Technorati Authority Jumped

If you did not participate in My List, then that’s too bad! Submission is already closed. The good news is that after I added my blogs in, Technorati Authority for Blank Canvas jumped twelve notches and ** An Anonymous Journal ** jumped eight notches.

While I have previously joined a couple of DoFollow and Triple P Blogrolls, the link network was not as obvious as My List. Not that I could see anyway. After I joined DoFollow and Triple P, there was no link back that was detected and no Technorati Authority jump. However, the link backs only came in from the comments that I have left on DoFollow blogs.

Now, THAT is effective but it takes a lot of time when you have to visit the blogs, read them and leave constructive comments. Well, it’s rather fun but time consuming, like I said.

I never really paid much attention to my Technorati because it was screwed up for a long time but now that the issue is resolved, it’s time to build up my authority.

Now, I don’t really know what is so special with My List that the effect is almost instant. Perhaps it is the way they are written. Something about web-standard but, hey, who is analyzing as long as it works??

Award Winning AntiSpyware Software

Just now, I received a cryptic message that I had to decipher. The message came like this: SHX OGUONPR ZI RWP MAEJ ZUSBO-VCJSFPX OPKJCBLUSBP SGDURMPR

I went, “Uh-oh! How am I going to decipher that?” Here I am, someone who doesn’t even understand Da Vinci Code but luckily, I found a website to help me decipher that. Yes, I cheated a little, so? Hehehe

Anyway, the real message reads: SPY SWEEPER IS THE MOST AWARD-WINNING ANTISPYWARE SOFTWARE

I was pleasantly surprised, of course. If you have read my previous posts, you will know what happened to my computer. My computer is a work tool that I can’t afford it to be down at all. I take care of it the best I could and protect it like I protect young and helpless children! That was why when my computer was cured by Spy Sweeper, I bought it straightaway.

And as a user, I do agree that Spy Sweeper is one of the best, if not the best antispyware software in today’s age. There are so many programs available but they seriously fall short against Spy Sweeper’s standards. I am really not surprised that it has won so many awards from PC World, Smart Computing, PC Advisor, PC Pro, Softpedia just to name a few.

The good news is that now they are offering $10 off regular price. I did not get to enjoy that when I bought it but I am going to spread the news to friends whom I know need spyware protection. Who doesn’t need anyway? A friend told me that the only way to prevent our computer from an infection is not to go online with it. Well, how could we do that when we have to work online? The answer lies in spy sweeper!

Win With Geeky Speaky

As many of you know, I am a freebie lover who scours the internet for freebies and contests! My, I have won many things when I was into this passionately but I am running a dry season here. Heck, how could I win anything when I did not even submit my entry?

Well, as luck would have it, I discovered this exciting geeky contest by the ever so generous Colleen. Every month, she will be hosting a contest and giving away geeky prizes where the winner will be decided in a drawing. Now, living in Malaysia, I always feel sidelined by companies who are running contests but Colleen is opening up her contest to anyone living in any corner of the world. Not only is she forking out the prizes from her own pocket, she is also going to pay for international shipping. All together now.. aaawww

For the month of June, from 1st until 21st of the month, the grand prize is a 1GB flash drive while the booby prize is a Futurama DVD. Now, the flash drive will definitely come in handy because I will be buying a laptop soon. Even though I already have two desktops, one has a faulty floppy drive and I could only transfer my files via USB ports and I don’t even have a flash drive *gasp*

With the addition of a laptop, I would be having a difficult time transferring files from either one of the machines to the other or both. Now you understand why a flash drive would come in so handy!

I don’t even know why I am letting you know about this contest and dilute my own chances at winning but hey, the more the merrier, you know? If you would like a shot at winning a prize off Colleen, hop over to her blog, Geeky Speaky, to read the rules and regulations.

May the best win! Good luck!

Attack On My Computer

I went to my friend’s house and we played some computer games and was shocked to discover that he did not protect his computer with an anti-virus program. Well, he is a guy and he should know!

Last month, my computer was stricken with a Trojan that totally crippled it. I couldn’t even use it at all. I connect to the internet and it could but none of the data from the internet could be displayed on screen. It was very weird.

I could not even research on my problem online because none of the web pages would open! I called up my regular technician and he told me to run my anti-virus program which I did. He told me to empty my virus vault, defragment my disks and then restart my computer which I also did.

After three hours, I gave up! I was about to cry even because I had so much work pending to do and here my work tool is broken!

My technician took pity on me and told me to bring in the computer so that he could run Spy Sweeper for me since I do not have it. Viola, it just took a little while to catch that culprit. Spy Sweeper was so effective that I bought it right there and then.

No way do I want to ever experience that again! My friend accused me of visiting porn sites and other junk sites but I swear I never! Trojans, spies and viruses could lurk in any websites and then pounce on unsuspecting visitors. It is best to keep the computer protected at all times, you know?

Technorati Issue Resolved Once Again

Well, you may know that I was one of those unfortunate Technorati users who were affected by the known bug issue of not being able to PING Technorati. The first time round, my Technorati problem was solved after more than three months as soon as I published the Podcast with David Sifry.

I thought that finally everything is well and good but I was wrong. A few days after that, another of my blog had the same problem. Maybe the problem has been there but I did not notice it, I don’t know. Anyway, again, I wrote in to have my blog respidered by Technorati. I didn’t want to bug the customer service staff so soon after they resolved one issue, really, but that is the only way I could let my problem be known.

So I wrote to them about the new problem and was prepared to wait for another three plus months. Much to my surprise though, I received news that my blogs are now in order. Yay! This time it took about three weeks maximum to get it done. Their customer service has improved so much compared to the three month plus wait the first time round!

The All Important Google Page Rank

As you know, I have been trying very hard to increase the Page Rank of my blogs when the next Google Page Rank update happens. To gain that increment, I need more free backlinks and I am trying my best from now till then to network and let people know about my blogs and hopefully they will hook me up. There’s no denying that I am aiming for a Page Rank of Five this time. I achieved the Three that I wanted the previous round and hope that a Five is what I will hit this time.

Understanding that not all incoming links will be taken into consideration, I am thinking of getting twice as many backlinks as needed so that even if 50% of these links are cancelled out, I still have a considerable back links coming in.

Apart from networking, I am also doing research on how Page Ranks are determined and how I can increase my Page Rank, hence improving my search engine rankings. I came across a 2.5 hours worth of workshop in audio file where we could download for free at www.backlinksworkshop.com

This is indeed a very informative and useful workshop explaining the whole works of the all-important Google Page Rank. Well, it IS very important to me, what about you?

Google’s Picasa It Is!

Between my post Which Photo Storage/Sharing Service? and this morning, I have managed to migrate more that 700 images from my Yahoo! Photos to Picasa. Yup, I finally decided on Picasa. Don’t know why I decided on Picasa but it is pretty easy to use. The loading is faster than Yahoo too, in general, considering that each album can hold a maximum of 500 images compared to Yahoo’s 300 which spans a few pages.

Whilst I may have moved more than 700 images in one night, yes I work fast :-) there are still some images left that I don’t want to keep any longer. God knows why I kept them in the first place! So I’m just leaving them in my account until the service is terminated. Strange that I still did not receive any official email notification from Yahoo! about this.

Did you know that Google offers 1GB worth of space for each Picasa account? That’s a lot of images to store! The only gripe I have about Picasa is that I can’t sort my albums by NAME and there is no upfront usage meter. I saw it somewhere but it should be on the home page.

Anyway, I’m so glad that one task is completed. So now I can concentrate on blogging and link building again! Wwwwwhhheeeee!
