Look At My New Theme!!!

I’m so happy!! I spent a few hours customizing my new theme! How do you like it? I’ve finally got a place to embed the code for Scratch My Back. I hope someone would scratch my back… it’s ONLY $2!!!

It has been such a long time since I started searching for a three column theme and I am glad that I found one that I like and not have to “put up” with it!

My friend says that this theme is very neat and yes, that’s exactly what I have been looking for and finally found it. If I could use POOL, which I don’t really like, for twelve long months, how long do you think that I could use this? I am not going to change it so soon, since I just spent three hours customizing it. Yea, I know I am slow! I wonder how long it took the creator to come up with this theme!!!

My God! I Finally Found A Great Theme!!!

Yay, this morning, while reading my friend’s new blog, I suddenly went to check the credits of the theme and clicked on the creator’s site and found the perfect theme for this site. The theme is called Pop Blue and it has three columns. Yay… I have been looking for a clean three-column WordPress theme for ages. And I wanted one in blue colour as well…. just to stick to this colour scheme. Like I said, Pop Blue will be perfect for me. And it is a free theme. Yeah, I know, I am cheap.

Just now, I changed my theme for a while and it looks like something that I will be willing to spend time tweaking and personalizing to fit my own requirements.

But I have been so busy with some other kind of work and my mind is still in a holiday mood. I wonder when I can finish with my customization to spruce up my blog after one long year using POOL. I can’t wait. I wish I have someone to order around to do the “dirty” work for me!! LOL

WordPress 2.3.2

I’ve got news a couple of days ago that the new WordPress 2.3.2 has been released and ready for download or update. When was the last time that I updated my WordPress from 2.3.0 to 2.3.1?

According to the WordPress development blog:

WordPress 2.3.2 is an urgent security release that fixes a bug that can be used to expose your draft posts. 2.3.2 also suppresses some error messages that can give away information about your database table structure and limits and stops some information leaks in the XML-RPC and APP implementations.

And there I wondered why some people could still read my posts that I have moved to the Draft folder after publishing it and changing my mind!!!

I tell you, I am so lazy to go all technical with my blogs. I love to write but not get myself worried with technology. This is one aspect that I prefer free blogs as opposed to self-hosted domains. Bah…. with quite a few blogs, I would have to spend half a day on this.

And there I was feeling kind of ambitious and thought of moving a couple of Blogger blogs to their own domains and reviving them, for passion!

Stuck With This Template

I am so frustrated with trying to change this template that I have given up and resigned to the fact that I am stuck with this one. Don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this template except that I want a widget-ready three-column template so that I can place “Scratch My Back” that I joined ages ago and one that looks professional.

I actually found one but then it needs so much customization that I don’t even know where to start. And I wonder why the name of my blog does not appear, but the name of the template does, on my header.

I have learnt that if I am not up to modifying a template, I would have to just move on. There is no use to bug people for help because they would only curse and swear behind one’s back even if they agreed to help.

So it’s either I continue to search for a very simply template or continue using this. I think I have no choice because I have so much work to do!!

I Wish I Knew CSS

I found a handful of WordPress themes and tried to install them on my blog but unfortunately, all of them seemed like they have something wrong with them! I know I am a fuss pot but then I think I have sieved through 80% of the available WordPress themes to date and have installed more than 50 different themes on my various WordPress blogs and yet I could not find one that is perfect.

If I have CSS knowledge, it would be easier for me to modify the themes but CSS is worse than Chinese for me so I would have to ask for help but the only person who will unwillingly help me has gone to Qatar and will not have access to the internet at long intervals. I feel bad even bothering him with something like making my blog pretty.

After one year, I have gone bored with this template and I want three columns! Gah! Somebody, anybody, please help me!!!

It’s Time For A New Theme!

How time flies! In the blink of an eye, I would have blogged here for a year already. Where did time go? And in this very hectic year, I have to admit that I did not have time to make my blog look more interesting. Pool is the only template that every graced this blog and I have stuck with it for far too long already. I would not say that I love it or am thoroughly satisfied with it because it is a two-column template and is not widgetized. In fact, when I first started my own hosted domain with this blog, I had a hard time figuring my codes. They certainly were very different from Blogger’s HTML codes!

Actually, I had wanted a new theme for a long time and in fact, I I think that three-column themes are ideal. I uploaded a few themes on my server but never gotten around to do the dirty work. I am afraid I would leave some code behind in the old theme and then some stuff may not work well on my blog anymore and I would somehow have to dig them our again. It just means WORK to me!

I hope that I could find a theme that I like well enough to willingly go through all the trouble. HHmm have been trying to install Scratchback for weeks but I guess that will only happen when I have a new theme.

Why You Don’t See Your Comments (sometimes)

If you are wondering why your comments are not approved and published then please let me clarify that I will not approve comments made by “Teeth Whitener” or “Faux Wood Blinds” or “Wooden Garage Door” even if your comment is totally relevant to my post and does not contain any link.

If you are a legitimate commenter with a proper name and linking to your blog and yet do not see it published, then I am sorry. It must have been filtered to my Spam folder and deleted.

I’d just like to mention that unlike previously, I no longer have the time to go through my Spam folder and de-spam legitimate comments like I used to. It isn’t 100% fool proof anyway. Sad to say, I can no longer spare the time and the slew of spam comments keep growing and growing.

So, if you would like to reach out to me, just drop me a line through my Contact Form.
