Why Always Poker?

Chinese New Year is just around the corner and my friends tell me that it’s time for cards, cards and more card playing! They asked me why I always write about Poker when there are so many other types of casino games that are similarly interesting. Well, it’s because I never had luck with other games, or perhaps I don’t understand their game play that’s why I am always losing!

My friend told me that blackjack is his favorite game. I though that he would ask me to look for good Blackjack online casinos for him but what do I know about Blackjack, right?

Coincidentally, I was told of a Blackjack online casino review website that shows us the top online casinos with Blackjack as their main game. These casinos that are featured has been tried, tested and approved by the reviewers of BobGambling.com and based on their experience, these top casinos offer the highest bonus, pay rate, great game interface and customer service.

Are you a Blackjack player? If you are thinking of playing it online, I don’t think you would want to miss reading the reviews!

Making Yahoo! Messenger Open In Your Favorite Browser

If you remember, my computer needed a format in November, 2007 and then another one just last week. In November, I was scratching my head on how to make Yahoo! Messenger in my preferred browser, Maxthon. It kept opening all links from my Y! M in FireFox instead.

Anyway, I gave up and decided to just let things be. Naturally, I did not check my Yahoo! email account as often as I would like to, since FireFox always opens a new link in the active tab, which I hate. If open in a new tab is all right lah.

So last week, I had the chance to try making my Yahoo! Messenger links open in Maxthon, and I was in a hurry to get my FireFox running first and only get to install Maxthon later.

I soon found out that if you want your Yahoo! Messenger links to open from a particular browser, install that browser last. No matter that Yahoo! Messenger supposedly uses Internet Explorer but in practical, it will open by default in the last browser that you have installed and there is no settings to change it.

Try this and let me know if it works for you!

Children Are Insurance

It’s one month into the year already but the Chinese will only be celebrating their New Year come 7th February, 2008 and we will all be a year older! Yes, isn’t it scary that we have to add two years to our age each year? A year in the Chinese New Year and another on our birthday.

As I grow older, I am quite scared because my parents would also be older! My parents may have personal pensions but with the rising living and medical costs, we have to be very careful with expenses.

Well, things would be a lot more different if they had insurance or annuities but they don’t and apparently, they are under the high risk group of people now due to their age and do not qualify for insurance.

But as they say, children ARE insurance. That’s why I am working so hard now.

Very Happy!!!!

Today, I am so happy. One of my blog posts received more than 800 unique visitors from search engines alone. It is too bad that I have removed all my AdSense codes from all my blogs. In their spots, I have placed Advertlets ad codes instead.

And do you know what? From all these visitors and only one click on the ad, I earned more than RM3.00. You know how I always complained that I am getting only RM0.001 – RM0.005 a day even with clicks, this time I got RM3 for one day. I can’t believe it.

Of course, I still think that it is very low and too bad that it’s now the month of February and they no longer pay us double to compensate us for the fiasco earlier in the year or I would have earned RM6 instead. Well, that’s more like it!

And I could have earned more if I had placed ad codes on my virgin blog, A blog that I have no intention to place any ads at all. Oh well, how long will this surge in traffic last? I hope at least a week so that I can bask in the glory for a little while longer!

The Lives of Gamers

Although I play online games, I am only a moderate player and do not understand how some of my friends could spend the entire weekend locked in their rooms hitting the keyboard. They would probably ask me how I could spend the entire day blogging, but blogging and gaming are different, OK?

A friend of mine, whom I shall not name, is so addicted to Counterstrike that as soon as he returns from work on Friday evenings, he would be at the computer gaming. He would not even go to bed and would eat at the computer too.

You can say that his weekends revolve around Counterstrike and his game servers. I was surprised that he took time off to get married. Haha!

Another friend of mine plays Day of Defeat. I really can’t tell if these games are that good because I cannot tolerate 3D games that well and would get dizzy. Do you know that this friend, who plays Day of Defeat every night, once became suicidal when his broadband internet was down for a week. Haha! Later, he met his girlfriend and was cured of his addiction to gaming.

I think for gaming or blogging, moderation should be the key!

FaceBook Members So Damn Free Meh?

If you remember, I registered with FaceBook reluctantly. I don’t like joining all these social networking portals because I don’t like to reject friend request. I know I should not mind but I don’t like to add strangers to my friendship list yet I feel bad rejecting them.

Anyway, so I joined and my God, I wonder why Facebook members are so free that they could spend hours just building their profile. Even though I have only eight friends on my list, I had to waste a lot of time just checking out the stuff that friends send to me and I would have to add applications to my profile and then respond. I am not sure if anyone noticed, Facebook server lags and there goes my time.

Even if you have received a flying kiss, a hug or a Thank You that makes you go all warm and fuzzy, remember that the sender would have sent the same thing to everyone on his friend’s list so that he could level up. It’s all so FAKE and I don’t understand why the whole thing is so popular.

I know opinion will rub off the wrong way on many FaceBook fans but like my friend says, “Better than Friendster, MySpace or Hi5, lah!”

Baby Store Recommendations

My friend, Yvonne, is a new mother to David. Yvonne is a very smart shopper who will stretch every dollar. It’s just as well seeing how the American economy has been performing lately.

I would not say that Yvonne buys only cheap items but rather, she would be something beautiful but always at a cheaper price. Maybe she has found a baby store that is running a sale, or she found promo codes for baby items on the internet. It is her habit to consult her friends and the internet before making a purchase.

Lila Guide is a great place for parents to seek information on which baby store to buy their items from. Of course, what separate a good store from a bad one would be quality of products, their prices and unsurpassed customer service. Such information is freely shared between members of the Lila Guide community who are all parents seeking the best for their children.
