It’s kind of funny that when I thought that Streamyx was all fine after twenty hours of down time at the exchange in my area, I experienced a further three hours without internet connection last night. The second time was due to the port not connecting to my house. They made a report for me and told me that it will take one to two days for the technician to look into it and they will give me a call. If I do not hear from them after two days, I should call them up and provide them with my report number.

So I was like mentally prepared to wait out the down time but I was not desperate because I have a back up line. I could remember how I panicked each time my internet connection goes down, but no longer. Even though I do not like to use my 3G connection to connect to the internet via my mobile device, at least it does the job.

But wah… after about three hours, my connection was restored. I was so happy to be able to work normally but then I was sleepy already! hahaha!

Did you know, my Streamyx was down from slightly after 2pm yesterday till 11am this morning? Apparently, there was a problem with the exchange in my area and it affected Streamyx subscribers in my area. I called up TM’s customer care centre and the guy who fielded my call told me that I was not the only customer from Ipoh lodging a complaint.

Luckily, I have my Celcom 3G line to fall back on. This was the second time that I used my back up line for such long hours. The first time was a couple of months ago when there was an issue with my telephone line. I still don’t know what happened with that even though my bills are all up-to-date.

This time, once again, my Nokia E61i had to work full time. I connected it via Bluetooth and I think that the line is more stable using Bluetooth that using USB cable. At least it does not disconnect that often.

Unfortunately, getting online for such long hours (I was working on my website), was really battery draining. I had to keep it charging the whole time. Phew… luckily all is well again now.

This morning, I was chatting online with my sister via MSN and she tranfered some new photos that she took of her home. She also turned on the webcam so that I can have a look. You know, it has been more than a year since she had her house built but this was the first time she sent those photos. At least we now have an idea of her living environment.

My sister told me that when she built her house, she was slightly out of budget and had to share a house plan with a neighbor. So right now, in her street, there are two houses that are alike. My sister says that if she had enough money back then, she would have her own plans drawn up so that her house is unique.

I told her that there is a website where she can download such plan. No matter what kind of house she fancies, there are just the right kind of house plans from European to bungalow house plans at a fraction of the cost that is required to draw up a plan from scratch by an architect.

I tried searching the website for log home plans, currently my favorite kind of home, and navigation was a breeze.

If you do not like log homes, perhaps you would want to check out the selection of ranch house plans that are available for download. The search engine on the site is very good and you can make use of it to narrow down your choices based on specific size range or number of bedrooms, for example.

Phew… after one whole year of getting the domain name of my personal website, I finally got a proper website and I am glad that I did it by myself with the help of my host. All along, I only had it redirected to my GooglePages, which is like a website for Dummies. And yes, even though I know nothing about building sites, I managed to make one on GooglePages. Haha!

It was not that I do not want to read up how to do things like this but I was so bloody busy for the whole year. Not that I am complaining but all the work left me no time to do stuff like making sites.

Now that I have got one domain almost settled, since it is just a personal website and does not require constant updates, I will be able to concentrate on building my new blogs and another website later on, if things remain quiet.
