Does it irritate you to have to update your software all the time? Just like the amount of times WordPress is updated through the year, there are a handful of programmes that I use regularly that requires an update almost every time I launch it.

I would understand if the programme was an anti-virus or firewall programme so they need to be updated all the time to keep our system protected but NO, these are just regular programmes, which I shall not name.

The other day, I just installed a programme and from what I understood, was the latest version. I had to install a fresh copy because my computer crashed and I had to install everything. Anyway, the same night, when I wanted to use the programme again, I was told that a new version is available. What? So fast?

Sigh… when this happens, I usually just skip the upgrade. They usually are nothing important, anyway.

My father has been nagging me to start a blog for him. I know how it is. I would have to do everything for him and what he does is only add in the content.

I asked him what sort of blog he wants so that I could buy him a matching domain name and he says that he wants to start a joke blog. OH OH! I know he has a large database of hamsup jokes so no way I was going to allow him to publish those jokes on the web!

The he said that he also wanted to write political posts on the blog. I said cannot because he would not have a niche blog anymore. Either he sticks to jokes or politics only but he told me that he needs “interim”!

I told my friend that my father wants to be a blogger too and my friend told me to make sure that my father writes for PPP and publishes AdSense as well. Damn funny!

26,421,398 Alexa Reading

I thought that my own Alexa readings were high for my blogs and was even rather concerned that no matter what I do, how ever much traffic has increased, the figures just continued to climb. I know that many people re saying that Alexa is irrelevant but I prefer a lower number than a higher one even if it’s only for cosmetic proposes!

Last week, while blog hopping, I had a shock when I saw that one blog, which I have forgotten whose blog it is anymore, has an Alexa of 26,421,398. That’s right, almost 26.5 million!

Hah…. I thought that once the Alexa is above a certain number, it will not be displayed anymore but I don’t know what happened to this blog that it achieved such a high number. Well, if this is the figure in my bank balance then I would be jumping with joy but it my blog has this Alexa reading, I would be pretty depresses, I tell you!

I have a theory that our Alexa readings have gone bonkers no thanks to all the new blogs that our has-been politicians have started. Well, even though are already on the verge of retiring from active politics, there are still plenty of blog readers reading and commenting on these blogs, if only to verbally bash them up!

Extremely Ridiculous

Last week, I was emailed a task but guess what? Soon after, received a rejection and there was no reason given besides the standard form letter informing me that my task has been rejected and that I should try again.

As far as I know, I met all the requirements stipulated by the company and the advertiser. So I submitted my post again and appended a note saying that they should specify where my error lies so that I could rectify my post.

If only it was this simple!

I received another TWO rejections and received the SAME email notification without additional information. It boggles the mind why it is so difficult for them to drop me a line telling me what is wrong with my post instead of just sending me canned messages!

Do they even read? Do they even know how to type? Don’t know English issit? Or just rejecting because they are in a bad mood? If they are not able to give me a reason why my post has been rejected three damn times, then APPROVE it!

This is the same company that declined payment for three of my posts and held up payment for one post, it is still on hold at this time of writing without a valid reason too. They claimed grab bag abuse but I don’t see how their grab bag system could be abused if they don’t show no bag for blogs that do not qualify or if the blogger has already grabbed a bag.

I was told by quite a few bloggers that they have stopped working for this company and I wondered why because all along, I have had a good experience with them. Well, now I know exactly why.

Checking Out Adult Day Services Online

A couple of days ago, a man drove past my home and seeing me outside, stopped his car. He was looking for a senior citizens’ home for his grandfather.

He told me that his grandfather is already 84 years old and have difficulty in walking after a nasty fall not too long ago. They do have an Indon maid but she has to return to her country due to an expiring work permit. The next best course of action would be to place the old man in a home.

It was embarrassing that I could not give him the directions to the home that he wanted because thee are so many here in my residential area and most of them do not have a sign board as their application for licenses are still pending approval from the relevant authorities.

I asked him if he had checked for the address online from adult daycare listings but he did not. I felt really bad that I could not help him much. What I could only do was take down him phone number and the home that he was looking for. I could only promise to let him know once I found out from my neighbors. In the end, turned out that my mother knows which home he was looking for.
