Gmail Labs Undo Send

Over the past week, there are a few new tools added to Gmail Labs. I really like the one that allows us to “Undo Send”. I have always wondered why that was missing when we have undo delete and undo discard and other similar features that allow us to undo our action.

Although Undo Send would only work for the first five seconds after the email has been sent and if the browser is still opened, it is still an awesome feature to have. How many times have you sent out an email only to have an after thought to add something, edit something or remove a word or two from the email?

I have already enabled this feature but do not have the chance to use it yet. I hope that I don’t ever have to use it, after all, it only works for the five seconds upon hitting the Send button but I like it that I have a safety net, just in case, you know?

AAfter Search

If you have been using the web for a while, I am sure you would already have your favorite search engine. Mine is Google because it loads fast and provides fairly comprehensive results. However, after that awful episode with Google 1.5 years ago, I have been searching for another favorite search engine.

However, as I become more web savvy, my requirements of a good search engine have changed. I now not only want a search engine that loads quickly with the most accurate results, I also want one that provides me with the highest cash back rewards. After all, I shop online so often, why not take advantage of some savings?

My search led me to AAfter Search a couple of weeks ago. I have to admit that I did not pay much attention to it and underestimated its usefulness judging from the design of the page. I had the opportunity to read up on what AAfter Search could do today and am amazed by its powerful tools.

Not only is AAfter Search a regular search engine, it is also a domain and IP checker, a reverse phone search engine, Yellow Pages, name and background searcher, spell checker and a host of other utilities. Moreover, we could also update our Twitter status from here. Oh, did I forget to mention that it has a very good cash back incentive program too?

Bring Back The Previous Facebook Layout!

Facebook has once again changed to a new layout. Maybe people say this is a copy of Twitter but I do not see the similarities. Seriously! However, while there are people who like this new layout, there are also people who dislike it. I am unfortunately I am in the group of people who prefer the previous layout.

You see, I am not someone who does not accept change. Previously, when Facebook changed their layout to the just changed layout, I was actually very receptive of it and preferred it over the original layout. This one, though, isn’t user-friendly at all. I keep missing my notices and pokes. I miss the live feed where I could check what’s happening with everyone on my contact list under one page.

I don’t know why Facebook needs to make this change when there was nothing wrong with the previous one. Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke, don’t they know it? Moreover, why must they copy Twitter, if at all the new Facebook layout looks like Twitter, though once again, I stress, I do not see the similarities, and yes, I do Twitter as well so I KNOW.

Buying Fresh Wedding Flowers Online

Although I shop online regularly, I have to admit that I never thought that buying something like fresh flowers would be a good thing. I know there are many online florists, but I thought that the flowers would not be as fresh as those purchased from our neighborhood florist.

Well, I couldn’t be more wrong when a friend bought her wedding flowers from an online florist and they look as fresh as those that we buy from our local florist. The up side is of course the wider choice in species and we can have flowers in some rare colors that aren’t available locally!

Since Fifty Flowers is offering free shipping on all wedding flowers, I think that it is a good choice shopping with them. Not only do they cater to bridal couples, they also have just the right flowers other major occasions.

YouTube View Spammers

Those of us who use YouTube with the aim of monetizing our videos in the future are working hard towards building video views, subscribers and friends. However, like all systems, there will always be people trying to game it.

I read on Web Pro News today that there are YouTube users who try to fake their view counts. I am sure we all know that the view count could be very funny at times, even if the numbers are real. Like the case of funtwo, his video receives the highest views of all time on YouTube but the video isn’t even published in his own account. The one in this account only received 40k views instead. Don’t you think that YouTube should delete the video from the other person’s account and give the millions of views to funtwo’s account?

Anyway, YouTube is starting to clean up all these view spam so that videos will show the true view count. Hhmm I hope there will be no changes in the view count of my videos because I gained the legitimately!

Win A Wii & Wii Fit

When I heard about the opportunity to win a Wii and Wii Fit from Leapfish, I thought that it would be a contest that comes with too many requirements since Wii is like the most popular game console right now, almost all my friends have it. I promptly forgot about it but was luckily reminded to check out the contest today, and I am glad to say that luckily I did as it is one of the easiest contests to participate in.

If you are game to Win a WiiFit From LeapFish along with a new Wii, all you need to do is to set LeapFish as your homepage. This gives you one raffle ticket.

Do the same with other computers you own or use, and receive a raffle ticket each. Invite everyone you know to join in the contest and you will receive an additional raffle ticket per referral. Obviously, in a contest like this, the more people you refer, the more raffle tickets you will have, hence the higher your chances of winning.

A winner will be chosen randomly on 23rd March, 2009 so act quickly and rope in everyone you know to join under you to increase your chances. I know that is what I will be doing!

Charged In Court For Insulting Sultan

I guess this news must have come as quite shocking for every web user, even for those of us born and bred in Sultanate states. Yes, we know that Sultans should be revered but recent political events in the state of Perak in Malaysia have caused an uproar on the web as people used their emotions to “speak”.

Websites and blogs are public domain which anyone with internet access could read. These people who hurled abuses at the Sultan on his own website, and yes I did read that guest book that morning and have to agree that most comments were unnecessary, should know better.

Now, I am not saying that these people were the ones who wrote those harsh comments but if I remember correctly, there weren’t just five or six people. If anything, these people, chosen out of a larger pool of people who insulted the Sultan are just like the sacrificial lamb!
