Work and Volunteer Abroad

If you are a regular FaceBooker, I am sure you would have noticed the advertisement on going on a volunteering trip abroad. I checked out the site and we have to pay in order to be in the program. I did not like the programs offered but that gave me an idea to look for similar volunteer programme abroad.

Work and Volunteer is a website that I chanced upon that also offers similar volunteer programs. There are a few different programs that we can enrol in namely funded internships, paid internships and vacation language courses.

I think that it is great that there are such programmes made readily available for people to participate in. It is actually a win-win formula for both parties involved. One person gets to learn a new language or almost-free travel while the other party gets a volunteer.

I actually wanted to look for a volunteer program when I left school but we did not have the internet back then and there was no way I could look for such a volunteer program to participate in.

Most programmes on Work and Volunteer are for citizens of a European Union country but living in the United Kingdom who are above 18 years old. While for some programmes, the participant has to pay to join, some even will pay the volunteer an allowance.

I think this provides a wonderful opportunity for people, especially new graduates, a chance to see the world!

One Hour Ahead

There’s something wrong with the time of my servers. Each time I want to publish a post, I have to REMEMBER to adjust the time one hour back because the sere time is now one hour and a few minutes a head.

I want to let my host know about it so that he can write to the hosting provider. It has been a week now and they still did not realise it? Unfortunately, my host is no where to be seen online and I bet that he ha gone off shore again. Bah… it’s not easy to get in touch with him anymore but he’s a very helpful person that’s why I continue hosting with him.

Anyway, as long as I remember going back an hour, I will be save. Otherwise, I will be accused of adjusting my timestamps and we don’t wan that to happen AGAIN, do we?

Riddled With Family Debts

People who know me personally know that my family was in a huge financial dump about ten years ago. In act, the debt incurred was so huge, we are still paying it off little by little.

Some people think that going into business is all great but they never mention that one wrong move could cost you your home and family. Well, almost in my parents’ case.

What we did was to get to work. All of us. For myself, I compromised my college education. Till now, no one believes that I did not attend college like everyone else my age. Well, they do not have a huge debt to settle. I Did, I still do.

We handed the money we earned to our mother, who despite not knowing much about proper Debt Management, I have to say that she managed the debts pretty well, keeping tabs on whom to pay off first, whom to negotiate a lower interest rate or ask for a halt in interest charges so that we could just offset the principal only.

Life has not been easy riddle with so many debts but we have been managing fine by the grace of God and as long as we keep earning, we can manage to settle the monthly installments that my mother came into agreement with the creditors.

My friend told me that even if I may have family debs to shoulder, I should not forget to live. Well, it’s hard because at the back of my mind, I only have one thing: to rid the debts so that I could start saving for the future. My future.

How Many Posts Did I Write Today?

Or should I say YESTERDAY since it is already 1am right now! I really lost count of the number of posts I have written yesterday but I know I wrote at least fifty posts. I know that my fingers are all stiff now already and I can hardly think of anything else except blogging until all my posts are completed

I have no time to reply to emails, no time to blog on my passion blogs and no time to chat with my friends on MSN. Yes, I have gone missing again, buried by work. And no, I can no longer spell right. Thank God for MS Word for helping me catch all my misspellings!

My friends who are on the same boar as I am are all zombified too. LOL But I think I am one of the hardest workers because I woke up at 6 freaking am this morning to get my work started! If not, I will feel way more stressed out that I am right now!

When I see my other blogger friends writing way more than me, I wonder how they do it. How can anyone humanly keep dozens of blogs? I keep “only” fourteen and I can see that I hardly have time to network. Naturally, some have more traffic than others but then I don’t care for traffic for my passion blogs..

Anyway, I hope to be able to get back to them real soon. Like maybe in two days’ time? LOL

Comparing Balance Transfer Credit Cards

A friend wanted to know how many free Balance Transfer Cards there are. Hmmm this is a tough question as there are so many different cards flooding the market by different financial institutions. While some people claim that credit cards are evil and tempt us to spend more than necessary, it is all up to us how we control the use of credit cards.

So I told my friend that he should do a little comparison research on credit cards with Credit Card Search Engine where he would be able to check out the pros and cons of each card. But first of all, he has to decide why he wants the credit card for and shop according to his usage to enable him to get maximum benefits.

Also, by using Credit Card Search Engine, he would only have to compare credit cards from leading financial institutions and credit card issuers.

Keyword of the Day

The other day, my friend told me that the keyword of the day is “Kelly Tan E Li” and asked me to pwn it. As you can see, I did not write any post on her, who suddenly became popular due to a Valentine’s Day marriage proposal via an advertising billboard that her fiancé placed. Well, he’s in that business and yet still spent RM54K for one month. Some people think that it is a ridiculous amount of money to “waste” while some people think that it is a good deal but if you know that advertising budgets can run into millions, RM54K is really only a drop in the bucket.

Anyway, I don’t seek out keywords of the day to write my blogs. What I do is write what I like and if I do hi the jackpot and traffic comes in via search engines, I am delighted. Delighted because traffic like this would be like a bonus to me and I did not purposely manipulate the search engine results positions by bolding my words or whatever.

Blogging is a passion and I believe that many bloggers will tell you that the yare perfectly happy to blog even if there are not that many readers. Traffic comes and goes, but the passion burns on. Correct or not?

Posting Frequency As A Celebrity Gossip Blogger

There was a debate sometime back on the posting frequency of a blogger. I always believe that as a blogger, I post when and how many times I want. BUT some readers get annoyed when they see so many posts in their feed reader or whatever. Well, just unsubscribe, if that’s too much to swallow.

Anyway, I came across an article on being a successful celebrity blogger. According to the writer of the article, whom herself is a celebrity blogger, some people post as many as thirty times per day! As a celebrity blogger wannabe, running two new celebrity blogs, I really take my hat off to people who could post thirty times on the same blog per day.

I could probably do that as well if I have only one or two blogs to maintain but I have more than a dozen, man, each with different content and all I could do is post on every other day, the most.

Like these past couple of days, I have absolutely neglected my passion blogs while posting like mad on my cari makan blogs. Cari makan more important, you know?
