Dream Miami Beach Condo

My friend, Paul, who is an architect, told me about the amazing architecture of Apogee Condo Miami Beach. You see, it is not easy to impress Paul since he himself is an award-winning architect but when he told me about Apogee condo, I just need to check them out. Of course, I am only able to browse their website. Owning a unit would be a dream come true!

Apogee Condo in Miami Beach caters to the rich and famous (maybe!) people in America and around the world. This is like their holiday home where they could come in a helicopter or a boat since the marina is just nearby.

If I have the money, I too would love to get a home there. It’s not because I want to rub shoulders with the rich and famous when they drop by, but I love the feeling that I am on vacation the whole year round even if I may be holed up at home working!

Lousy Celcom Flash Website

I have been a subscriber of Celcom for more than two years and I tell you, each time I needed information from their website, I am made to click on every link looking for the information and yet fail. I then end up calling their Customer Service line!

I know I am not the only one and it is not because I am stupid or not web savvy that I am not able to get the information that I want. I have talked to many Celcom customers and they all tell me the same thing.

If you talk about new Celcom features or whatever promotion that Celcom is running, nobody would be able to obtain the info from their site and depend on advertisements in the papers or brochures from Celcom offices.

That’s why I always say, it is no use to have a flashy website that nobody could obtain the information they want!

HSPDA Router

While all my friends who are subscribed to 3G connectivity are using USB modems, I am thinking of getting a HSPDA router. At first, I too wanted to get a USB modem to replace my mobile device which I have been using as a modem.

I wanted a dedicated modem for a more stable connection but then the mobile shop guy recommended me a HSPDA router which I could connect multiple computers, laptop and other wifi internet enabled devices to my single 3G line. This is so tempting to me as we have two computers, a laptop and two internet enabled mobile devices at home, including the iPhone.

The price for the USB modem is about MYR599 while the price for an HSPDA router is about MYR1099. Both are China-made products, both come with one year warranty. The price difference is only MYR500 but the USB modem is a single-user modem while the HSPDA router is a multiple user modem! Urghhh….. what else is there to think about except the cost??

Shopping For Paintball Gear & Equipment Online

My friend, Jenn, just picked up paintball. You know, it is not played so much here in my hometown than in the capital city but she is so passionate about the sports that she travels down to join her team mates for paintball every weekend! She told me to join her too but I really have no time for any sports at all. I would watch her if she was playing here, though, but not to the point of traveling more than 200km just to play, or watch!

Jenn asked me if I know of an online store that sells paintball equipment. She knows that I shop online regularly and wonders if I have come across any store that specializes in paintball gear and accessories. She told me that she wants to buy spyder paintball guns and although they are available here, they are so expensive!

I really could not comment on the prices here since I have no idea but I do know that she would be able to purchase discount paintball equipment and other paintball items from Zephyr Paintball. How much she would be able to save, I cannot tell. It depends on how clever she is shopping online!

Hotmail Trickles In

If you have been following my blog a little while back, I am sure you will know that I have an issue with Hotmail where I discovered that some of my emails never arrived. I am uncertain if they just got eaten up, or have been miss sent to another email address, like the Gmail glitch, but I know that they just did not reach me.

Lately, I don’t even know if I should laugh or cry. I have been receiving some email from way back! As an example, a friend dropped me a message through a forum. I did not get the email alert even though I set it to alert me.

So no, I did not get the alert and only discovered the message when I log into my forum account. The thing is, two weeks later, I would be getting this email alert in my Hotmail! I know that there’s a possibility that it could be a problem with the forum but this is just an example and there were many instances where the email which should arrive has been delayed for ages!

I don’t even know which email I could depend on thoroughly. Hotmail is so unreliable sometimes and Gmail is f@rked up too by sending a wrong email to me!

Blog Dismissal From PPP Marketplace

I read with dismay that some blogs have been kicked out of the PPP marketplace. Dismissing blogs is one thing, not providing a reason is another. How then could a blogger improve on his/her blog if he/she does not know why the blog no longer qualifies for the marketplace?

That’s terrible, I tell you. I hate the fact that it is so FINAL with no reason given and no option for the blogger to clean up the blog or revamp it sometime later and seek re-inclusion. Even Google allows for than, isn’t it?

I guess that now that the blog pool has grown so huge, they could keep or kick whatever blogs they like without having to provide any feedback or input. This is just like a summary judgment where an advertiser could ban a blogger based on blog color or worse, skin color. Of course, this is just my personal opinion and no, I do not really know how this “quality control” is implemented.

It’s The Radiator

In a way, I am so glad that I do not own the car. I know nothing about cars and if it breaks down on me, it will drive me nuts! A friend has been complaining to me that there’s something not right with her car. Of course, I could not be of help.

This lady knows a little about cars, not too much but to save money, she tried to determine the problem and then buy the part and replace it herself. She spent such long hours just checking and then it was only much later and too much frustration that she discovered that the problem was from her radiator.

I told her that I do not understand why she tried to fix her car herself. The time she spent is also money and would be able to buy her two radiators already!

Just check the prices of Radiators on Outlaw Radiator and you would know what I mean. They sell discounted radiators and they are really not that expensive. My friend was certainly very foolish indeed!
