Santa Claus Offline

I noticed that Santa Claus has gone offline from my Windows Live Messenger for the past two days. What happened to the BOT? I thought that it could be online 24/7? I told my sister that I chatted with Santa Claus on messenger and she asked if I he is not some sleazy old man. Hahaha!

Well, I think that after writing that blog post where I published the transcript of our chat, Santa Claus has blocked me. :( I thought that I would chat with him again last night as I had some time to while away. Oh well.

I do, however, have many other Windows Messenger Live IDs which I could use to add him to my buddy list of my messenger but for what lah…. waste time only! Well, I would like to think that it’s “his” loss for not chatting with me. Haha!

Memorable Weddings

That day, I wrote a post on taking candid shots at wedding reception and dinner. Well, I remember taking one photo of very beautiful wedding flowers during a wedding of a relative and it was so nice that bridal couple had the photo enlarged and framed.

A cousin of mine decided not to throw a wedding dinner when he married his bride because he said that it is very expensive to do so. Well, I think that it would not be expensive if we know where to source for items required for a wedding reception and dinner.

In the case of flowers, I know that couples are buying them in bulk, thus saving a chunk of money compared to buying them from retail florists. Well, a little savings here and there go a long way in giving us more worth for our money.

Subscribing to Denver Magazine

The other day, I wrote about a company that provides discounted annual subscription to popular magazines. Today, I was reminded of another magazine that is open for subscription and they are charging $29.99 per year or $49.99 for two years.

A long time ago, I went to the website of Denver Magazine and today, I had the chance to check out their website again and I saw that they have revamped their website. It is so refreshing now.

Although this magazine is called Denver Magazine, I understand that people from other states also enjoy reading it. My sister is also a subscriber, thanks to a subscription gift from a colleague, and she said that there’s plenty to read even though she has no particular interest in Denver, living in Tennessee herself!

I think that $29.99 is so affordable for a year of a good read. Don’t you think so?

How Fast Can I Type?

I have so many posts to type I wonder how many words I can type per minute. I know that while I could type fast, I need IDEAS to blog on also. A friend told me that she would have to stay up tonight to complete her blogs but then blog about WHAT?

I was told of a website which will calculate the speed of our typing but each time I tried that, I was so self-conscious that I typed way too many errors.

Even when I can type fast and I can spell, I don’t know what is wrong with my fingers, untrained, unprofessional kind of typing that I will ALWAYS get that handful of words WRONGLY.

Why is that so? I talked to a friend about it and she says that she has the same problem. I think that the keys should be moved to accommodate our individual typing LOL

Cutting Down On Phone Bills

My friend, Lawrence, told me that his company has just discovered the convenience of VoIP Call Center Phone Systems and they have installed it in his office.

I have used this for a couple of years now and have even introduced it to friends whom I know have contacts with international companies. International phone calls are very expensive and would easily run up the bill but with VOIP, we can talk without having to rush our conversation and bring our point across precisely.

If you use international telephony heavily, then I am sure that you have heard your fair share of “Make it quick” as soon as you pick up the phone. Well, with VOIP, that would be history already. No longer do you have to sound rude to the receiving end by making it quick.

One thing that surprised me when I first used VOIP is the voice clarity. I had thought that if the voice quality is lousy, I would willingly pay regular call rates but that did not happen, luckily!

Free Phone Chatting!

If you have been young before, I am sure you know how it is like to be a teenager, chatting on the phone for hours. We call that “boiling phone porridge” but the problem is that we could unwittingly run up the telephone bill much to our parents’ horror!

Although I am no longer a teenager, I still chat on the phone for hours on end almost every night with friends who are out of state and even out of the country! it is just that now I am supporting myself and paying the phone bills myself. The fun is still there, though!

If you are an American teenager, there is good news for you! This morning, I was told of a free teen chat site where teenagers can chat with other teen members on the phone for free. There is a dedicated number to call in to and there is no compromise of our personal contact numbers until and unless we are comfortable with the opposite party and would like to take the friendship further!

I did not know that chat lines like these are very popular until my sister, who lives in the United States, told me about it. Her colleagues who have teenage children said that they find free chat services like this safer for them since their identity is undisclosed.

The good thing is that members can select to chat with members in their locality or out of state. What I personally like is that this is like an answering machine service as well. We do not have to be online or on the phone the whole time to chat. Interested parties could leave us a voice message which we could pick up later. This is so fun I wish I were a teenager again!

Furniture That Lasts A Lifetime

If you have been reading my blog, you would know that I have been looking for office and computer furniture for my small office at home. I have already partitioned my room and intend to turn the other side into a work place so all I need now is proper furniture. With two sets of desktop computers and a laptop that I am buying soon, with a printer and fax machine and other office automation, I am in desperate need of REAL furniture.

My dad suggested that I buy DIY furniture and he will help me to fix them up but I am not keen in those. They may be cheaper but I do not want to invest time and money on chipboard furniture that will not last long. They also get out of shape when you move them!!

Right now, furniture from Versa Tables totally appeals to me. I dig their designs and look like they would last a lifetime! I believe that Versa Tables is one of the top manufacturers of school computer furniture considering that they recently won a large school furniture contract.
