iPad 2 in Malaysia

I went to Kuala Lumpur last week and chanced upon a few stores selling Apple iPad 2. Unfortunately, all of them are out of stock and if I want one, I would have to place my name on the waiting list and I would be at number 300 at one of the stores. Then I would have to sit back and try to relax while waiting for the new batch of iPad 2 to arrive, which could take at least two to three weeks.

In the end, I decided not to place my name on the waiting list. I haven’t really decided on the iPad 2 though the white iPad 2 looks really stylish. I am more inclined towards a laptop-cum-tablet, which means something like the Asus Transformer or Acer Iconia Tab W500. These “tablets” can be a tad heavy, though.

There are so many choices it really is not easy to decide. perhaps I should just close my eyes and charge my credit card.

PSN Restored In Many Parts Of The World

Sony may have restored its PlayStation Network services in most parts of the world. Unfortunately, the network is still down for us in Malaysia. This is because Japan does not allow Sony to restart its PS3 and PSP online servers in the country until they are shown further evidence that the two-time hacker-breached PlayStation Network is safe again.

Because of this, countries near Japan like South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia still cannot access the PlayStation Network because the servers that serve these countries are based in Japan. So it looks like we are offline by association.

I wonder when PSN will be back online for us. At first Sony said that we’ll be online by 31st May, so there are still two more weeks to go. I’m sure many of us already have something else to occupy our time.

Columbia Beauty School

My friend told me that if I want to learn, to learn from the best. She told me that if I am serious about taking up a beauty course, I should seriously consider going to Columbia beauty school managed by Regency Beauty Institute since it is the fastest growing beauty school in America and that surely tells a lot.

I agree with her but I just can’t find time to schedule both work and studies. Moreover, I don’t think I am creative enough to carve a career in the beauty industry since it requires creativity and skills.

In any case, I am sharing this information with a friend whom I feel is more suited to study a beauty course and make it in the world of beauty!

PSN Broken Possibly Until 31st May

It’s sad what has happened to PlayStation Network. Nope, I don’t own a PlayStation but my friends who do, are complaining that they cannot do anything with the device anymore!

It’s weird that previously, many of these friends, all adults, were addicted to PlayStation. I figure by now, many would have weaned themselves of PlayStation already. If they found that they were not able to kick their PlayStation addiction previously, they are all forced to go cold turkey now. By the time PlayStation Network goes back to business, these people would have found something else to occupy their time and hands already.

And as I said, it’s amazing that this could happen to SONY, a reputable brand name for decades, well-known and trusted around the world. This damage has caused them billions of dollars. I wonder how long it would take the company to salvage their reputation, and how much.

Change Your LastPass Online Password Manager Password

When I first started to get online and began registering with numerous websites, I was overwhelmed with my login IDs and passwords and thought that online password managers were the best thing created after slice bread. After a while, I realised that I cannot put my faith in online password managers because once that server gets hacked, ALL my accounts will be gone.

This morning, while checking technology news, I read that LastPass, a rather popular online password manager, has issued an alert to users, and advised all to change their master password. LastPass noticed “a network traffic anomaly” and thinks that it is a hacking attempt.

Right now, we have no idea if LastPass really has been hacked so it’s best to quickly change your master password to LastPass first and if you can, change the password of your important websites. In any case, you really should allow an online password manager to manage your password, particularly to financial websites.

Transitioning a Business

My friend asked me if I would like to join him in his business. He is employed full time and hence, feels that he does not have enough time to devout on his own business venture. Since I work for myself, he feels that I am the best person in this partnership.

I am not sure if I am able to commit the time he requires of his partner since I have my hands full as well but I did ask him to try this Change management software to see how he could take his business a step further, without having to take on a partner, for the time being.

While my friend is very resourceful, running this change management software will help him look at his business set up from a different perspective and with solutions offered, he could adopt early intervention measures to keep his business in check, or better yet, propelling it a notch higher.

Gmail Importance Marker

I logged in to my Gmail account the other day and came across this new feature which allows us to add importance to a particular email or sender. And at the same time, we also can decrease importance of a certain email or sender.

I manage three Gmail accounts actually but after coming across this feature in one of the accounts, I have yet to see the same feature available in the other two Gmail accounts.

I kind of like it, so I hope that this feature will be rolled out to all Gmail accounts so that I can use it. I’m sure every one of us is overwhelmed with emails daily and it would be great to put more importance to some senders!
