Over the weekend, I caught up with my cousin’s son whom I have not met in a long time. He told me about the problems that his friends are going through which I feel could be easily overcome with they are guided through this seemingly tough years of their lives.

Carolina Springs Academy – School For Struggling Teens was one of the schools that my friend reviewed when he was looking for a suitable school to enroll his daughter in.

My friend, Lawrence, told me the good news that he will be based overseas soon. He will be an expatriate, earning expatriate income! Since the day Paul introduced me to the world of fine art, I have been looking out for art galleries with online presence. Partly because I live in a town without an art museum so I did not know how to appreciate fine art previously.

I met up with my high school friend, Yvonne, last week. She migrated to Canada when we were 15 years old, without completing her education here. Many people thought it was a risky move to uproot like that but I think her parents made the best decisions of their lives.

Yvonne came back to Malaysia to visit an ill relative. She could send flowers too, but a personal approach makes a lot of difference.

Yvonne told me that back in 1990s, Canada has already progressed way beyond what we had in Malaysia. Even now, she could see the vast differences of these two countries.

Anyway, Yvonne told me that to see the differences, one would have to live there. She told me that after wok, she is taking up recreational cooking classes which none of her friends here are able to do due to the long working hours and low pay that could not afford extras like these.

Yvonne said that I should go and visit her sometime and if I do, she would take me sightseeing and at least visit the top ten York attractions. She also has two used Honda scooters that we could ride on for countryside excursions. My, does that sound tempting!

My cousin went to America on a work trip. She and her colleague had to attend a convention. She came away impressed with the event planning which she said she will always remember California by!

My friends told me that there are many unscrupulous people who try to take advantage of talents by telling them they have to pay to attend auditions or that they can be fixed up for a fee. Some of them were naive enough to believe these.

I believe that my friends do have the talent to make it big in show business but they lack the connection. Show business has got to be the toughest and most competitive business in the world but the rewards are great.
