Google Logo Art Beijing 2008: Dragon Ping Pong / Table Tennis

There’s another dragoon on the Google logo art today, and it s playing ping pong. Some people refer to ‘ping pong’ as ‘table tennis’. I really love the dragon because it is elaborate and the colors are very striking and vibrant. I think that this could possibly be the best Google logo art to date, not taking the very first Google logo art of the opening ceremony of Beijing 2008 into account.

And I still maintain that the ugliest one to date is the “beast” playing badminton three days ago. Hehe! I wonder what animal from the Chinese Horoscope (or zodiac if you like) will be appearing on Google tomorrow. I just look forward to see a new logo art every day and I will miss this when the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games end.

So far, we have had the cycling sheep, weightlifting mouse, diving pig, rhythmic gymnastics cow, ring gymnastics monkey, basketball dragon, badminton monkey, equestrian horse, rowing dog and table tennis dragon. We still have the tiger, rabbit, snake and rooster. I can’t wait to see them!

No More New Sign Ups At Google Page Creator

Google Page Creator, which provides free webpage building and free hosting services and a free sub-domain to members, an awesome feature of Google, has stopped accepting new sign-ups. Well, I don’t know what happened but I think that maybe they are streamlining their suite of services. It is, of course, a loss to people who did not sign up with Google Page Creator at first.

However, since Google Page Creator is no longer accepting new sign-ups, I wonder how long Google Page Creator services will continue to exist. You know, with a couple of websites that are built and hosted with Google Pages and numerous images uploaded to my accounts and hotlinked to my other webpages across the internet, I am a little worried that they will cease operations and ask us to move our data elsewhere.

Urggg!! That would be terrible! I hope Google won’t shut down Page Creator!

Multimedia Software: Blaze Media Pro

If you noticed lately, you will know that I have been playing with my digital camera. It comes with full video recording capability as well and the only thing I did was to upload my videos to YouTube.

I wanted to convert to AVI and burn to disc but the free programs that I found on the web could always only do one thing and not the other and vice versa. As you know, limitations like that are always frustrating. Worst of all is discovering that the converted video has lost its quality after waiting for ages for the video to be converted!

I got to know of Blaze Media Pro from reading a friend’s blog last week. She’s a gadget girl you see, and way more experienced than I am when it comes to gadgetry and technology. She mentioned about the full features of Blaze Media Pro and that she is contemplating purchasing it. It’s only US$50, she said.

If my friend buys it I will have to consult her on how to make the best use of Blaze Media Pro!

Share Your Thoughts Without Joining

You probably remember that before I indulged in blogging, I was practically spending all my time in carious forums. My friends were the same so much so that they even set up their own forums/ However, I got to know of this forum which has a different layout that gives the conventional forums that we have known for as long a run for their money, so to speak.

Minds Unite allows everyone to Post without Joining. Don’t you think that is great? Anyone would be able to give a little input to an ongoing discussion without having to worry about registration, activating the account, remembering the password and all the nitty gritty stuff that comes with creating a new profile. Of course, if you want to do that, you still could. But I simply think that it is awesome that everyone is given the freedom to speak their mind without joining!

Are You Getting More Spam In Your Gmail?

When Gmail was first launched, Google said that our emailing experience will be entirely changed. Spam will no longer be ca cause for concern and it was true. Spam mail was drastically reduced and for the three accounts that I have, I have managed to keep one totally spam free.

The other two, though, while they were clean in the beginning are now seeing more spam on a daily basis. One of the weirdest kinds of spam emails would be the “headlines” and news alert. These spammers surely are very creative in making up their own headlines that are eye catching and compel us to open their email.

I must mention that these two email accounts that have seen an increased in spam mail recently are my active accounts. I do use them but only for private emailing. I do not use these two accounts to subscribe to mailing lists or something similar so I do not know how these spammers managed to target my account.
