My friend, Paul, is always telling me that I can be whatever and whoever I want to be. He knows that I have a slight chip on my shoulder for not being able to complete my college education due to financial difficulties back then. And I think that is true because I see so many people accomplishing much more in life with worst set backs then me.
This morning, I was told that Tubus Racing Team will be taking on the challenge of Dakar 2009, if everything goes as plan. I have always been interested in Swedish affairs because my friend, Carey, is half Swedish now by marriage!
Most of us do not know that the driver of Tubus Racing, Pelle Wallentheim, is a cancer survivor and the fact that he is now taking on Dakar is a real motivation to all of us and shows us that we can take on anything that is thrown at us in life and come out tops. Some of you may know that I lost a friend to cancer not too long ago and it brings tears to my eyes to know that there are people who survive cancer. I will definitely be cheering for Tubus Racing Team come Dakar 2009!
Check out their ride, which is sponsored by Isuzu who will also be sponsoring the team in Dakar 2009. In fact, Tubus Racing Team is the only Swedish team to receive sponsorship. I guess the sponsors do see their talent and determination! Both Pelle Wallentheim and his co-driver, Olle Ohlsson, have twenty years experience in motor sports competition and Dakar 2009 will be a good avenue for them to test their skills and experience.
The paint job is sponsored by Jotun as you can see from their website. I was told that we could vote for the paint job but I could not find it anywhere on their website or blog. So for now, let’s just admire the car.
