When Is The Right Time For A Site Revamp?

The other day, I read the website of a web designer, who asked, when is the right time for a website revamp. As someone who has numerous blogs, personal websites and ecommerce site, I don’t really care if a site is too old fashioned or whatever. What I want is simplicity, neat and clean lines and user-friendliness.

I prefer a site that is easy to navigate, easy to use, easy for me to look for what I want without clicking on too many links and feeling like I am lost and spending too much time looking for something.

Give me a website that has the best Web 2.0 design visually, but it if it does not function the way most of us think a website should work logically, what is the use? There ARE sites that make you feel like you are hitting walls when you try to navigate it and sites like that, I don’t want to log in at all if not necessary.

Well, I don’t think I want to name names but if too many people are searching other sites for information when they should be able to obtain at the official website, something must not be wrong somewhere already!

Free Yahoo Ymail Rocketmail

Have you registered with Ymail and Rocketmail yet? These two are Yahoo!’s new email domains. I think I remember Rocketmail from way back Perhaps Yahoo! has just acquired them or something.

Two evenings ago, I registered two email accounts with Ymail. One is with my real name and one is with my online handle that I have used for ages. If you know either one of these names, you could probably reach out to me there.

I am not interested in Rocketmail, though. It’s too kindy for me.

At the moment, I have no intention of using either of my new Ymail accounts. I am thinking of moving some contacts over from my old Yahoo email but I don’t know where to move to yet. Gmail or Ymail?

I know that some people are unimpressed with Yahoo’s move to create two new email domains and they say that Yahoo has copied Gmail with their Ymail but I remember that Yahoo mail has always been Y! Mail so who is the copy cat here?

The reason that I registered with Ymail is to reserve my own online ID and real name. This is the first time I got a free email account with my own name. Yes, it is SO common! Anyway, let’s just see what I am going to use these accounts for a little into the future.

Firefox Download Day

Firefox Download Day came and went. For the uninitiated, it was on 17th June, 2008, US time. I know that many people downloaded a copy of it by the promise of faster speed and security.

As for me, I don’t want no frills in my browser. I am waiting for the speed and improved security as well but what I want, need, are for my add-ons to work.

Right now, I believe not all the add-ons that I use every single second that I am online, have been updated. The other day, I tried it when Firefox 3 was in beta and I had to uninstall. So I will have to wait for developers of my favorite add-ons to release newer versions first.

Still, each time I am online, I actually use four different browsers AT THE SAME TIME. Firefox, Opera and IE and Maxthon. I used to run Safari as well but I find that it is

Fake Page Rank

I read in a forum that there are many blogs and websites that fake their page rank. The owners do so because they want to earn as much money as possible at the shortest time possible.

While many of us slog at our blogs or websites and then wait for our page ranks to be updated, and at the whims and fancies of corporate search engine companies to boot, those who cloak their real page rank get their sites redirected to most established high authority sites. Well, I don’t have a technical mind so I do not know how it works but I know that there are people doing that.

Why would they take the trouble to do so knowing full well that this is just short term wealth? They will surely sooner than later be found out and get themselves blacklisted, right? Sigh, I don’t know how people think but when there is a way to cheat, they WILL!

Study RFID Course Online or On Your Computer

My friend was telling me about the RFID course that he studied recently but the good news is that I found out that this company is offering E-learning courses on many subjects, especially on RFID. I was told that this course is very easy to understand and that studying RFID via Abisham Softwares, is only US$100.

Just by paying this amount of money, you can download the entered RFID training course to your computer and study from there.

I understand that other companies that offer a similar course would require students to study it online. As for me, I am sure that I do not have the discipline to study online. so if I were to Now learn all about RFID, the US$100 would be worth paying for!

If you are even slightly interested in RFID technology, do know that Abisham Softwares is offering a basic course in RFID technology for free! So why not check out for yourself what RFID technology s all about?

Shitty Stuffs That Prevent Us From Accessing Our Websites

Running so many blogs and websites, I thought I already know about all the things that make us unable to access our sites. If the internet is down, bring out the back up line. If there’s no electricity, use the laptop, likewise if the computer is down. If the laptop is down, go back to desktop.

If the server is down all the time there’s nothing much we can do but to change servers, like what happened to me and in fact, I am still facing a problem of having my post-server migration blog posts crawled by the search engines and I don’t know what is wrong.

This morning, though, I got to know that there was a fire in the data centre of The Planet, a very popular web hosting company that caused a slew of major websites to go down. Off hand, I discovered EntreCard and StatCounter.

I use both services. No wonder I am not able to check my traffic statistics. And I thought that I would check if my traffic did increase after a little experiment. SIGH. There’s nothing we could do but sit it out.

Cashing In On International Web Users

If you are a webmaster with a commercial website, then I am sure you will find it a little difficult to receive payment from internet users who would like to purchase your product. I was a little surprise to learn that there are still millions of people who do not own a credit card. Well, I thought that credit cards are a little too common already but I was wrong. Besides, not all credit card holders are comfortable sharing their credit card particulars over the internet.

If you have a product to sell, perhaps you would like to know about Password By Call. This is a service which allows you, the seller, to offer a feature to your customers to dial in for a password, which they can then use to access your password protected area of you website, perhaps to make a purchase or to use a service or feature that you are selling.

By offering Password By Call, I believe that your conversion rate with shoot up since it is convenient and secure for people all over the world to give you their business.
