts. I don’t see any image in their opportunity though. So I wrote in to ask which image they mean but what I got instead was a membership verification link. I mean, “Duh!”

Some people have already been paid this week (let’s pray there’s no charge back) but I still have no news about my payment. I only wrote three posts for them because I was not sure if we could write the same opportunity on different blogs. Some of my blogger friends did it and their posts were approved although it is stated that each blogger can only accept an opportunity once.

Anyway, I am impatiently, silently waiting for my payment. It’s not much but it’s still money owed, you know what I mean?

Update: Great news! BloggerW.A.V.E did send my payment a couple of hours after I have written this post.
