Business Cards For Bloggers

I am sure most of us have been very happy to play with the virtual business card for bloggers recently. However, how many of us serious bloggers have business cards?

I have been a customer of Vista Print for business cards, among other products, for both my online business and blogging and I give them the thumbs up for excellent customer service, product quality and fast shipping. I showed my friend, an artist, my new cards and he said the colors are very vibrant and real.

With so many blogs and websites, I figured that I needed a card specifically for blogging and I am glad that I could do it without incurring a high cost. At Vista Print, which you could visit at http://www.vistaprint.com, you can opt for their free business cards choosing from their range of ready made templates, where you ONLY pay for shipping and handling, or premium business cards. Of course, I urge everyone to get the premium cards as you would be able to use your own template and logo by uploading them and totally customize your cards.

For my premium business cards, I used Vista Print’s logo creator and it was a breeze. It was so simple to use, fast and I dare say the finished product is a class above! There is absolutely no worry about getting my printed products from Vista Print because I am thoroughly satisfied with the few times that I ordered my products from them.

If you run more than a couple of blogs, I think your should have your own business card specifically for blogging. It does show your seriousness as a blogger.

Blog Models

I have quite a few friends who are stay at home mummy bloggers. I was telling them how lucky they are because being a single girl, I need to crack my head on what to write every single post but what they need to do is just snap a picture or video of their children for blog content and every one would love reading it because children are so adorable.

It is like they ALWAYS will have somebody to model for them for blog content.

Besides, being mummy bloggers, they have the unfailing support of other mummy bloggers and if I am not mistaken, there is a blogroll somewhere where these mothers have set up blogs for their children, writing about their daily lives milestones achieved. I think that this is a wonderful support group over the internet because every mother loves to read about the things that are happening with other children who are the same age as their kid.

See, being single, not only do I not have an ever ready supply of models, I also do not have this core support of readers. Boooo!

Mental Diarrhea

I learnt that a couple of blogger friends are going on a blog marathon this couple of days. Their target is forty to fifty posts PER DAY! Of course, they are not going to flood ONE blog since they run multiple blogs. However, I just think that is extremely crazy of them!!

Luckily I did not join them on this blog marathon. I know my limits and am not ready to test it. God, I have a life to lead and real world work to attend to, like the rest of the world.

These two ladies are homemakers and they sometimes go on a blog marathon like this but I feel that they may have to neglect their children and family for a couple of days. *shiver*

Not Migrating

Two months ago, I thought that I would be moving my sub-domain blogs to their own domains. Now, I think that it would be too much trouble and it is not worth my time. I think that should I want blogs with my own domain and not sub from others, I may just as well START new ones and not migrate.

That’s why I am not going to move anything and blog as is here and on my other blogs too. I have also thought of moving my free hosted blogs from the free hosts to my own paid hosting but then I don’t think I will do so. If I have the time and mood to move anything at all, I may as well start fresh blogs and leave my existing posts alone.

Taking up too much time is one concern, having to beg for help is another. I loathe that instead of showing me how to do things and teaching me, there are people who would ask me to READ and research on the web. Well, I am someone who would only ask for help AFTER I have done my reading and still not understand it. Call me blur, call me stupid. I just don’t have a technical mind. So?

No More Minimum PR3?

A friend told me that she has received an assignment from a company that all along only wanted minimum PR3 for their database of bloggers. My friend’s blog fell to a big fat zero and yet she received this assignment. JELES JELES JELES LOL

Now, the funny thing was that not only did she receive an assignment on her PR0 blog, she received TWO assignments for the same advertiser on the same blog.

I think this network is screwed up too. They may keep harping they only accept minimum PR3 but when the majority of bloggers who want to blog for money have their blogs adjusted unnaturally to a big fat zero, what can he do but to distribute jobs to all these people, right? Do you think that they could afford to wait till new bloggers sign up with them? I don’t think so.

If you stick around long enough, perhaps you will also receive a surprise assignment from a company that sends out assignments in Greek that you would have to read three times to understand what they want!

Going Crazy Over Word Verification

This morning whist blog hopping, I tried to leave a comment on a blog. It was my first visit to the blog, though, and I was required to submit the weird verification before I was allowed to post my comment. I could register with the blog to escape from submitting word verification but I see no point in registering with a blog just so that I could comment on their posts.

You know how these word verifications are. I swear I got them right all the time but I keep getting an error and I was not able to leave that bloody comment! It was so frustrating that I wondered why the administrators would want to make their readers jump over hoops just to leave ONE comment!

In the end, it felt like a game betting with myself, how many times it would take me to successfully submit my comment. I hope that this blog would have a more friendly way of deterring spam comments or it will stop people from commenting on their posts!

700,000 Unique Visitors

A friend of mine was lucky enough to have his post picked up by an extremely prominent local blogger and was given a link out from his website. Within one day, my friend told me that he received a total of 700,000 unique visitors.

Since not everyone who reads the prominent blogger’s blog would click on the link, let’s say it’s a high 50% click through, this blogger receives a conservative 1.4 million unique visitors PER DAY! I tell you, that is a figure most of us would kill for.

We would have been happy with 700,000 visitors to our site only if it was for a day. However, my friend was not happy and said that this sudden surge in traffic screwed up his AdSense revenue, as expected from low-quality traffic who not only are ad-blind but also whose bounce rate is high.

Hah… I would have lapped up this one day fame!
