Happy New Year, Happy 1st Anniversary!!!!!

Wow… it’s New Year’s Eve today and I can’t believe that my blog will turn a year old tomorrow on New Year’s Day. Where has all the time gone??? I don’t know how many posts I have written on this blog but there are more than a thousand posts published.

If there’s one thing I regret about this blog it is that I would have started a domain instead of a sub-domain. Other than that, I have no regrets. I would have changed to a domain blog right now if not for all the hassle so I will have to keep it as it is.

I have been blog hopping lately and many bloggers have a post on they blogging plans for 2008. Well, what about mine? I most probably will move a couple of my passion blogs to their own domains. I have left them idle for one whole year and I think it is high time I revive them. They are niche blogs that I have a passion for.

I most probably will have more time on my hands beginning 2008 so ya, I’ll be devoting a little time on my passion blogs. I may even start a new website on iPhone. I know, I AM CRAZY!!!

Lost In A Sea of Spam Comments

I have been so very lazy to go through my Spam comment folder anymore. I give up to these spammers and don’t even care now if legitimate comments have mistakenly be caught by Akismet.

I used to worry that my readers will misunderstand and wonder why I purposely do not approve their comments for publishing. Well, let’s just say that I am tired of spammers so much so that I no longer worry about not being able to publish real comments. I know that is happening because don’t get too many comments lately, compared to the time when I still had the energy to flip through pages and pages of spam.

I heard that if someone leaves too many comments on blogs, they will be marked as Spam even if they are legit. Also, this feature that is said to de-spam “spam” comments do not work at all. I tried it a few times and soon gave up.

What Kills My Blogging Mood

Let’s not even touch on the stupid P-R. But just now, just when I was submitting my post, my blog’s server went down suddenly. Eyerrrr I hate that because at the back of my mind, I was already thinking that I have the post “wrapped up” and the server has to go down just right at that moment! Sometimes the internet goes down just at that moment too!

Luckily, most of the time I remember to copy my post and save it elsewhere before hitting the Publish button or I would most probably have lost the post and I would be very, very pissed off!

Another thing that kills my blog mood is scrapper sites that steal content. Of course, there are other things that make me not like blogging, like copy cats and comment spammers.

I guess, though, that these are things that are beyond our control. We may get mad but that will not help matters. So what do we do? Vent on our blogs lorrr hahaha!

Three Dozen Niche Blogs!!!!

This morning, a friend told me that she has a new blog. Well, I took the opportunity to ask her how many blogs she has now. And she said, “Three dozen and counting!” My god, I swear I nearly fainted!!!

Tell me, is there anyone with more than three dozen blogs or is she the champion? Unlike other people with many blogs but using them as scrappers and then selling them once they have built sufficient back links, this friend of mine is spending time building them post by post, article by article of original content.

I have another friend who has two dozen blogs last time. I think by now, she has built more already. Which friend has more, I wonder…

For me, even with a dozen blogs, I already have my time stretched to the maximum. Only in an extreme case would I push myself to maintain more than that. Right now, I have found a balance which I would like to keep at.

Rejected Task Missing

This morning, I received a computer generate email informing me that my task has been rejected. There was no specific reason why the task was rejected and the bad news is that the task is not missing from my task management list. Well, I was not told what task has been rejected but I know which one they were referring to because that was the only task waiting for a review.

I never liked it that this company does not have a way to inform published WHY a task is rejected and every rejection comes with a canned message. Many friends have told me that they waste a lot of time submitting and submitting a task only to receive rejection after rejection because they don’t even know what is wrong in the first place.

Now that my task is missing, which means that I am not given a second chance, of course I wrote in to ask but today being Saturday here, Friday night in the West and so close to Christmas holidays, I really don’t expect a reply from them at all.

Anyway, from experience, I know that if something like this happens, just take a deep breath and move on.

What Colour Should Your Blog Be?

As you know, I have been trying to change the template of my blog. I have gotten bored with it after twelve long months. Somehow, I could not find one that I absolutely love and yet fits the overall theme of tis blog. Got theme meh??? LOL

Coincidentally, I was browsing Blog Things and noticed a little quiz that is supposed to let us know what colour our blog should be based on the type of blogger that we are. Of course, I tried to answer the quiz as truthfully as possible because I think that these quizzes on Blog Things are rather accurate.

So it says that my blog should be in BLUE. Woohooo…. It IS blue!!!!

Your Blog Should Be Blue

Your blog is a peaceful, calming force in the blogosphere.
You tend to avoid conflict – you’re more likely to share than rant.
From your social causes to cute pet photos, your life is a (mostly) open book.

Ready Stream Of Blog Readers

I lamented to a friend that I really would like to set up a personal blog but dread the task of building traffic and readership. I am not someone who likes to network because I like to write only. Whether people read or not, I don’t mind but then when so many things depend on great statistics, I have to do whatever it is to beef up my stats as well.

I can start as many blogs as I wish but I really don’t want to network because I cannot spare the time and with so many blogs, my attention per blog is wearing thin.

My friend suggested that I set up a blog in a blogging community, like at http://www.thoughts.com/. He said that with a high membership count, these people are my potential readers. I would be able to concentrate on writing and readers will come because of the recent blog posts widget, the ease of searching for blog posts via Cloud Tag and getting posts rated by other members.

Besides setting up a blog on Thoughts.com, I would also be able to upload photos and share them or start my own podcast, my dream, really! I wonder why it did not cross my mind to set u my blog on Thoughts.com. I KNEW about it months ago…. I feel like kicking myself to have to struggle with independent blogs, working my butt off trying to gain that extra reader!
