Sleeping While Blogging

LOL I am sure many Malaysian bloggers who blog for pay would know the kind of crazy schedule we keep. We practically cannot get a good night of rest. A couple of days ago, I was having an extremely long and tiring day but still had to push out a post but it was already past 3am and I had to wake up at 7am….that I ended up typing Everythong instead of Everything in the title.

And I did not even know about it. I submitted, went to bed and did not access my blog the following day. I only knew about it when a reader pointing it out to me. Hahaha… I was mighty embarrassed. Surprisingly that particular post, which was an opp was approved over night. I guess the reviewer did not notice the title.

There are many times that I caught myself typing many senseless sentences but I always woke up enough to edit them but this “everythong” totally escaped me. I guess I am immune to thongs already!

A Blog For Your Thoughts

A couple of posts back, I wrote that I wanted to start a few more blogs. I am serious about it you know, even though I already have so many! It is as if I have so many different things to share that I need a blog for each line of thought.

Just now, which making purchases for domain names, I was thinking, will I be able to afford maintaining my domain name renewal and hosting bills year after year? What if I lose interest in blogging? Where will my posts be?

I suddenly remember about the free blog provider at http://www.thoughts.com/. Yes, they are free like Blogger but with a refreshing air to it. You will know what I mean if you visit Thoughts.com.

What I like about blogs on Thoughts.com is the ability to set access level to each posts to the public or keep them private. This is what we can do with WordPress but then you have to remember, we are paying to host our blogs. Like I mentioned, it’s free on Thoughts.com and they offer unlimited bandwidth too so you can pile your account with photos, videos and most importantly, TRAFFIC!

Are you worried about getting traffic for your lonesome self hosted blogs? Well, you need not be if you are with an active community like Thoughts.com where members will visit each other and make comments. They even rate posts too, like an internal Digg. A great feature that can grab the attention of other members!

Scary

A guy I recently know found out about my blog. OK, so I told him about it. And you know what? He spent a few hours reading from the most recent post, going back to the very first post. My goodness! My blog is already a year old with more than a thousand posts, and he had the patience to read every single page.

OK, so many he did not read every single POST, but he did flip though every single page. Of that I am sure because my Stats Counter shows it!

Isn’t that scary? Yerrrr… the scarier part is that I have already forgotten what I wrote about and maybe I have leaked some secrets out there or talked about someone like him? LOL

I wished that he would come to my blog every day and read one post a day because then only will his visit be counted as a unique hit once a day, though I hope all the page views will count for something!

Blogging Half Asleep

I just realised in one of my old posts, which I reread upon receiving a new comment on that post, that some of my sentences did not make sense at all. The weird thing is that I remember I was very sleepy when I was writing it and in fact, I was already nodding off to dreamland even though it was only slightly past midnight.

It is strange that I could write perfect words even when I was 3/4 asleep like that, it is only that when these perfect words were strung into a sentence, they make no sense and in fact make it seem as if the post was written by a weirdo what with all the wrong sequence of words that twisted my sentences.

What could I do but to shrug it off and hope no one noticed lah! Although I would like my posts to be perfect, I am only human. I’m just lucky those were my own original content. Don’t want no flags or bans!

It’s Great To PiNG Again!

It’s been a long time since I ping-ed the local blog aggregator. That’s because I was so busy with blogging that I forgot to Ping. Naturally, my traffic suffered and I was not happy with that. Now that my blogging has actually slowed down, though looking at my blog, you can’t really tell, I can take a little breather and Ping whatever services instead of rushing to another post.

Well there are good and there are bad sides to everything, of course.

Did you know that yesterday, I actually remembered to Ping Petaling Street for all my blogs? Heh… I love seeing the traffic come in even though I may not benefit from them al that much but it’s great to see the statistics.

I hope I will continue to remember to Ping. It’s hard to remember after such a long time not doing it!

Somebody’s Got Her PR Back II

The other day, I got to know of a blogger friend who received her P***R*** after a few weeks after she cleaned up her blogs and submitted them for reconsideration. Well, she managed to get them all back, good for her. She also swore never to sell links anymore and from what I understand, installed a plug-in and nofollow-ed ALL links.

I think that is too much already. Why can’t we link as and when we like, like a normal blogger? I have a blog that is not monetized at all and yet I still link however and whenever I like but anyway, I digress…..

Last night, I got to know of another of my blogger friend who managed to get a her THREE back. Now, the thing is, she has continued to sell links and even have ’em posts back to back. Where is the logic?

A mutual blogger friend told me that this G stands for GOD so I asked if this “PR-THREE” blogger prayed to Him. Hah…

50% Off!

Monday is the day a local blog advertising company disburse payment for the previous week. So, yesterday as usual, I received my share but the problem is that I was only paid 50% of what I should get pre-glitter club days.

What is so pissy is that the club only came into effect yesterday and they already started docking our pay for the previous week BEFORE the club was officially in place.

To say that I am pissed is an understatement. I had thought that I would be able to cash out my money within the first quarter of the year but then because I refused to join their so-called exclusive club I am penalised for that.

HHmm I still refused to butter up to some people, though!
