WTF’s Wrong With Streamyx Again??

Should I blame Streamyx and not the server of these PTB marketplaces? For heaven’s sake, they need to upgrade their servers already. You know, I have been sitting here since 5.30am and I saw all the opportunities but I never got a chance at them at all. They were all gone before I could even LOAD my page. Eight hours have gone by and I am still sitting here in front of the computer with NOTHING to show. You say frustrating or not?

Actually, I already noticed the slow loading since last evening which means it has been going on for like, what, more than 12 hours. F@rk it lah. Really, there are just so, so many challenges that I wonder if it’s still worth it and if I should just give up. All these are just blasting years off my life. GGGrrrrrrr

Google AdSense New Terms of Use

If you noticed, I have removed my AdSense from my blogs ages ago. That’s because a friend pointed out that I have conflict of interest from advertisements that I run on my blog from the various advertising networks. I read the ToS and true enough, I decided that to remove them all would be the best option for me to avoid being banned from the programme.

A couple of days ago, Google AdSense issued a new Agreement and we are required to agree to it to be able to continue using the programme. So far, I have been too busy to read the LOOOOONG Agreement but I know that there is a deadline to do so or the account will be frozen or something.

If you are a blogger, you may want to be careful with the Agreement and see if you have a conflict with the Terms of Use. I shall not elaborate except that you should know what you are getting into and you will be fine.

The Progress of IT in China

If you are familiar with China and her history, you will know that China was a sleeping giant for a long time. it is a country that has plenty of resources that have been unexploited so far. Lately, though, the country and her people have progressed so much that this s a country to be reckon with.

I believe that in time to come, China will overcome many countries in terms of internet technology and other advances. Just check out the China Webmasters Forums and you can see how well they are progressing in IT.

Internet marketing, web designing and hosting are no longer strangers to the Chinese people. As someone of Chinese descent myself, I am proud to see how well they have adapted to modern technology and catching up with the rest of the world.

If you would like to get to know Chinese people in the IT field, internet marketing or the likes, this is a forum to participate in!

US$100 X 2 Advertiser Spend

I just realised not too long ago that I have received US$100 in advertiser spend in my advertiser account. Well, it would be greater if I could turn these into cash but I don’t think it is possible to sell them.

I have so many blogs that I don’t even know which to start advertising BUT honestly, do you think I want to have my fresh, new blogs linked from blogs that have been sand boxed? I think the only way to go about it would be to use Direct but I don’t even have the time for that.

If I had gotten this free advertiser fund a year ago, I would have been damn happy but now, being on the other side of the burnt, I know how it feels like for the blogger and I am not ready to mar my new blogs like that.

I did receive US$100 free in another account almost six months ago but it has been sitting pretty in my account and I don’t even have plans to do anything with the money. Oh yea, now I remember that I was supposed to verify my credit card but I did not. LOL Queen of Procrastinator here!

Google Acquires GrandCentral

Not only have they acquired it, they are also offering this service to bloggers for free. Is this good news or what? Right now, GrandCentral is still in Beta and I think Google will be putting men to tweak the application. Well, they have the resources, don’t they?

The good news is that if you are a blogger, you can sign up and start using GrandCentral immediately. You don’t even have to wait for them to be out of Beta.

If you do not know how it works, this actually is a voice mail application where you can place a web call button on your blog and your readers can call you without having to know your phone number. If you are offline, though, they can leave you voice messages.

Isn’t that awesome? I wonder if anyone would even bother to call me if I were to implement this on my blog. One thing I would definitely like to know is if this is a totally free service even for international users and if we can manage multiple webcall buttons from one GrandCentral account. We bloggers have so many [too many!] blogs, you know? LOL

Get A Dose Of The Newest House Music Mixes

I was first introduced to house music back in early 1990s by a Dutch friend. This friend was a dancer in a House club and she would have access to all the House tracks which she will make copies of for me. That was how I got to know about House music and grown to appreciate it.

However, living in backwater Ipoh, you would be hard pressed to look for a House club. I was told that there is a handful in the capital city but I haven’t the chance to go there for years.

Last evening, I discovered a web portal where we could enjoy new house music mixes. Can you imagine, you can listen to house music and watch videos online for free without even having to go to a House club, which like I mentioned, is non-existent in Ipoh! So getting my does of House music online is the next best thing!

If you also have a passion for House music or if you would like to know what House music is, go to http://www.housemusictv.com and be blown away by the energy of House.

Now that I know of House Music TV, I would be able to keep up with the latest House music mixes. No longer do I have to make do with lat year’s hits! That’s awfully embarrassing!

Dwindling Traffic From EC

If you have been reading my blog from the beginning, you would know that I am an early adopter of EC. What’s EC? I am not going to write their full name but you can see that I still have their widget on my sidebar, where you, if you are also a member of this community, can drop you card. And thank you for doing so.

When I was an early member, traffic from EC was tremendous. Granted, I was pretty active as well, setting aside time every couple of days to drop cards on the blogs of other members. I also advertised on other blogs. Well, actually, I bought two advertorial spots on one blog to advertise two of my blogs, if you understand what I mean.

Lately, though, I haven’t got the time to drop cards and it indirectly affected the number of cards being dropped on my blog, because I have not been doing the rounds myself. This means that advertising on my blog has gone dirt cheap. Oh, well.

From checking my traffic statistics, I noticed that I do not even get five unique visitors to each of my blogs directly from the EC site. I do however, get a handful of visits from other blogs that have hosted the EC wall. But like I said, any unique visitor would be appreciated, except for the SPY!
