Car Insurance Champs

My sister is planning to get a new car, and with added expenses, she is trying to get cheap car insurance. There are actually many companies that offer car insurance but depending on how much time we could spare to shop for a policy that meets our needs, it could take up plenty of time and attention than one has.

I suggested to my sister to try out Car Insurance Champs, an online site that would allow her to easily request for car insurance according to her requirements. She would need to furnish some information about herself, as the driver, and also about her car. Since her car is new, it shouldn’t pose a problem.

There are many car insurance options available in the market, actually, so it would do good to do some research first before requesting for insurance quotes. Frankly, many of us are just insured minimally, which is not really sufficient if an accident occurs. Therefore, evaluate carefully each policy, and do not purchase purely based on premium rate.

Anyway, if you are also checking out car insurance, it saves a lot of time retrieving your quotes online. Best of all, requests are sent to you free of charge!

Searching For A Course Online

My niece dropped by my house over the weekend to use my computer. She said she needed to look for urgent information online and her computer at home is down.

My niece just received her high school diploma, you see, and she is very excited about her new course of studies but hasn’t found any thing that she liked to study locally. Seeing how she loved to dress up prettily all the time, I suggested she take up a beauty course. She has flair and would be a great service to womenfolk when she graduates!

I recommended Regency Beauty to her because this is a beauty institute in the United States with a long history. They have some 80 campuses in 19 states across the country.

4 Lucky Twitter Followers Breakfast With PM

4 lucky Twitter followers of Prime Minister, Najib Razak, and a friend each, were treated to breakfast with the Prime Minister for an hour at a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. It must have been a dream come true for them.

News reports did not specify how these four people were chosen, except that one of the winners is the 500,000th follower of the Prime Minister.

According to the winners, the Prime Minister was affable, and chatted about many subjects, including sports. However, he was tight-lipped when it came to disclosing when the upcoming election would be.

Hooked On Smartphones

An informal survey in The Star newspaper found that over 60% of the respondents could not live without their smart phones.

Of the 1,336 people who participated in the survey, 86% used their phones to check email messages, tweets or update their Facebook status, with 65% admitting to doing so during meetings, while 59% of the respondents confessed to being on the phone while driving, hopefully it’s whilst being stuck in a traffic jam!

While I too depend on my smart phone a lot, I wouldn’t say that I am addicted to using it. For me, it’s more like a necessity, where I use it to check my messages and to get updated on news when I am not sitting in front of the computer.

Nokia Lost US$1.5B in 2011

Finnish phone maker Nokia posted US$1.5 billion loss in 2011, compared to a profit of US$2.3 billion in 2010. Nokia seemed to have had a tough year last year. However, the company seems to be in a positive mood despite that, and claimed that their new Windows 7 mobile devices have received good sales, particularly in the United States.

Nokia has certainly been struggling to hold on to its market share, where the company has been a prominent player in the mobile device market for years, until Apple came along with their iPhones and Samsung began to come out with more and more fanciful devices. Somehow, Symbian phones seemed to have lost appeal.

19% American Adults Own Tablets

I read an article just now saying that almost 19% of Americans now own a tablet computer, that’s like almost one in every five adults. The growth for tablets actually was stuck at 10% for a long time but it nearly doubled over the holiday season. Wow, I think a lot of people bought a tablet last year.

I can’t help but wonder, though, how many people actually use it productively. I bet most of the tablet devices would end up being just another huge game device, or an eBook reader. In fact, the growth of eBook readers increased at the same rate, almost doubling ownership from 10% to 19%.

Walgreens Prescription Savings Club

This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.

Walgreens is currently holding a super promotion. The Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens will until 31st Jan, 2012, be only $10 for family membership and $5 for individuals. For the family membership, it covers the member and spouse and children below 22 years of age. Additionally, the membership even covers the family pet(s).

A membership with Walgreens Prescription Savings Club entitles one to discount prices on prescriptions, not only all the generic brands but also on 8000 brand name medications. This also applies to flu shots, diabetic suppliers, nebulizers and even pet prescriptions. Members receive bonuses when they purchase any photofinishing services or buy products with the Walgreens brand.

If you are on long term medication, I am sure you know that the cost of medication continues to rise. Having a membership subscription like this will help you cut cost and stay within budget even if medication gets more and more expensive! It is great that this membership covers brand name medication as well, and even for pets. I had a sick pet before and wished there was something like this back then!

If you like Walgreens, and would like to stay updated with news and happenings, LIKE Walgreens on Facebook and/or follow Walgreens on Twitter. I already have.
