If you have logged into your account with a local blog ad company, you would probably have noticed the little yellow stars next to your blog.

While I noticed that there’s manual assignment of band to my blogs because I am not in their exclusive programme, I hope that the click through rate will show the real value of our ad placements.

I maintain that we are being shortchanged for opting out of the exclusive programme from the vast difference in revenue from the days before the exclusive programme was introduced and after.

And although it is said that if you were not assigned any ads to display in the past week, your star rating will be unchanged, I noticed that my rating actually fell by ONE star. Oh, the horrors, but it’s out of my control!

No Closure On Declined Post

I was complaining to a friend that my old post on San Diego real estate was declined after thirty days and payment was denied. She told me not to take it too hard since it’s not as if I know all that much about San Diego real estate. Hey, anyone would be pissed off to not get payment for work completed, right?

I may not know all that much about San Diego real estate but I know a little about the nightlife in San Diego from the stories that my sister told me. Apparently, they have a pretty interesting nightlife.

I was surprised that my sister found out about it during her work trip to San Diego. I never knew that she was into such activities because when she was here, she knew nothing about the Ipoh nightlife at all! My, people sure change with times!

Anyway, my issue with the declined post is still unresolved. All I know is that it has been canceled and there would be no payment heading my way. Whatever it is, there should be closure and I need the final word if I may remove the post. Oh well, free advertisement for them.

Will There Be A Succession Of Power Anytime Soon?

Last month, my friend wrote a satirical post on three bald men calling for the premier to vacate his public office. LOL Although I’m rather politically aware, for the life of me, I could only determine two bald men. Who is the third one?

I sent my friend a text message asking him to identify the third man and he told me that it’s the Member of Parliament of such and such a constituency. I was like, “Eh, is he STILL bald? I thought he went for hair restoration already?” My friend replied, “Notchet.” hahah!

Well, whether there are two or three bald men applying pressure for a succession of power in Malaysian politics, it looks like the premier is determined to see through two terms in office as the P.M. of Malaysia. It’s all pretty interesting but I tell you, no matter who is the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister or Chief Minister, life will still be the same for ordinary folks.

What’s On Your Mind?

As a blogger who is exposed to public, all bloggers are, anyway, sometimes it is just scary that there are people coming to read your blog and leaving without leaving a comment. Well, I have gotten used to that.

Another scary thing is that there will be someone who search your name or handle on the search engines and come upon your blog. This happens from time to time and I know that there are loyal readers who do this because they do not want to Bookmark my blog or subscribe to my RSS Feed.

But the scariest of all are the people who come to your blog from don’t-know-where and start reading the latest post and going back to the very first post! It’s fine if these people leave me a comment or something but no, they leave as silently as they arrived and they sometimes even show other people links to my post.

EYERRR!! Who are you? What do you want? What’s on your mind? What intentions do you have???

Have You Filed Your Taxes Already?

My sister tells me that 15th April is a huge day in the United States. It’s like the world has come to a halt because every one is busy filing their taxes. I thought only Malaysians do things at the last minute!

My friend, who is a tax audit lawyer in the United States, told me that April is the busiest time of the year for him and it is the same story every year!

For Malaysians, the last day to file tax is 30th April, 2008. It’s always 30th April yearly. Did you know that there are still many working people who are unaware of the deadline even though they have been filing their tax returns for years? I think they are so lucky to have good tax audit lawyers taking care of everything for them!

But for the majority of us, from now until the last day of April, we will all be busy with our tax forms and auditors! This is one stress-filled season, I tell you!

What IS Web 2.0?

A little while ago, I was at my old forum haunt. Boy, it has been a long while since I went there. There was a thread where the thread starter asked what is Web 2.0. Well, I am sure everyone has heard of Web 2.0 but how do you explain it?

Show me a couple of web applications and I will let you know if they qualify to be Web 2.0 Applications! But to ask me to explain it in a coherent sentence, I am afraid I am not able to do it without copying from Wikipedia!

Now I remember why I have not been to the forum for such a long time. It irritates me that members would just open a thread and post a question, just about whatever question that pops into their head, without checking if the answer is already on the web!

Personally, I will just search for the answer online. Why post a thread and wait for others to reply?

Link Exchange Email Solicitation

A couple of days ago, I received an email from a lady who sought to exchange links with me. Well, I have no problem with exchanging links for mutual benefit as long as the site is relevant to my own niche. The problem was that the URL that she wanted to place her link on is not my website!

One would have thought that she would be more careful when seeking to exchange links with another website or blog. I know that she sends out numerous emails like this to other webmasters but what a blunder she made! Shame! Shame! I never even bother to reply her or check out what her website is all about. Forget about it, lah!

But actually, I am not keen on exchanging links because once you have verified that you link is on their website, soon after, they will remove it. Cheh… who has the time to keep checking if the link is in place?

Random Thoughts Off My Mind
