YouTube View Spammers

March 17, 2009 – 11:27 pm

Those of us who use YouTube with the aim of monetizing our videos in the future are working hard towards building video views, subscribers and friends. However, like all systems, there will always be people trying to game it.

I read on Web Pro News today that there are YouTube users who try to fake their view counts. I am sure we all know that the view count could be very funny at times, even if the numbers are real. Like the case of funtwo, his video receives the highest views of all time on YouTube but the video isn’t even published in his own account. The one in this account only received 40k views instead. Don’t you think that YouTube should delete the video from the other person’s account and give the millions of views to funtwo’s account?

Anyway, YouTube is starting to clean up all these view spam so that videos will show the true view count. Hhmm I hope there will be no changes in the view count of my videos because I gained the legitimately!
