BackgammonMasters Expands To Central America

I have good news for all backgammon players in Latin America. BackgammonMasters.com, the leading online casino game company is expanding its market to Latin America.

Did you know that BackgammonMasters.com is the first and only company that came out with the online version of the ever popular Spanish dice game called Perudo? Due to is popularity and the phenomenon that is Jean Claude the animated tiger, which garnered viewers from across the world, backgammon players or not, including viewers from Latin America, BackgammonMasters.com sees it fit to open an office in Latin America to better cater to the people there.

BackgammonMasters is in a class of it own thanks to their innovative all-in-one software game concept where backgammon game players only need to download it once. From there, players can enter a game lobby and select to play backgammon or any other game.

The good thing about games from BackgammonMasters is that there are all developed in multi player mode as part of their community concept. Moreover, to serve the Latin markets better, BackgammonMasters will be releasing the more popular games specifically for Latin America.

The backgammon software is exceptionally realistic and user-friendly in a fully supported playing environment. When you have experienced it first hand, you will appreciate the effort that BackgammonMasters have put into developing the software and games.

Technorati – Is It A Coincidence?

If you have read my blogs diligently, you will know that I have issues with my Technorati ranking since ages ago until I decided that I should do something about them and so sent in a Support ticket to Technorati in early February this year.

So the tickets were not answered to and I did follow up with them, which I also did not get any reply nor were the issues resolved. Anyway, I posted in the forums and there were problems over there as well. I gave up because I do not want to be like a pest and anyway, wrong Technorati ranking is not a matter of life and death.

I don’t know if it is a coincidence or whatever. Six hours after I blogged on a Podcast Interview with David Sifry, CEO of Technorati, I received a reply from Technorati’s Customer Support Specialist informing me that they have sent spiders to my blogs and that they should be indexed by now.

Phew, I’m so relieved that the issues are resolved at last. I guess it is true that if you want something done, you have to get to the top hehehe!

Impressed With Asheville

My friend, Paul, came to me all excited about his visit to Asheville where the managed to pack in a whole weekend of visiting some of the best Asheville Real Estate. Paul was looking for high quality living closer to nature since he has gotten used to seeing wild animals roam his back yard in his home in New York.

Paul told me that Asheville is an ideal place for him as it is located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Moreover, downtown Asheville is really happening and culturally rich in the arts.

During his weekend stay in Asheville, Paul was most impressed with the city and the warm and friendly people, unlike those in New York where nobody has the time to even spare a greeting.

CopyCats Abound

The other day, I was angry to discover that someone copied my sponsored review and submitted it as her own. Well, I reported her and put it down to bad luck since this copycat Google searched blogs for the specific keyword and found my post.

Today, with some free time on my hands and the chance to finally blog hop, I came across bloggers saying that so-and-so has wholesale copied their posts including tags, memes and sponsored posts.

I have been blogging for a long time now but have not heard of this blogger before. Maybe because I am not the kind to 8 here, 8 there. Anyway, while I was mad that my post was copied, I believe the victims of the local blogosphere felt many more times worse than I did because they considered her one of their kind. Imagine getting back stabbed like that.

This is also one reason why I usually keep to myself. I have had many of my ideas copied before and these copycats with blogs more popular than mine had people commenting on their blogs as if the idea came straight from them. Bah!

Just because my blog is relatively unknown doesn’t mean that I can’t write good posts. And just because popular bloggers publish a certain post does not mean that it is 100% original and gospel.

Seduce A Celeb @ GoFish.com

I was actually searching for funny video clips to watch on the internet when I stumbled upon Free videos at GoFish.com. These videos, however, are like no other because they are all submissions to the Seduce A Celeb contest that is being run for 14 weeks on GoFish.com

The celebrity in question is none other than Mirelly Taylor, the star of movies such as Kiss Me Again and Serving Sara and TV shows “Las Vegas”, “Punk’d”, and “Numb3rs”. I am sure you are familiar with her!

Seduce A Celeb is one of its kind. While there are other similar win-a-date with a celebrity contests, this contest is open to everyone who resides in the United States who has an internet connection and could come up with a decently hilarious video. Seduce A Celeb has received tremendous support from GoFish members who have thus far, submitted MANY creative videos in a bid to win a date with the sexy Mirelly Taylor. The support is also thanks to the ease and hassle-free participation where all they need to do is answer Mirelly’s call to action with a video each and upload it to the website to be judged and voted on. This direct participation has created a friendly sense of competition among participants which is not surprising in view of the prize!

I would be interested to see Jennifer Lopez next on the celebrity line up. She is seriously hot, I tell you!

Blosxom :: the Zen of Blogging

I came across this open source software called Blosxom – pronounced Blossom that is supposed to make blogging easier. I don’t know how far true this is. If there is someone to set up for me, I am willing to try. If you ask me to install and configure it myself, then no thank you lah. I will get a monster headache and give up. I hate technical issues, you know? But please don’t tell me that I am a “typical girl” because I am not.

Anyway, I tried searching for blogs that are published through Blosxom but I cold not find any and have no idea where to start.

I think the Blosxom site should have a directory of blogs that are using the software so that we can see the features that it has and can do in a real blogging environment.

If you are interested to try this out, check Blosxom’s website.

Podcast with David Sifry of Technorati

I was searching for something on Technorati on the internet when I stumbled upon this podcast interview with David Sifry, the CEO of Tehcnorati, on www.SwissStartups.com. Swiss Startups is run by Dominik Tarolli and the company specializes in working specifically with internet startups, helping them with funding, helping investors find the gems among all the new startups and most of all, believing in new ventures and turning business models into successes.

In this podcast held in San Francisco, David Sifry introduced himself and talked about how he managed to venture into computing and business and eventually ended up as CEO of Technorati, one of the most popular websites and authority on website ranking, and to think that the company is only slightly over four years old and grown to such to phenomenal company in the fickle world of the internet, with employees across America and partnerships with Technorati Japan.

It is amazing to me that David’s first business venture was at 16 years old doing computer consultancy. So it is no wonder that David has continued to get himself involved in various ventures, some were successes while some were failures but all have been valuable learning experiences.

In this short podcast interview, David managed to share his insights on entrepreneurship, Technorati and also the blogosphere. If I have the chance, I would like to ask David why my Technorati rankings for my blogs are not updated and my support tickets are not answered since February, 2007!
