Everybody Needs A Vacation

I wrote so much on Hawaii vacation rentals that one of my readers asked me if I have heard of Florida vacation rentals! Of course I have! My friend, Markus, holidays in Florida every summer! A couple of months ago, he told me that he searched for Panama City vacation rentals on the internet and stumbled upon WeNeedaVacation.com

When I first heard of this company back in June or July, I thought that it is rather an apt name because frankly, we all need a vacation! Preferably once a month!

WeNeedaVacation is a leader in vacation rentals online directory for Florida. This site allows us to search our dream beach vacation rentals, compare them and rent the one that we like the most and that suits our budget the most.

This site also allows property owners to advertise their vacation rentals on the site to be viewed by holiday makers. There is such a vast variety of vacation rentals from beach homes to condos to villas all over Florida that if you are planning a vacation to Florida, whether to Disney World, for golf or to the islands for their beaches, your search should begin with WeNeedaVacation.com. The layout is so user-friendly that you would be able to find our dream vacation rental without wasting much time, despite their huge database of vacation properties!

So Ma Huan!

I have been a member of one particular forum but I never posted before because that is a webmaster forum and since I know nuts about web mastering, although I do have my own sites, I thought I would just lurk around and read posts by other experts and learn a thing or two.

Although I am the silent member there, I do need to use their Private Messaging feature and in fact, that was the primary reason that I registered with the forum in the first place.

This morning, though, I received a private message, went to read and wanted to reply, but I was not allowed to reply because the error message says that I do not have sufficient posts on the forum. Now they want us to have a minimum of ten posts before we can send out private messages. WTH!

Normally, 10 posts is nothing to me since I have posted more than 10,000 posts in record time in one of my old forum hunting grounds but this is SERIOUS forum and I have nothing to share with them *cry*

Jaxtr – Link Your Phone

I don’t know how many people are using Jaxtr and like it. I have been getting invites for the past few months from business associates overseas. They say that we can call each other cheaper. lol cheapo! But I did not register with Jaxtr.

One reason I did not register is because I don’t want ANOTHER ID and password to remember. I came to the point where the less I remember, the better! In fact, I just totally forgot the password for the control panel of one of my blogs. Is my memory that bad or what?

Anyway, another reason that I did not register is that I don’t really like to give out my phone number to services like this in case I am billed. My line is a postpaid line and I would have to be responsible for my bill. In case of dispute, I would have to settle it fully first before I can seek a claim. Boy, I would hate to mess up my phone bill.

So is anyone using it? How do you find the features and are there any surprises?

My Rising Alexa

As a paid to blog blogger, my rising Alexa reading is certainly worrisome. I think that it will go above 199,999 next week and it would lock me out of many more opportunities, as if being in Malaysia is not a bitter enough pill to swallow.

I was telling a friend about my rising Alexa and my worries about it and he asked me, “So is that good or bad?” Of course it is bad!!!

What to do? I have seen my traffic dropped a little but not that drastic but I didn’t do some of the tricks that people do to bring their Alexa score down like trading reviews and such. I do have a widget on my site which is supposed to help with tracking and counting traffic and I sometimes use the Alexa extension in my URL, if that helps any.

I guess I will have to take it as it comes. The weird thing about Alexa is that some of my friends who are enjoying better traffic to their blogs have way worse score than I do. Oh, well!

HIFU: High Intensity Focused Ultrasound

My uncle has been suffering from a medical condition for the past couple of years. There were times that he was unable to urinate and had to go to the hospital to insert a catheter to drain his urine. The doctors prescribed medication but that was just a short term solution because the problem persisted. And all these while, there is the bad feeling that this may be more than just an enlargement of the prostate.

My uncle has been told to look out for prostate cancer symptoms although checks did not reveal any abnormal cell but one can’t be too sure so he must be vigilant as well.

I read that treatment for prostate cancer is very advanced nowadays with something called HIFU, a procedure called High Intensity Focused Ultrasound. HIFU is an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia that will last from one to three hours. Using ultrasound waves, the doctor is able to target those abnormal cells and destroy them without damaging nearby healthy cells.

This is certainly good news because it is not an invasive procedure and can be repeated when required. For more information on HIFU, please visit http://www.internationalhifu.com

Learn To Dance Like A Pro

Not too long ago, I wrote that a neighbor of mine is a ballroom dance instructor but he is old, already in his seventies. That is why I never took lessons from him even though I really want to learn ballroom dancing.

Recently, I watched some old dance movies again like Grease, Fame and Take The Lead and they again fueled my desire to learn dancing. So far, I have been putting it off because I could not find an instructor and I think I am too old and stiff to dance. However, I realize that these are just stumbling blocks that I placed upon myself.

About a week ago, I was told of this website called Dance Crazy, which is actually an online store that carries instructional videos in DVD format for just about any dance, from Samba to Country to Ballroom. I was surprised that they even have Ballet instructional videos!

It is also a resource site with the history for each dance and the music plus a video preview of each dance. One of the previews I watched was the Bachata Dance. Boy, I would really love to learn THAT!

I love the fact that their videos cater to dance enthusiasts from all levels from beginner level onwards and that the instructors are professional dancers themselves as well.

I think that learning by video is a great option for people like me who are born with two left feet and we would rather learn something like dancing in private and at our own pace. Besides, these instructional videos are way cheaper than going to dance classes where the fees are charged by the hour.

Zorpia

I am sure many people are already members of Zorpia or at least heard of it. I have received invitations to join Zorpia for ages now but have been trashing them. You all know how I don’t like to join all these social networks and see no point of doing so and hate the extra set of website, log in ID and password to remember.

However, today, I received yet another invitation and since I have nothing better to do, I decided to check it out. To my surprise, from the statistics at the point of writing this post, Zorpia has more than seven million members, more than ten thousand people signed up yesterday and there were more than four thousand people online at the same time. These are astounding numbers.

The weird this is that the “conveyor belt” or whatever you call that strip that moves automatically has most recently updated profiles of ALL Malaysian members until I thought that this was a Malaysian site. What’s up? Just because I am in Malaysia, does that mean I would not be interested to view the profiles of other members or is it really only Malaysians who are this active at this time of the night on Zorpia?

So I checked Zorpia’s About page to see where this site is based in and to my further surprise, they are based in Hong Kong and the founder and CEO is Jeffery Ng. *slurp* NG is not a common Hongkie family name so I’m guessing he was originally from Malaysia 😀 or Singapore.

Perhap’s I’ll join Zorpia after all *slurp* 😀
