Barack Obama Provided With Unfair Media Attention

Do you think that Barack Obama seems to have an unfair advantage in his bid to be president of the United States? I think so. I do not understand why the media has given him way too much attention and media exposure. Is it because he will be the first black President of the United States should he win the hearts of the majority of American and ultimately the elections?

Like I said, Barack Obama may seem like a breath of fresh air, or sunshine or whatever you call it, in an economic downturn, but really, a Presidential candidate can promise you anything to win your votes. Whether he will be able to deliver it if given a chance, that is to be seen.

I think that the media should remain neutral and provide equal exposure to both Presidential candidates, and not only highlight the health concerns of Barack Obama’s opponent. There is a debate on UberSpat regarding this issue and it is hotly debated. What is your opinion?

Double Whammy

If there is something that could cause the whole of Malaysia to curse and swear in unison, it’s the increase in petrol and diesel prices starting midnight. Heck, it affects EVERYONE! And as if this is not bad enough, household electricity tariff is slated to increase by 18% per home with effect from 1st July, 2008.

Sometimes I wonder what sorts of people are running the country. Don’t they know that a steep increase in petrol and electricity will kill the economy? Oh yeah I think the PhD holder in economics has been put in cold storage or something.

I don’t want to hear the crap about the lowest fuel prices in South East Asia, the cheapest electricity rates among ASEAN countries or the lowest price broadband in Asia. All I know is that our earning power is not increasing in tandem.

And before I forget, Pakatan Perak State Government, where is our free water???

Raja Petra [RPK] Jailed

Today, Raja Petra failed to post his bail of RM5000 and has now been taken to jail. I learned that his fans, supporters and readers donated a total of RM24K and USD3.2K via PayPal… and yet he did not use the money to pay. We wonder why.

I told my friend, that RPK, by being a hero like this and trying to be a political martyr is being very selfish to his family. Does anyone agree with me, or do you all also think that country comes first?

On the other hand, perhaps we need more people like RPK. Politics are high stakes games and not everyone could afford or are willing to play

Raja Petra To be Charged For Sedition Tomorrow

I read on Blig Blogging that Raja Petra, or lovingly known by his millions of loyal readers as RPK will be charged in the Magistrates Court tomorrow for sedition.

This is a totally serious charge and with the Malaysian judiciary system in tatters, I wonder what the outcome will be. Being charged for sedition, perhaps, is better compared to getting ISA-ed…. there is NO trial at all for ISA detainees.

Aiya… that’s why, when you are a blogger, especially a political blogger, you can’t write anything that could implicate yourself. Even for ordinary low key bloggers like myself, we get strange visits from people from the Government and police. They DO prowl the cyberspace, you know?
This looks like a major set back for the fight for media freedom and freedom of thought and expression in Malaysia.

Cindy, The First Malaysian Dreamgirl

As I predicted in my post dated 14th March, 2008, on the Malaysian Dreamgirl reality show, I’m doing a post once the winner has been declared.

Well, last night, if you do not already know, a girl by the name of Cindy, has ousted two other finalists, Hanis and Adeline, in the Malaysian Dreamgirl finale in One Utama to bag the first ever Malaysian Dreamgirl title.

Her win was based solely on the highest number of SMS votes garnered so whatever points that these girls have gained from the judges in the earlier rounds were no longer taken into consideration.

If you like any of these three girls, you should have cast your votes to show support to her, and only via SMS voting.

Well, I think that the winners in reality shows like these are the telcos, and of course, the winning contestant. The losers are the general audience, who “die die” also must vote even when the telcos and show organisers bleed you of your prepaid credit, just for whatever entertaining value these reality shows are worth.

That’s why although I may sometimes watch these reality shows, I don’t see why I should cast any vote at all. Who wins or lose, I don’t care either way.

Kira Is Back, This Time With Sex Photos of Jolin Tsai

As promised, Kira came back online in late April, 2008 to leak new sex photos of Edison Chen, this time they are of photos of Edison Chen with popular Taiwanese singer, Jolin Tsai. You may probably know her as Jolin Cai as well. They are one and the same, though.

Their photos are now all over the internet and you can’t help but wonder how many more photos of Edison Chen and female Hong Kong or Taiwanese celebrities are Kira holding, waiting for just the right time to bomb the web.

While Edison Chen has claimed copyright of these leaked homemade sex photos, for want of a better word instead of just “PORN”, he can copyright all he wants and there would still be people publishing and reproducing them on their blogs, websites and forums. Just because!

The search for Edison Chen’s sex photos by internet users never stopped since the first of these photos were leaked in late January, 2008 and right now, with fresh photos making the rounds, internet users are once again having a filed day online.

Have you cancelled your plans for the day? LOL

Will There Be A Succession Of Power Anytime Soon?

Last month, my friend wrote a satirical post on three bald men calling for the premier to vacate his public office. LOL Although I’m rather politically aware, for the life of me, I could only determine two bald men. Who is the third one?

I sent my friend a text message asking him to identify the third man and he told me that it’s the Member of Parliament of such and such a constituency. I was like, “Eh, is he STILL bald? I thought he went for hair restoration already?” My friend replied, “Notchet.” hahah!

Well, whether there are two or three bald men applying pressure for a succession of power in Malaysian politics, it looks like the premier is determined to see through two terms in office as the P.M. of Malaysia. It’s all pretty interesting but I tell you, no matter who is the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister or Chief Minister, life will still be the same for ordinary folks.
