New EntreCard Features

If you have been reading my blog, you will know that I was one of the early members of EntreCard. And then the site receive so many new members and websites that I got lost there. In the early days, I received an additional 20 unique visitors from EntreCard members alone but now, I hardly get one or two but then I am totally not active there.

I only drop cards on blogs that I chance upon during random blog hopping and I do not purposely drop cards from the many blogs listed on EntreCard. Well, I no longer do that because I don’t have the time. Anyway, I stopped adding blogs to EntreCard after my third blog as I ran out of email addresses to register with.

Well, that’s history already because yesterday, I received an email from EntreCard introducing their new features and one of them, the most welcome of all, to me, is the ability to add multiple blogs to a single account.

Yes, I will get down to merging my accounts soon because logging in and out of my accounts, even though I only have three, could be tedious. I wonder how others have the time and patience to do it.

In Search Of Food Niche Blogs and Websites

I will be very busy in the next couple of weeks as I would be helping a friend kick start his new advertising venture. My task is to help look for blogs and websites that are in the food niche. This will include blogs and websites on wine, cooking, recipe, eating out, fine dining and anything that is food related. Hhmm YUMMY!

Talking about food, I have three blogs that I wish to set up within these couple of days, after I have completed updating my blogs, which have been left idle prior to the change in servers. Well, one of them will be a blog on my recipe collection.

I got this idea to share my collection of recipes in a blog after spending one month clearing out my room and discovering a large stack of recipes. So why not share them with people who have a passion for food, right? So yes, this recipe blog is going to be my passion blog as well.

Errr… how many blogs do I have already? O.o

Buying Fresh Flowers From Online Florist

I have a neighbor who is a florist and she has a floral business in town. I see that she does rather good business but I have visited her shop before and I would have to say that she does not have too many varieties of flowers or bouquet designs to select from. Still, she managed to garner loyal customers. They don’t know better, I guess.

If I were to buy a bouquet of flowers, I would rather buy from an online florist because the array of fresh flowers and the many different kinds of floral bouquets are impressive.

Moreover, by buying online, I do not have to worry about keeping the flowers fresh or picking them up from the florist. I just need to pick out what I want in my order, pay for it and it will be delivered to the door of my recipient. Isn’t it way more convenient?

20 WordPress Plug-ins & Counting

I read that installing and activating too many WordPress plug-ins to our blogs will reduce the performance of our servers or something. Gee… I am using slightly more than twenty plug-ins now already and I still have not explored other plug-ins that promote SEO of our blogs.

A friend told me that she uses only a handful of plug-ins and I wonder how it could be. There’s the contact form, spam blocker, comment notification, comment love, archives, stats tracker and sitemap just to name a few. And I would like to think that each plug-in I activate helps my blog in someway so I don’t even know how to reduce the number of plug-ins I use. Like I said, the above are just a handful and off-hand, I can’t even remember my long list of plug-ins.

If you are also blogging on a WordPress powered blog, do you mind sharing with me the plug-ins that you use? I’m trying to look for free WordPress plug-ins that would help with my SEO but so far, I don’t have the time yet.

5GB Free Online Storage With Windows SkyDrive

I receive an email from Windows Live Team almost a week ago regarding their new service. Windows SkyDrive. A free account with Windows SkyDrive will give us 5GB of free online storage space and it looks like we can store documents, music and video files. I wonder if there’s a restriction to our file types.

Anyway, as long as you are connected to the internet, you should be able to access your files and folders wherever you are. And you can also choose to share certain files with friends and family or to open your files or folder to the public.

An online storage facility is always welcome, even if Microsoft is a little late in filling this void, because there may be times when we need to access our files elsewhere. However, if there is no internet access where you are, you would have to depend on your external hard disk drive.

Luxurious Apogee Condo In Miami Beach

A close friend has a holiday home in Marco Island in Florida and he makes trips to Miami Beach ever so often whenever he’s on holiday. After all, Miami Beach is the place to see and be seen. He told me that Miami Beach has developed so much and has become the playground of the rich and famous and that many celebrities own homes there.

One of the most popular homes is the luxurious Apogee Condo Miami Beach. I was shocked to know that each unit sells at a minimum of US$3 million but after checking this development on their website, I can certainly understand why. It is so exclusive that with only 68 units, even at that price, people were clamoring for it.

This friend is an architect and he drives by the Apogee Condo as many times as he could whenever he is in town to admire the architecture of the place. We can dream of owning a unit, too, can’t we?

Tagging & Labeling

I spent the past few days just tagging and labeling my old posts from one WordPress and two Blogger blogs and I tell you, can really puke, man. I did it for SEO purposes and since I could not do anything with seven blogs that were moving house, I had a little free time on my hands so I thought I would put my old blogs in order. When I started these blogs, I did not know about the importance of tagging and labeling. Gosh, there was no such feature built-in either, or I would have used them.

So, all in all, there were approximately 300 posts spread over three blogs. Gee, I tell you, the two Blogger blogs were the killers. Not only was labeling a pain in the behind because we only had one small space to type in our labels, if you are not careful, you could make the mistake of labeling it something else because of its supposedly “auto complete” feature. Oh, how I hate that and it is not that intuitive at all.

Moreover, because of the frequency of my posts being published, most of my Blogger blogs have the Captcha thingy and they are so bloody complex, I keep getting them wrong up to four or five times. It was an extremely tedious process. Boy, I am so glad that I have finished with the task and moving forward, I will just continue to tag and label them as I write and publish each new blog post. *sigh*
