Bloomberg Also Uses AdSense

Yesterday, while reading Bloomberg.com, I was their AdSense ads. I have been reading Bloomberg.com for a long time but I just noticed the Ads. Perhaps these ads are placed at the bottom of the page, which I never scroll that low, only till the end of the article. Perhaps I am ad blind already and do not see the ads at all. Perhaps these ads blend in so well that I thought that they are a part of the layout. But yes, I am surprised that they NEED to use AdSense to subsidise their cost of running an online media site.

All along, I have noticed local English media sites using Google AdSense too and I wonder if web savvy people ever click on them. I think only people who have not heard of AdSense will click on them though, because as an internet user for so many years now, I can calculate the number of times I intentionally clicked on an AdSense ad.

I think that media sites and forums are only getting their AdSense revenue from page impressions. I may be wrong though. I hope that I can be privy to such data 😀

Shopping With Coupons From Coupon Kathy

I enjoy shopping online and always try to look for suitable coupons and discount codes so that I can save some money. The joy in finding just that coupon is half the fun in online shopping. I spend a considerable amount of time checking out coupon directories and sites and I know I should not or I would continue to spend but then this is the privilege of being a woman, right?

This morning, I was introduced to a coupon site called Coupon Kathy. Now, I have been to many sites like these before with different levels of user friendliness. Coupon Kathy stands out for its simplicity and easy step-by-step guide on applying the coupon codes found on the site. Simply put, Coupon Kathy is easy on the eyes without distracting us away from the task at hand, i.e. to look for the perfect coupon.

I found a Sharper Image Coupon which enables me to save $100 off $500 which is perfect for the gift of the Magellan Maestro 4050 Portable GPS which is selling at $699.95 at The Sharper Image and which I have been in two minds if I should buy it for my friend whose birthday is coming up soon and I know that he would be very happy with this gift since he is a GPS freak.

Using this coupon which I found at Coupon Kathy which helps me to save $100, I think it is now within my budget! See, if you would only spend a little time browsing through sites like Coupon Kathy, you will be able to save money even as you shop! You don’t even have to compromise on your shopping habit.

Creating Websites Easily

I mentioned that I bought a domain name not too long ago and it is another round of headache for me trying to look for a suitable design and theme for my website. I was told to check out Web.com which has a Do-It-Yourself Site Builder. Web.com is a company that provides web hosting and designing, eCommerce and web marketing among a host of other services.

Web.com has a number of web packages with different features to meet our budget and needs whether we require it for personal or commercial use. For example, since I am only setting up a personal website, Web.com has just the right package for me at $11.95 per month and this comes with a free domain name fro one year. I find that this is real value for money because while other sites may offer almost similar rates, they do not provide free Google AdWords credit or free Yahoo! Search Marketing credit.

What I like though, is that we can build our own website easily guided by the available tools provided by Web.com. If clients of Web.com have already created over four million websites using the Site Builder, I don’t see why I won’t be able to do it too!

High Quality Cellular Shades

I was supposed to help my sister look for blinds for her windows as she started a home remodelling project. I thought I would just surf around the web when I remembered reading somewhere about the beautiful Cellular Shades that are sold by the company that supplies blinds to Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

So I went to Select Blinds and they are having a sale right now with prices slashed drastically. It is crazy sale time at Select Blinds! I browsed though the site and there is a wide selection of blinds available and each comes with a variety of colors to match the color scheme of your room!

I love it that these blinds not only are practical in providing the highest level of insulation and protects the room against UV rays from the sun but these blinds are also classy looking and of high quality. It looks like we do not have to compromise beauty for practicality.

I am not sure when this crazy sale will last but I am going to inform my sister about it to pick out her favorite cellular shades. I can’t decide for her since we different lucky colors!

172 Pages Long!!

I am the owner of a Nokia E Series device and recently, discovered a mobile device forum with a thread on my Nokia E61i with a total of 172 pages! My goodness! It is my goal to read the whole thread because I have found some interesting information from the first couple of pages that helped me tweak my device and personalize it.

The thing is, I do not really have the time to read the whole thread in one sitting although I wish I could. All I could do is to sneak in a post or two while waiting for internet pages to load elsewhere and could only sneak in a page or two in one sitting.

And although the entire thread is 172 pages long right now, I dare not imagine how long it will grow to by then time I reach page 172! *shudders*

With my kind of crazy schedule, I wonder how long it would take me to finish reading the whole tread and play catch up. And I haven’t even contributed any posts on that thread yet!

What To Do With Your Factory Shipped iPod Earphones?

I have heard from friends who own iPods that the factory ear-phone is not able to bring the best out of the iPod when playing music. I could not compare because I only have that one pair of earphones that were shipped with the iPod. A friend did invite me to his house to try out his advanced earphone which he said makes music from his iPod sound so much better. My iPod is not cheap and I am rather reluctant to spend another amount on earphones or headphones.

However, my friend told me of an iPod Earphone/Headphone Trade In Program that is being held by an online electronic store called Your Electronic Warehouse and apparently, they will give us a $20 voucher which we could use on a future purchase at the store if we participate in this trade-in program.

We could also use this voucher at Discount Golf World if we wish. Hhmm I think I am going to participate in this trade in program and use my $20 voucher to buy a golf gift for my dad.
