I visited my friend at his million dollar home over the weekend. It is still not fully furnished yet so my friend will only be throwing a housewarming party when everything is ready. My mother told me to post photos of the house on my blog but I can’t compromise the security of my friend, right?

What I like about the house is that my friend has spared no expense when it comes to keeping it safe and secure. He has installed a CCTV system covering the interior and exterior of the house. Barack Obama Sworn In As 44th President of the United States of America

President Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States after the swearing in ceremony less than an hour ago, making him the first ‘black’ President of the United States.

This is some sort of History but don’t forget that Barack Obama is from an inter racial marriage and his mother is actually white. Frankly, if not for this fact, I wonder if he would have garnered the support of whites in America.

Whatever the case, Americans are all very excited to have a new President even though he just spent more than US$100 million of tax payers’ money on his inauguration ceremony.

I watched the whole ceremony online like I said I would, while my dad watched it on TV. I wonder how long these videos will be online since, I’m sure, there would be people who would like to watch them again.

Watch Barack Obama Inauguration Live Online

Last Summer, Microsoft launched its high tech flash player, Silverlight, in time for Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games. We were even allowed to watch some of the Game broadcasts for free after downloading and installing Silverlight.

Today, Microsoft scored another coup, with its live streaming and on demand videos of Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony. Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. I understand that the total cost of this ceremony would be in the tune of US$100 million so do expect this to be totally GRAND.

Although there will be 250,000 free tickets given away to the inauguration, there will still be many people who would want to watch history be created but unable to attend the ceremony. These people will be watching it online, via Silverlight.

Interesting Look At Kuala Terengganu By-Election On Google

NST ran a very interesting observation on the Kuala Terengganu by-election in today’s papers. Kuala Terengganu by-election, or more popularly known as KT by-election, is a three-corner Parliamentary seat by-election. It is hotly contested because it will show us the stand of voters for or against the ruling coalition party, Barisan Nasional.

According to this article on The New Straits Times the candidate with the highest “hits” is Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh, a candidate representing Barisan Nasional.

It seems more people are searching for this candidate, probably they want to know where to get “free money”. LOL

NST also did a search on YouTube. The first and second candidates, Datuk Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh and Pas candidate Mohd Abdul Wahid Endut both tied at thirteen videos each. Independent candidate, Azharuddin Mamat @ Adam, does not have any videos. I am surprised. Even Tok Mun has videos.

If you are a blogger, I am sure you would know that blog posts with photos attract more readers. Believe me, I tried to look for appropriate pictures to include in my blog but have failed so far. The problem is that I keep worrying about using images without violation of copyright.

Acobox.com offers free blog pictures. I know of them for quite a while already but never tried them before. Let me just try it then!

China Leads In Internet Usage

As China continues its effort in curbing porn on the web by seeking the co-operation of major search engines, Chinese people now make up the largest number of people accessing the web.

It comes as no surprise as the growth rate has been tremendous over the past few years but when is surprising is that people in the countryside is adopting the internet at a faster rate than those in urban areas.

Also, students make up the largest group of Chinese web surfers, and a large section of them are accessing the internet via mobile phones over 3G internet connection. Heh… that’s why China made mobile devices, which are usually dual-sim and come with TV viewing capability, are so popular.

We will continue to see a growth particularly in the number of Chinese people access the web via mobile devices when all mobile operators offer 3G services by 2011. Even now, the total number of Chinese connected to the internet is already almost the same number as the total population of the United States. Massive, isn’t it?
