Now You See, Now Your Don’t

That’s what’s happening to our page rank. My friend sent me a text message this afternoon when I was taking a nap informing me that she has a PR2 now for her blog. This blog used to be a PR4 but was slapped by Goo a few months ago. How long ago was it, I can’t exactly remember but while the rest of us were eating eggs, she still had a PR4 for awhile. It then dropped to a 3 and later, 0.

Well, now she’s happy :) but I’m not :( I still have six eggs to eat not counting those that were slapped by association. Yes, some people say it has no relation but I think it does. Sue me lah!

A PR2 may seem low to some people but it makes a huge difference when it comes to blogging for money. I know because once my last PR2 fell to a zero, all my opps suddenly dried up. Oh well…. let’s hope for the best.

Invest In Rare Coin Collections

Some people collect stamps, some people collect coins. Do you know which collection is a better investment? I think it is the coin collection.

However, if you have a rare coin collection, it will be more valuable. There are people who purposely collect these rare coins because they know that their value will appreciate in time.

If you would like to expand your collection of rare coins, one of the reputable coin trading companies that I know of, Monaco Rare Coin, has the experience and expertise to help you find them at a fair market value.

When you are looking to grow your portfolio of rare coins, you will want to go through a company with years of good reputation behind them, besides the knowledge and experience.

Google Overcomes Block Attempt To Overtake DoubleClick For US$3.1 billion

Woowzer… I’ve just got news today that Google has finally overcome the obstacle to overtake DoubleClick for US$3.1 billion. That’s a lot of money, dude!

I am eagerly waiting for this to happen to see what advertising opportunities will be open to us. We international publishers have been sidelined all along so hopefully with the mechanism of Google already in place, we will have more avenues to make money off our blogs.

This morning, I was pissed when I received an email from a marketplace letting me know that they have wrongly assigned me a task and they “do not expect me to keep my post up on my blog”.

Oh hey, where’s my US$20? I did the job and expect to be paid. Bloody pissed off. Really can’t put all our eggs in one basket, you know?

Breaking News: PAS’ Nizar Is New Perak MB

So the Regent of Perak has selected Pasir Panjang state assemblyperson and Perak PAS secretary Mohamad Nizar Jamaludin as the NEW PERAK MENTERI BESAR while DAP Perak Chief, Ngeh Koo Ham has been appointed as Deputy Menteri Besar I. The Deputy Menteri Besar II will be an Indian.

I think that the Regent has been very fair in his selection in the posts of MB and his Deputies. As a Perakian, I have been concerned that the longer this appointment is delayed, instability will set in since the margin of Seat distribution is so narrow. The longer this is delayed, the bigger the chance that some people will turn into frogs.

So with an Alternative Front heading the State of Perak, let’s hope that there will be a brighter future for the State and her people.

Who Is Planning To Visit New York?

My friend, Paul, told me that if I ever plan to take up his invitation to visit him in, there would be plenty of New York City Hotels that would suit my budget.

Out of curiosity just now, I visited the website of NewYorkHotels.com that I came to know of earlier this morning. This is a website where prospective visitors to New York would be able to find accommodation in and around New York City that caters to all kinds of visitors.

I was glad that NewYorkHotels.com offer rooms with deep discounts and they also have a lowest price guarantee which means that if we can find a similar room for the same holiday period at a lower price, they would match that price or cancel our reservation if they are unable to match it.

NewYorkHotels.com also provides information on places of interest in New York and this would be useful to people heading that way, especially first timers.

Waiting For Goodies

Now that some of the states have their opposition state government in place, people are already waiting for goodies handed out by them as promised by the opposition parties in their manifesto and during election campaigns.

One of the things we really wish for is a reduction of all our taxes, various tariffs and for people in Selangor, abolishment of toll. Is that too much to ask?

Each state that are now in the hands of the opposition are respectively rich in resources and I believe if they are well-managed, the people can be enriched and benefit from the revenue of the state.

Will the opposition, now the ruling state government, be able to deliver their promises to the Rakyat? To be fair, we have to allow them time to show that they mean business and they will see through their promises though it will not be easy. If you are a politician, always remember, the Rakyat are the bosses. Shape out or ship out.

Removing Google Adsense

A little while ago, I read that if you have Google AdSense on your blog and if your post suddenly has a spike in traffic, for instance, if your post has been stumbled or dugged, then you should remove your AdSense from that page for a little while until your traffic has stabilized.

This is because if your traffic is exceptionally high for a few hours, it will pull down your overall AdSense rate so you should remove them. Is that logical? For me, I would just leave them as they are even though they would drag down my rate because I am lazy. Luckily, though, you can just log in to your AdSense account and set your ad status as ‘inactive’.

Yes, I am lazy to do it even though it is so easy but then there is no AdSense on my active blogs and the only ad blogs on my blog compensate me based on page impressions as well.
