Debt Relief and Credit Card Consolidation Help

I got to know that a friend of mine is heavily in debt. I was surprised as he is a high earner in the top management level of his company and YET he is still in debt. I am of course sorry to hear that he is in serious financial trouble but I cannot help him by lending money to him.

I can however, try to help him to change his ways so that he can manage his finances better. I also found a website for him so that he could read up on debt relief and perhaps request for a consultation. It’s free, after all and he definitely NEEDS it!

I also told him that since most of his debt is from his numerous credit cards, it is best that he get a credit card consolidation. Some people say this is not a good idea but I think that he could get a lower interest rate and improve his credit score and also it is better to take care of one debt than to have to take care of various debts throughout the month.

It is a shame that an adult like him that be such a poor personal financial manager. I think that it is to his best interest to seek help. We don’t want his superiors to know about it or he may lose his job and then get into a worse financial fix than he already is in!

Living In Debt

I feel that many people are become less able to manage their finances. For one, it is getting increasingly easy to apply for loans, especially unsecured loans and the interest rates are so high but the borrower will never think of that when all he wants is some cash on hand.

Many of my friends are already living in debt although they are still young. Most have a car loan while some have home improvement loans. The worst people are those who take out secured loans so that they can start a business. I think these are the worst lot because can you imagine what happens if their business venture fails and then they end up losing their business AND also their asset, most probably their family home?

Sometimes, I feel like the poorer one is, the worse it gets due the the ease in apply for loans, hence the a life riddled with debts. Unfortunately, this is the reality of life in the 21st Century.

Settle Your Credit Card Bills On Time

After reading my post that I do not own a Credit Card anymore a blog reader was very surprised.

It is not that I do not want to use a credit card anymore. I still think that credit cards are an important part of our modern lifestyle since we are heading towards a paperless and cashless daily living.

I feel that for expensive purchases, we are better off swiping our credit card, and it is all the more beneficial if we have a credit card that rewards us with a cash back program.

What I feel that is evil about the plastic card is that the temptation to spend is very great and the ability to borrow money so easily against the credit card

If we are disciplined to only use the credit card as long as we settle our outstanding credit card bill at the end of the month before we are charged an interest then more power to us!

Why I Don’t Own A Credit Card

I have owned a couple of credit cards previously but I have cancelled them due to the many problems I faced. However, that bad experience did not put me off credit cards for life. I am currently looking for one of the 0% credit cards where I can use the card without interest for the first six months. This is a good deal for me provided I remember when my six-month free interest period will be up!

When I had my first credit card, my card was cloned and I only found out from my bill that I have a whole list of unauthorized purchases. Somehow, the bank thought that I was the one who bought all those items. I was mad that they never called me up to verify.

I heard that there are cards offering 0% balance transfers so I switched cards.

I do not know what is wrong with me, with my name or with my credit cards. My PIN of my credit card was hacked and once again, I faced the same problem. I decided that enough is enough and I cancelled my card, AGAIN.

Hopefully, I will have better luck with my third credit card.

The Ease Of Applying For Loans

There used to be a time when it was a big deal to qualify for a loan but nowadays, it is so easy to apply for loans and approval is usually within minutes, without even the need for a credit check or to append any supporting documents like a pay slip to proof one has the ability to repay the loan.

I have friends who have so many credit cards and they can take out a credit card loan for each card. Naturally, they are financially not able to repay all their loans since they do not even earn that much.

There is a friend, Marc, who has such a bad credit rating and yet he needed a loan. Most financial institutions turned his application down, of course, but there was still a handful of lenders who were more than happy to approve his bad credit loan. I do not know if they are helping him or putting him in a worse financial situation.

People like Marc usually opt for an unsecured loan so that should they fail to repay their loan, their fixed assets will not be repossessed.

I did tell them to learn to consolidate debt for easier debt management but the way I see it, they are still leading a lavish lifestyle, rather than living within their means.

Global Medical Insurance

Just the other day, I was chatting with my friend, Paul, about my pet’s failing health and I told him that I just spent two thousand dollars on medical fees. I told him that luckily I could pay for it. If I could not, it would be very painful to see my pet dying a slow death, knowing that medical aid is available but out of my financial reach. And Paul told me that if I don’t have the money, I don’t have it. Thank god I was not put in that position.

Paul took the opportunity to tell me that I should get insurance coverage for myself. Medical fees is not getting cheaper and with the advancement of technology, many illnesses could be cured, except that mot come with a hefty price tag, just like what I experienced in my pet’s recent bout of illnesses.

I went online to search for medical insurance and came across the website of a Global Medical Insurance company. I have zero knowledge on insurance and do not know what kind of policy is suitable for me. I am afraid that I may not be eligible to claim for my insurance should anything happen to me. I have heard many horror stories from friends that have taken out various policies and then find that they are not compensated when they really needed the money.

Reading through the website, I have gained some insightful information on the various insurance policies that are available to an individual like me. It is great to be educated so that I can make a better decision on which insurance policy to take out.

I am also glad that I could get professional advice and free quotation on my policy by just filling out the simple form provided and I will be contacted within 24 hours.

Also, I see that one could take out travel insurance and I definitely will tell my father about this since he travels so often. It is great to be covered as a precautionary measure. As the saying goes, “It’s better to be safe than sorry.”
