Residential Rehabilitation Center

I have written quite a few true life accounts of people who suffered from drug addiction. I have seen how it can destroy and individual and his family and I have seen the miracles drug rehabilitation can do.

Many people hide the fact that they need professional help and try to kick the habit by themselves due to shame and lack of knowledge but a drug addict has to be matched with effective rehabilitation and treatment programs like those offered by Cliffside Malibu.

How does one know what treatment program is the most suitable? This is where the counselors from Cliffside Malibu come in. I believe that no matter what kind of addiction one is suffering from, when he has the support and understanding he can beat the odds.

Clone Golf Clubs

I am not a golfer but my friend, Paul, has just picked up the hobby. He said that since he does not have that much time to devote to the hobby, he does not want to spend so much on golfing equipment. He will only upgrade when he has more time to play.

So I asked him if he would consider using knockoff clone golf clubs instead of paying premium for major brand names.

He said that he wouldn’t mind because clone golf clubs have the same design, style and material but without the price tag! According to Paul, he is already using clone clubs and they don’t hurt his game or his pockets!

Moreover, with cheaper clone golf clubs, Paul could have a wider collection of clubs to suit his game.

Understanding Drug Addicts

If you have been following my other blog closely, you will know that I write a lot about the evils of drug addiction. It is because that a few people in my neighborhood are drug addicts as well as a few of my relatives.

I have seen how drug addiction destroys not only the addict but also his family, friends and loved ones. A drug addict is more often than not too preoccupied with his next fix to care about his life.

Many of these drug addicts are unable to work or earn a decent income and because they have no money and yet they need money to buy drugs to feed their addiction, they resort to stealing.

I would not say that they are too be blamed for causing much hurt and damage to the family unit. They are often living in their own world and not know what they have done. However, I do believe that drug addicts are weak willed. This is the main obstacle that prevents them from kicking their bad habit.

Often they are the ones that deny that they ever have a problem and it takes much convincing and cajoling to get them to go for drug rehab. They feel as if they have lost but in fact, they are one step closer to winning over drugs.

In cases like these, the family has to provide very strong support and continue to believe that this drug addict can overcome this addiction no matter how difficult it is.

I have seen the difference between a family that cares and a family does not. And a family that cares is the family that managed to pull itself together when the victim finally managed to kick the addiction.

Atlantis, Then & Now

Have you heard the story that Atlantis Was a Real Place, the Americas? I think it is plausible, seeing the land formation from 11,000 years ago to the Americas that we know of today.

The website, Kingdom of Atlantis, is a comprehensive resource site with full information and research papers on Atlantis and its ruler, Atlas.

Previously, I have always thought that Atlantis was a fabled land but coming across this website, I am thinking there are too many coincidental data, then and now, not to believe that Atlantis actually did exist and it did not sink. Otherwise, where is America?

If you are up to doing a little brain exercise, I urge you to check out Kingdom of Atlantis and match the facts.

Atlantis Was a Real Place, the Americas

The kingdom of Atlantis included North, South, and Central America. It was divided into ten countries or kingdoms and each country had its own King. One of the kingdoms was also called Atlantis. The King of Atlantis was the ruler over the other nine Kingdoms. The first ruler of the Kingdom was called Atlas. This is how Atlantis got its name.

The royal city of the kingdom was located within the country of Atlantis. Within the royal city there was a royal palace. Originally, three different moats surrounded the royal palace. Plato referred to the moat formation as three zones of water and two zones of land.

As time went by they covered over the moats and cut three canals through the peninsula on which the royal palace was located. The construction of the canals divided the peninsula and formed two triangular shaped islands. The island that held the royal palace was called Atlantis. That is why Atlantis is referred to as a continent, and city, and an island.

Read the short version of Plato’s story at www.atlantiskingdom.com to learn more about Atlantis and the Americas. Then read Plato’s Timaeus and Critias to get the complete story.

I have matched the terrain features that Plato wrote about with present terrain features found in the Tampa Bay area. Research shows that Plato described Harbour Island as the small island of Atlantis. You will find that Plato recorded and published the story just as it was told. He even recorded the discussions leading up to the story. You will also notice several obvious mistakes made in translating the story from Egyptian to Greek and from Greek to English. The biggest mistake occurred when travelers came upon a shoal of mud and thought it was left over from the sunken island. They were wrong. The continent of Atlantis did not sink.

You are invited to review the facts to see for yourself that the Americas, from South America to Alaska were once the kingdom of Atlantis, a single nation. The land formation is still laid out the same as it was over 11,000 years ago. It is best viewed from the air. See image.

It’s Mother’s Day Again!

It is going to be Mother’s Day soon. I still remember the previous Mother’s Day. It was just like yesterday. Where has all the time gone?

This year, my siblings asked me what I should get for mother. No matter what people say, I still feel that Mothers Day roses are the best. Our mother loves roses, anyway.

Even so, I would love it that we each give her an individual Mother’s Day gift to surprise her. I am sure our mother will think we will only send roses to her, AS USUAL. What a surprise she would get!

Besides the roses, I think I will have a hard time figuring out what to give her on this special occasion. Mother is such a simple lady that she will like no matter what we give her. Moreover, when we ask her if she has any request, she will always reply in the negative. And if I were to buy something expensive for her, she will complain that I am wasting money. You know, it really is not easy being her daughter.

I asked a friend what he is giving his mom this Mother’s day and he said he will just give cash because it is the most practical gift on earth. I think I will just follow suit.

LifeLines Family Services

Since writing about troubled teens, a friend told me that I should write about LifeLines Family Services – Education Consultants For Troubled Teens which he and his wife have found effective for their struggling son.

LifeLines Family Services represents youth programs and assist families in matching the youth with the most suitable program. I always believe that if the parents are not able to handle their teenager, then let the professionals do it.

Poor Student In California

My cousin is a student in California. He has just bee admitted to his university’s fraternity chapter. While I have not been to university before, I really did not know how tough it is to be admitted but my cousin told me all that he went through just to get accepted into a chapter. I guess that is something to celebrate about!

I soon found out that he told me the good news because he wanted a loan. He said that he has to buy Greek Merchandise in order to be “one of the guys” and they all crave for uniformity.

Ignorant me did not know that they need special Greek gear but thank god they are inexpensive. My cousin said he needs extra money to send flowers to London. She has gone to visit London and since her birthday is coming soon, he needs to get the flowers over. I can sympathize with his situation and so I agreed to loan him some money. I even gave him extra to buy a student health insurance policy.

I told him that he need not repay the loan to me until after graduation. I have now branched off to trading on eBay Motors and business has picked up so I have some cash to spare. Thank god.
