Can We Trust Bloggers?

My friend, a prominent local blogger, told me that we can’t trust blogers. I take it that he does not trust me LOL The thing is, he said, whatever you tell a blogger, you will end up reading it on his/her blog. haha We bloggers are always on the look out for blog fodder!

True enough, a lady had marital problems and she had a heard to heart chat with a blogger. Before long, she found her life story on a few blogs! These blogers, did not refer to her by name but they did write about the situation that the lady was going through. I think that is a very awful thing to do. If it’s something good we would write a blog post to share the news but if it is something private, it is better to just keep the story private.

The blogosphere is not big. Sooner or later, the story will go out and people will realize who the post was in honour to!

So do you think that bloggers can be trusted to keep secrets private and not write it on their blogs? I think not, even if I am a blogger myself. I know well enough, sometimes I will think, this would make a good post on my blog!

How Many Posts Did I Write Today?

Or should I say YESTERDAY since it is already 1am right now! I really lost count of the number of posts I have written yesterday but I know I wrote at least fifty posts. I know that my fingers are all stiff now already and I can hardly think of anything else except blogging until all my posts are completed

I have no time to reply to emails, no time to blog on my passion blogs and no time to chat with my friends on MSN. Yes, I have gone missing again, buried by work. And no, I can no longer spell right. Thank God for MS Word for helping me catch all my misspellings!

My friends who are on the same boar as I am are all zombified too. LOL But I think I am one of the hardest workers because I woke up at 6 freaking am this morning to get my work started! If not, I will feel way more stressed out that I am right now!

When I see my other blogger friends writing way more than me, I wonder how they do it. How can anyone humanly keep dozens of blogs? I keep “only” fourteen and I can see that I hardly have time to network. Naturally, some have more traffic than others but then I don’t care for traffic for my passion blogs..

Anyway, I hope to be able to get back to them real soon. Like maybe in two days’ time? LOL

Posting Frequency As A Celebrity Gossip Blogger

There was a debate sometime back on the posting frequency of a blogger. I always believe that as a blogger, I post when and how many times I want. BUT some readers get annoyed when they see so many posts in their feed reader or whatever. Well, just unsubscribe, if that’s too much to swallow.

Anyway, I came across an article on being a successful celebrity blogger. According to the writer of the article, whom herself is a celebrity blogger, some people post as many as thirty times per day! As a celebrity blogger wannabe, running two new celebrity blogs, I really take my hat off to people who could post thirty times on the same blog per day.

I could probably do that as well if I have only one or two blogs to maintain but I have more than a dozen, man, each with different content and all I could do is post on every other day, the most.

Like these past couple of days, I have absolutely neglected my passion blogs while posting like mad on my cari makan blogs. Cari makan more important, you know?

Five Blogger Templates

Tell me I am crazy, please slap me sane! After getting the WordPress templates of all my blogs done, my next mission is to look for FIVE blogger templates for my five Blogger blogs.

OK, am I not busy enough that I want to mess with the templates of blogs that are perfectly fine? Am I so free to continue searching and searching the internet for the elusive perfect Blogger template and then mess with the codes to fit my requirements? I am thoroughly unfamiliar with the “new Blogger” so that would be another series of frustration for me.

But I feel that after such a long while using those templates, they may be perfect now but I need a new, refreshing air to my blogs. Besides, I prefer to have two sidebar columns as opposed to the one column layout right now. Last time two-column sidebars are not popular.

Keeping Track of My Blogs

My friend asked me how I keep track of my blogs since I have more than a dozen now with different niches. At first, I did nothing to keep track of them and just post in the appropriate blog when an idea pops up.

A couple of days ago, I decided that I wanted a more systematic way to track my blogs and update them as regularly as possible without too large a gap between posts. I don’t want to open all my blogs on my browser anymore to check the dates.

What I did was buy an exercise book, write down all my blogs in a list and then write down the date next to my blog each day I update it.

Now, I find that I don’t waste time trying to remember when was the last time I wrote on a particular blog, I just check it from my exercise book and plan my day’s blogging accordingly from there.

What do you think?

Blogs Loading Slowly

Even though I have stripped off AdSense from my blogs, I am heavily dependant on a local blog advert to sustain them financially. However, it does not help that the loading times of these blocks of advertisements load extremely slow, dragging the load times of my blogs. I know the culprit and it sometimes are not even able to display any ads but show a blank box or a little square with a red X replacing the image.

I have already mentioned this to the head honcho, only because when this happens, my traffic is not recorded, hence I am not being compensated for the actual amount of impressions my blogs managed to generate and that means loss of income to me.

So what do I do? Do I just remove them for the sake of my blogs and a better reader experience or do I bear with it and hope that things will improve? I am still waiting for see what exclusive programme they come with so that I could decide which company to stick to exclusively. Since the launch of the exclusive club of the OTHER company, I am not getting my rightful share of the pie and it pisses me off because I worked so hard on building my blogs, been with them since the beginning and now I am being shortchanged just because I do not show total loyalty?

No Archive For Three Months

I received an assignment that comes with a requirement of no archiving of that particular post for three months. I said “No, thank you”. For one, I hate shifting the time of my posts to keep them on the front page. It is unfair to the others who have paid for their spot on the front.

It is also not fair to me as a blogger to give the advertiser a feature post for three months for $10. A feature post would cost a whole lot more than that, don’t you think so?

Also, it is against the TOS of some companies to shift the timestamp of our blog posts. Will $10 be worth it if we are caught and banned from one marketplace? I don’t think so. With the dry season upon us, we really cannot afford to be banned ANYWHERE!
