My Vet’s Website

This morning, I went to my vet to buy medication for my pet. He told me that his website is already ready 7788. Well, I thought that was great news. I went home to check out the URL that he gave me and although the website is ready, he did not provide too much information of his practice.

I think that if he would put up photos of himself, the resident veterinarian, his animal boarding area, rates and pictures of his surgery, it would be more interesting. I am going to make these suggestions to him but I am not sure if he will agree with me but it’s all for the better of his site only!

I will also try to get him listed on the premier online directory of commercials that my friend owns. It would make a great Christmas gift for him. And it’s in sincere appreciation for saving my pet’s life earlier this year!

For Effective Internet Security

Friends who work in internet security used to tell me that they have a tough time keeping up with the changes in threats the internet network of their companies. They told me that there was no single internet security solution to maintain their internet networking and thus their companies had to allocate a chunk of budget for internet security.

Recently, I read on the web that a premier internet security company has come up with a layered, seemingly “all-in-one solution”, including their suite of NOD32 internet protection products that would effectively protect the network of companies efficiently, saving time and money in the process.

I believe that my friends who are in this field would have already known about it and it would be great if their companies decide to implement this solution. I would make life easier for everyone!

Online Wedding Album For Those Candid Shots

If you have attended a wedding dinner recently, I am sure you would have had a disposal camera at your, well, disposal! It has been the trend lately for the wedding couple to provide disposable wedding cameras to the guests so that they can capture those candid moments of the occasion. I have had my fair share of fun taking these amateurish snaps and I think they make better keepsake than professionally taken wedding photos!

I first got to know of this unique wedding idea on an episode of Oprah a long time ago and little did I know that wedding couples here have also adopted this for their Chinese wedding dinners. The problem, though, is that guests hardly have the chance to view these shots unless they are really close to the bridal couple.

Don’t worry, there is a solution offered by I Thee Snap, Inc. This company provides the valuable service of an online wedding album for shots taken from all those disposable wedding cameras where all guests would be provided with the URL of the online wedding album and access code to it.

This means that guests would get to compare their wedding photography skills and share the photos among each other, comment on the shots or even order prints. For the bridal couple, no longer do they have the arduous and time-consuming task of scanning photos, saving them to the computer and sending the photos out by email one by one to interested guests.

It’s such a great idea, it’s a wonder why no one thought of this until now!

My Streamyx Is Restored!!! Hallelujah!

Woooeee I got a phone call from TM this morning asking me to check if my Streamyx is OK already and yes, THANKFULLY is it! According to the guy, it’s a problem at their end that caused my broadband disruption FOR ONE WHOLE DAY!!!

Nobody knows how frustrated I was trying to get online earlier this morning and caused me to wasted a full hour trying and trying rebooting my computer, mobile device, and even pairing and unpairing my bluetooth, trying with the USB cable and whatever I could think of. I was so frustrated I could cry. It reminded me of the old dial-up days!

My friend told me that I should sue TM for loss of business. The only thing that caused me to calm a little was my back up plan. Paying MYR99 extra is not fun but at least it came to good use at an emergency like this!

I guess I am just thankful that I need not wait till Tuesday for the technicians to check on my line! GGGrrrrr

At Times When Technology Fails

Ultra Frust!!! I have been trying to get connected to the internet for the past hour as I had a post to submit but I get an error that says either my USB device has malfunctioned, or that my modem is not connected or my bluetooth is not working.

If you read my previous post, you would know that my regular connection is not working, perhaps due to my telephone cable because all other hardware seems to be fine. Yet, I could not get online like I normally could. Beats me why…

So I am using my 3G line that I have subscribed s a back up plan for just moments like this. I have been connecting this way since 8am yesterday morning and just now, the line got so slow that I decided to disconnect to reconnect… and that was when all the error were thrown at me.

I was so frustrated I could cry. Not because I could not live without the internet but only because there is money at stake.

AIM on Gmail

This would have been good news for me IF I like to chat on Gmail. BUT I don’t even sign in. Although I only have one “buddy” on my AIM, I would rather log in and use AIM’s application to chat whenever “he” feels like chatting.

However, this would be good news for people who love to chat online but do not want to handle that many windows. LOL I remember when I was first introduced to the internet, I was chatting to more than ten people AT ONCE.

For chronic chatters, it would be great if Gmail could handle a wider selection of instant messengers like the ever popular Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger.

Although I do not normally sign into Gmail’s chat system, I may try this one out for once and see if I like it.

Eight Million Alexa Reading! Freaky!

We all know how inaccurate Alexa reading is and yet we all want ours to be as low as possible. And the thing is no matter how hard we work on the traffic and see an increment, Alexa seems to continually creep higher and higher! At least that was what I felt like! Maybe in the grand scheme of things, my traffic is not as good as other sites even if it has improved on my blog.

Anyway, I had a shock the other day when I saw that a friend’s blog is showing an Alexa reading of over eight million! Yes, can you believe that??? When I first started my blog, with a new domain name, it was “only” slightly more than two million. With a couple of posts, it soon fell a million points.

But this friend’s blog, which is a free Blogger blog, is showing EIGHT million!!! I thought that once a sub-domain blog is out of a particular range, it will show the reading of the main domain, in this case, Blogger’s Alexa reading, which should be twelve or something.

Previously, when my Alexa reading was rising, I was panicky and thought to myself, “Oh my god, it’s going to fall off the radar!” but now that I have seen a site with EIGHT million, which fell to FIVE million with a new post, I am calmer now! Haha!
