OK, I know this post is horribly late but eh, I was busy with some other posts that required more urgent attention!

Anyway, did you notice the little image of Luciano Pavarotti on Google on 12th October? In Malaysia, when I noticed it, it was already 13th October. It’s interesting to note that Pavarotti’s likeness was an L on Google. haha! I thought he would make an O better!

I hovered my cursor over the picture and it just wrote “Luciano Pavarotti” and I think they should have written something like “Luciano Pavarotti (October 12, 1935 – September 6, 2007)” so that people would know instantly why Google paid tribute to him.

As a great fan of Luciano Pavarotti myself, I am very glad to have caught this image and took a screen capture of it. Heh.. I told you I use Google daily!

This morning, I was talking with a friend of mine who told me that he found a voice over talent for his project. I asked for his name and website. OK, I never heard of him! Haha! But he is not a specialist in voice over, because he is like a comedian, entertainer, singer and actor who happens to do some voice over work!

I told him about Don Capone, a voice over talent from the United States, who specializes in voice over and has a vast experience in voice over judging from the companies he worked with and the quality work he managed to produce as evident from the sample audio clips made available on his website, DonCapone.com.

The good news is that even with a vast experience, his rates are still very reasonable, I have been told! But I think this is great also because the more affordable he is, the more people will get to hear him!

I am not sure if YOU have already heard his work. I wrote a post on him last month and if you did not go and check him out then that’s bad of you! On Don Capone’s website, you can listen to the kind of voice over work that he has done and I am sure you will be blown away by the talented Don Capone.

Although I am a girl, I have been to quite a handful of online gambling sites. Most of them only cater to the English speaking community and one other foreign language like German.

Do you remember that I wrote about BackgammonMasters which aims to go international? They started with some foreign language casino games BUT I just got to know that they have released a new multi-language supported game lobby that users can switch seamlessly to twelve different major languages including Chinese? Do you know what I hate about the internet sometimes? DEAD LINKS! I went to the website of my mobile device because I wanted to see if they have a new software (firmware) version out yet and guess what? Almost every link that I clicked on returned a page like this!

Sometimes it gave me a different picture which was supposed to be amusing but I am not laughing because I am not getting the information that I want! It is frustrating, isn’t it?

Also, I found a glitch with my device and I hope that they will quickly release a new firmware before my warranty is over.

When is my iPhone coming???

Some of you may know that I manage an online business and I have a database of customers that I have to send occasional email updates to. After two years, my list has gotten longer and harder to manage.

I recently asked a friend of mine how he manages his mailing lists, which has almost ten thousand names on it but he told me that he is not using any software or program except the “Group Contacts” feature that comes with his email client. I was surprised. Surely there has got to be an economical yet professional way to handle that lengthy list?

A search on the internet brought me to iContact Email Newsletter Tool. I find that it is a very cost effective solution for people who have to mange long mailing lists and it starts at only $9.95 per month for the basic package. Of course, right now, I can still manage my list manually and does not yet warrant a web-based solution like this but if my list grows as large as my friend’s, I would surely need help!

One of my concerns about sending bulk email, even though they were opt-ins, is the deliverability of it. Running an email marketing campaign would be useless if the emails keep falling into the junk folders of my recipients. I know I would not check my spam mail and I do not expect them to. Therefore, I need a program that ensures that each and every mail that I send out reaches my target.

I am going to let my friend know about this because with ten thousand names on his list, he surely needs a good bulk email marketing solution.
