Product Recall: Trasylol

These past few months, I have written quite a number of posts on product recall. I shudder to think that these are the very drugs that we depend our lives on but because of some manufacturing defect, not only are these drugs not helping, they are even killing!

The latest product recall that I was told recently was this Trasylol Kidney Failure drug. I only got to know of it a couple of days ago, although this drug was already known to cause kidney failure and started to withdraw from the market in November of last year.

Because there are so many patients who were unaware that there were given Trasylol, many did not come forward with their cases when the side effects of Trasylol were first discovered.

Right now, Mark & Associates, P.C. is helping patients by giving them free consultation and also guiding them on seeking compensation from the manufacturer.

Maimun Yusuf [Tok Mun] Parliamentary Candidate Of The 12th Malaysian General Elections

I was so caught up in the 12trh Malaysian General Elections that I did not even find the time to write a post on Maimun Yusuf, a 89-year old lady who decided to be a parliamentary candidate in the 12th Malaysia General Elections that was just concluded.

I read that Tok Mun, as she is more popularly known as, has two young chaps helping her with her e-campaign and they set up a blog for her, a Facebook profile and recorded plenty of videos of her and published on YouTube.

At 89, many people were wondering why she even bothered to contest but contest she did and is now on her way to the Guinness Book of World Records.

I really gotta salute her for still being so strong and healthy and even running for a Parliamentary Seat! You should see the number of news reports and blog posts Tok Mun generated around the world!

“Let’s Set Up Websites and Blogs”

Did you read the news report on the press conference of Dato’ Seri Dr. Lim Keng Yaik that he made on the day he cleared out his office? I found it so funny that he told his Gerakan people to start websites and blogs to criticize the new alternative government. HAHAHAHA

I wonder if I was the only one who found it damn funny. I think that he’s like a generation late because the internet revolves so fast setting up a blog now with the sole intention to criticize the Government, who will want to read? How many RPK can there be, right?

Can you imagine, now that he has retired from active politics and become the advisor to Gerakan, he has so much time on his hands that his learns how to blog, together with Zam, and then both of them start to criticize the Government with their new platform LOL

Breaking News: PAS’ Nizar Is New Perak MB

So the Regent of Perak has selected Pasir Panjang state assemblyperson and Perak PAS secretary Mohamad Nizar Jamaludin as the NEW PERAK MENTERI BESAR while DAP Perak Chief, Ngeh Koo Ham has been appointed as Deputy Menteri Besar I. The Deputy Menteri Besar II will be an Indian.

I think that the Regent has been very fair in his selection in the posts of MB and his Deputies. As a Perakian, I have been concerned that the longer this appointment is delayed, instability will set in since the margin of Seat distribution is so narrow. The longer this is delayed, the bigger the chance that some people will turn into frogs.

So with an Alternative Front heading the State of Perak, let’s hope that there will be a brighter future for the State and her people.

Political Tsunami In Penang Led By DAP

With one voice, one heart and one vote, Penang folks have shown the world the definition of the “People’s Power”. Many people have sensed a political change in the air in recent times and it is not surprising when there are so many factors that cause unhappiness and dissatisfaction among the Rakyat.

While there were fractions who disagreed that Dr. Koh did not name his successor as Chief Minister of Penang, in retrospect, his safe play has been a blessing to the person that he would have named. Who would want to be told that he [or she] would be the new Chief Minister in the new State Government only to see the awful performance of the party in this 12th General Election?

I think this win in Penang by DAP along with PKR and PAS is loud enough to the Barisan Nasional Coalition to buck up. Voters are now more politically aware, more politically mature. They know, as seen in this example in Penang, that they DO have a say in who stays and who leaves.

And, they do not have to make noises in kopishops but to exercise their fundamental right as a citizen to vote. Like I said, vote wisely as every vote counts.

Ground Report On The Penang Election Rally

If you have been following a couple of blogs, you would know that there was a “climax” election rally in Penang earlier this evening. I received a text message just now from a friend who told me that close to a HUNDRED THOUSAND people turned up to hear Uncle Kit, his son Lim Guan Eng, and many other people from the Opposition front.

Can you imagine a hundred thousand people wearing red showing their support for DAP? Another person reported to me that there were fifty thousand people at the Penang Ceramah. Who is more accurate, I really cannot tell.

But the numbers are really not that important. The question is, will these people convert their support in the form of votes for DAP candidates and the Opposition in general?

This is really hard to tell. Penang has betrayed Uncle Kit once before. This time, is their support REAL or are they just there for the carnival atmosphere and just to listen to what these politician-celebrities have to say?

Time will tell.

Nicola McLean To Return To Page 3 Of The Daily Star

I read an article titled, Model ‘back after boob job’, recently that British model, Nicola McLean, who received her big break as a Page 3 model of the Daily Star plans to go topless again. Well, you may or may not know that Page 3 of the Daily Star has topless models. OK, frankly, I can’t imagine that happening over here in Malaysia but that’s the way it is in the UK.

The article also mentions that Nicola, who made her first appearance as a topless model at 18 years old has had a breast enhancement surgery. Now she is only 25 and she says that it is time to show off her new body again.

I think that it is a personal choice if we want to get a plastic surgery. We may look perfectly fine to others but if we feel that getting a little nip here and a little tuck there would make us feel better, then by all means, do so.

However, always be sure to only go to certified cosmetic surgeons who are specially trained to perform these surgeries and not get one from Doctor Quacks. You know, it has been said that cheap can’t be good and good is not cheap and it can’t be truer when it comes to cosmetics surgery!
