Robots.txt or Not?

I’ve been wondering lately if I should have a robots.txt file or not. In the early days, I did not have it but later I read that we are supposed to have it to guide search engine spiders on which links to crawl and which to ignore. So I uploaded it to all my WordPress blogs.

Lately, I have been getting crawl errors which are actually not errors but a direction from my robots.txt of not crawling those links. I hope you are following me!

However, I am sick of seeing those errors. I don’t remember if I used to have these errors but they are adding up lately!

I asked a few people who have been hosting their own blogs longer than myself and they said that they do not use Robots.txt. They just allow the spiders to crawl ALL links. That should be the case, though I read that it puts as as risk for duplicating content or something. HHmm makes one wonder if we should or should not use robots.txt.

Buy Radiators On Radiator.com

I mentioned in a previous post that a few of my friends cancelled their car orders. Well, they have to face the reality that they can no longer afford a new car. Heh, neither could I.

However, there are a couple of them who would be happy with a used car and it’s an added bonus that they do know a thing or two about cars so they could refurnish their used cars and they would be as good as new.

A friend found himself a Mustang and was smart enough to look for a Mustang Radiator online that would be perfect for his car model. I believe that it is not easy to look for radiators for car models of old but then one can get any radiator from Radiator.com!

If you are also looking for used radiators, you may want to check out this website. It’s easy to navigate to the car model of your choice and if you encounter a problem, you can drop them a note or even speak to someone via Live Support!

RSS on EntreCard

If you have a blog with EntreCard, I am sure you will know that once you publish a post, you will have your latest post published o the homepage of EntreCard.

Well, the problem is that, with twenty active blogs that are linked to my EntreCard account, there was not once that I noticed that my post is on the front page. Twenty blogs and not even once! Is that weird or what? Yet, I see the same blog posts stuck on the homepage for hours… and not too long ago, for DAYS!

No wonder I also did not notice any additional traffic from EntreCard from their homepage. HHmmm what is wrong? I NEED traffic no matter which corner of the web they come from.

Lowering Car Expenses With Cheap Car Insurance

A few of my friends cancelled their car order because they could no longer afford a car which they thought that could. Well, with the escalating fuel prices, there are many things that we no longer could afford.

However, there are some other friends who were “caught”. They took delivery of their new car just prior to the revise of fuel prices. For people like these friends, they seriously need cheap car insurance to try to lower their expenses. However, with so many companies offering auto insurance, it is not easy to know which one is the cheapest without compromising on the policy.

I tried to get a cheap car insurance quote on MacZoop.com and it is a fairly simple process. I was required to provide my zip code and whether I hold any car insurance for the past thirty days. The next screen, I have to provide a little more details of my car but there’s nothing complicated too. I love the fact that I could do this insurance rate comparison online at a user-friendly website and at my own pace.

If you are looking for cheap car insurance, it is up to you to do the research and compare the rates. Since you can do it so conveniently at MacZoop, there’s no reason for you not to!

Unfriendly Blogger Labels

The labeling system of Blogger has got to be one of the most un-user-friendly features of Blogger. It seems like the more they add to Blogger, the worse it gets. I know that labeling has been around for a long time now but then when you spent hours labeling your old posts, the flaws become just too obvious.

If you remember, I spent some time recently labeling my old posts on my WordPress blogs and also Blogger blogs. It took me more than twice the time required to label the same number of posts.

Not only that. After labeling, I had to go over them because there would be wrong labeling without comma hence making two labels into one. And this is only one minor issue. Bah… it’s a waste of time but had to be done. Too bad it can’t be friendlier!

A Career Of Choice

A little while ago when I wrote about how my friends and I wanted to have a flight attendant career, some people saying that this job is no longer as it used to be. Well, after that unfortunate incident of 9/11, many people were afraid for a little while.

However, at a recent education fair where I had the chance to meet up with many fresh school leavers, they told me that it is still a career of choice and they are even attending a flight attendant school to gain an edge over other job applicants! I am amazed. There was no such thing during my time. Or maybe there was, but I did not know about it!

I was also told that there is a very useful flight attendant blog of The International Air and Hospitality Academy that those who are planning a career in flight attendant could read. Not only is it informative, it is also entertaining!

I do think that it is important for those who plan to be a flight attendant to know that they will have to enhance their chances of being a successful flight attendant by enrolling in a flight attendant school!

Updating Old Blog Posts

The other day, while blog hopping, I read from a blog that was supposed to teach us how to be a more successful blogger, that we should update our old blog posts with newer, more relevant information.

Well, with a few thousand blog posts published, I do not see how it would be possible for someone like me to take the time to update our posts. I would only do it for a couple of really hot posts that people look at as “authority” posts or one which has an evergreen topic that people would continue to search for.

But to do it for every post, or even the majority of the posts, nah, I don’t think so! However, I believe that blog readers should be savvier in looking at the date that the posts are published, so that they would be able to gauge how relevant the issue is at that point in time.

What about you? Would you want to spare some time going through your old blog posts and updating them with more up-to-date information?
