If you remember, I wrote a post about my friend, Warren, who quietly got married without informing any of his friends. I still think that it was awful of him but he has a secret fantasy of eloping with his bride so the bridal couple went on an adventure to New Zealand. I guess I should not be surprised because Warren has always wanted to tour New Zealand extensively and he even said that he will retire there one day.

Now that he is a new father to a baby boy and we have forgiven him for his secrecy only did he let us in on his adventurous honeymoon. He said that at first, he booked hotels in New Zealand on the web before flying in.

Firstly, Warren made accommodation at one of the hotels in Auckland. He decided to make Auckland their starting point and then travel from there. From the Auckland, which is on the North Island of New Zealand, Warren and his bride traveled south to Wellington where they put up the night at one of the scenic hotels in Wellington.

They also went to Mt. Cook National Park and Queenstown and even Otago. Upon their return, they stayed a couple of nights at one of the hotels in Christchurch, then Nelson and back to Auckland.

Warren said that it was a honeymoon of a lifetime and would like to make a return trip, this time visiting different places of interest. Wow… that sure sounds like an awesome trip and I wish I could just take off for a vacation like that!

Of all the holidays that I managed to take, come to think of it, not one of them was a cruise. I think it is because of my fear of the sea because I can’t swim. But my friends who have been on cruise vacations told me that I should try it out at least once for the experience of a lifetime.

Moreover, they told me that I should not miss the very popular Alaska cruise vacation that is currently being offered by TravelStore.

I was curious about the cruises that TravelStore have besides the Alaskan cruise. I was told that TravelStore is a premier company offering luxury cruises around the world and that surely piqued my interest! Luxury is the operative word here and god knows I need a luxurious break from work badly!

If I could go away on an ultimate vacation without worrying about breaking the bank, I would totally choose to go to Monte Carlo, Monaco. I have always wanted to go there since I as a teenager. I think I watched too much TV that made the country so alluring to me but it is not known as the playground of the rich and famous for nothing, you know?

I think it is because I was afraid of the cost that kept me from actually going there and have so far been going to other holiday destinations that do not have the reputation of being only for the rich and famous. I definitely am neither rich nor famous and so have shied away from Monte Carlo all these while.

However, now that I know of the website HotelsByCity.net, I think that I can finally plan this ultimate vacation by using this comprehensive hotel guide to help me find cheap hotels in the city.

The more I read the Monaco country guide, the more I want to just pack my bags right now and hop on the next flight out. After reading what Monaco has to offer, I believe that I definitely have chosen the perfect holiday destination for my ultimate dream vacation.

When I was in school, I used to have so many pen-pals and most of them were from European countries. Many of them will travel to Spain during their Summer holidays. Why Spain, you may ask? According to these friends, Spain has one of the best night life scenes in all of Europe!

When my workload gets too heavy, I just wish that I could escape and get a much needed break in Spain. HHhhmm I can imagine myself dancing the night away in a popular night spot in Spain where nobody knows me.

I am still keeping plenty of holiday photos these pen-friends sent me, including shots taken at nude beaches LOL And there are shots of the hotels where they stay and shots of hotels where they wished they could afford to stay, like the very famous La Ramblas Hoteles.

I wish that I could plan my vacation right now but I don’t even know when I will be able to get time off work. By the way, the image that I am including in this post is a shot of one of the Barcelona Hoteles that I found on the web. Don’t you think that it creates a very romantic ambience? I could just imagine myself staying there for months on end. Sigh… if only life is so carefree!

My friend, Paul, told me that if I plan to go to Italy, there is no better time to go than now. he knows what he is talking about because he just spent the most romantic Christmas in Rome last year.

If you have read my blog, you will know that I was invited to visit Italy a long time ago but it did not work out, unfortunately. Till today, I have harboured dreams to visiting some of the most romantic holiday destinations in Italy.

According to Paul, he had the chance to put up an a Roma hotel with the most amazing architecture. Since he was already in Italy, he thought he would make a trip to some of the top spots in Italy like Florence, Venice and Milan, besides Rome.

In Venice, Paul said he was lucky to have found the perfect accommodation at a Venezia hotel. Paul is an architect by profession and he thoroughly enjoyed the architecture that Italy has to offer. He thinks he is lucky to have the opportunity to stay at a Milano hotel and similarly at a Firenze hotel of very old architecture.

If you look at this photo I have included, you will know what I am talking about. This simply puts us all in awe of the craftsmanship of the Italians! They are not only romantic and sexy, you know?

I wrote recently that a friend asked me if I have no care in the world and could go off for a month long holiday, where would I go. After checking out various popular holiday destinations, I have decided to be a little more adventurous and go for a Mediterranean holiday. Whether I will be able to make it is another matter but dreams are free, aren’t they?

Countries in the Mediterranean are becoming increasingly popular among savvy travellers as they have a wonderful culture and tradition due to their unique location between Asia and Europe so they have influences from both continents.

If I were to take a holiday to the Mediterranean, of course I would be doing the smart thing and visit a few places. The places in my “must visit” list would include Malta, Cyprus, Crete. From what I understand, Crete, Cyprus or Malta hotels are usually fully booked during peak holiday season so it would be wise to book your hotels online.

I know some websites all us to make reservations for up to a year ahead while some could offer us last minute deals so no matter how we plan out vacation in the Mediterranean, make sure that you have your reservations at one of the Malta, Cyprus or Crete hotels confirmed!

I got to know that budget Cyprus hotels start from as low as EUR24 only and I think that is a great bargain. It’s not as expensive as I thought they were. Perhaps with prudent planning, my dream Mediterranean vacation would come sooner than later!

A long time ago, I used to know an Italian boy, Luca. He invited me to visit him and his family but I never did manage to make that trip. Soon after, we lost touch due to life and work. I have always regretted missing the chance and told myself that should I go, I would want the guidance of local Italians because nobody knows the country as well as someone born and bred there.

I recently found out that Rome, which is the capital city of Italy, is one of the top vacation destinations for Malaysians. I wonder if they have a problem with the differences in our language but I guess that with a comprehensive Rome accommodation guide like RomaClick.com, we would not get lost!
